Pace The Pacer Race!

After about 6 months of various track designs, I have one that works. I wanted the Vortex to be something different, fun and challenging in diecast racing.

Every track needs a Pace Car and that is where YOU come in! Time to put your custom modifying skills together and come up with an OFFICIAL Pace Car for The Vortex!

Located in the desert hills and mountains of Arizona, comes The Vortex. Race through desert scenery on your way down the track towards "The Vortex" where a blue spiral spinning "Vortex" takes you so fast, that it just may make you hurl before that last turn.

We need a Pace Car that can set the bar for the races to follow. Something fast and sleek, original and stylish, yet eye-catching. To make it fair I can only limit it to 32 enteries.

The first 32 submissions I receive in my email WILL be chosen. Chosen contestants will be notified by email and/or Facebook Below is a full list of rules, incentives and prizes. There will be FOUR finalists competing for The Winning Pace Car.

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only
• 85g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Dry lube only
• Rule 1. Submissions for entries begin on Monday, June 21st 2021 and end on July 10th Email Tournament Host Jason @ diecastinnracing@gmail.com for address to send submissions to. If your car does not win the race and you want it back, include $5 for return shipping. Otherwise feel free to donate your car and you will at least receive ONE (1) UNOPENED Hot Wheel or Matchbox mainline vehicle.
• Rule 2. Car MUST be modified in some way. If you want to submit a car but don't know how to change wheels, you CAN use a stock vehicle, but ALL original tampos must be removed and it must be repainted in some way. This is the ONLY exception.
• Rule 3. First 32 submissions to diecastinnracing@gmail.com will be chosen to build their Pace Cars and to race them. I will keep 5-10 additional submissions on the account one of the contestants cannot complete the race due to whatever reason. If this occurs please let the host Jason know @ diecastinnracing@gmail.com so he can notify others on the waiting list. Thank you!
• Rule 4. This tournament will most likely go til years end as there will be 32 contestants working our way down to the final 4.
• Rule 5. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places.
• Rule 6: Somewhere on your car it MUST say "Official Pace Car " OR simply just, "Pace Car." Since "DieCast-Inn Racing" can be a long tampo, ( for those of you who want to go that far ) you can shorten it to "D.C.I.R." on the vehicle if you choose to do so. Also the words "The Vortex" MUST appear SOMEWHERE on the vehicle. Feel free to add drivers and/or passengers. You can also come up with your own tagline if you wish.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Thursday, 7/15/2021. Racing is scheduled for Friday August 13th, 2021.   Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $5.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins 3 out of 4 races or by comes in first by scoring points. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

First prize will be A Chase Vehicle of the tournament host's choosing. Details will be updated but this is what is for now.

2nd Place will receive an unopened Johnny Lightning, Auto World, Hot Wheels, Matchbox etc. Limited editions and/or DieCast 1:64 figures

3rd Place Unopened Mainline Hot Wheel or Matchbox
