Cash prizes for winners, is it allowed?
Just a general question - is it possible to offer prize money for races?
I guess it's a silly way to word it, as of course making the offer is possible, but if posting on YouTube can a cash prize for the winner be applied?

The biggest issue you will have is being accused of shenanigans when you involve money. I have been in several online events where competitors have blasted the host for perceived influencing of the outcome.
Yea on my races, I hold grudge matches where my YT platform is just the judge. youu could do prize bets for grudge races on venmo or similar platform at the moment.
As far as YT policies go, I dont think there is anything against posting a competition that held a cash prize.

Personally, I'd avoid any sort of cash prizes for online racing. For live, in-person racing, sure...whatever you want to do.
I would suggest doing some sort of gift card in lieu of cash. Like an Amazon card or some other general merch card. Or that could be part of the prize, picking which type of gift card you want.
I know you're asking about YouTube but I should also mention that posting cash prize races here on RLD is not allowed. If you see one, please flag it and let me know.
Best to stay away from it altogether. Any time cash is involved, someone is going to complain about possible cheating/bias/influencing/etc. You want to do anything like that, offer pink slip grudge matches - you lose the race, you lose your car.
Now, as someone mentioned, on a live race setup, where the participants are actually THERE at the track, sure, it's entirely possible to do this. That way everyone who is participating can see the outcome as it happens, just like the real 1:1 scale racing. That would be the only fair exception.
Thanks everyone, you know I'd never even considered people may think it was fixed, or biased etc - but I guess when cash is on the line all kinds of frustrations could play out if results don't go the way people want to.
