Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket with the fastest time combined with the bigger beat.... Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races. Best 3 out of 5 for the FINAL RACE.

Bracket seeding for stocks will be according to qualifying

MOD RACE will be random seeding determined by the fancy wheel generator

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given no grace over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales. So make sure it's 58 or less.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

Stock winner will get a Trophy and prize bundle.
Modified winner will get a Trophy and prize bundle.

Thanks for hosting mate! But the only real thing I have learned this year is that I am not making cars that are fast enough to compete at these drag races... yet!

I'll join but just to make sure, for the modded section 150 grams is the max weight limit?

  • Yessir!!! Definitely looking forward to seeing you at MileHighRaceway!!! — ElevationDiecastRac1ng
  • Yep, I know I missed out on the scale mile high tournament (as I couldn’t send the car on time) but I won’t miss this one — Kingjester
  • Excellent!! — ElevationDiecastRac1ng

No AMC?  With a great event title like that for a 60s - 70s themed drag race...  You gotta alow AMC.

I would like in please

I'll play. Likely one of each stock and mod

So either 2 stock or 1 mod / 1 stock?

I'm in anyway lol

  • You can send 2 and 2. Up to you! Looking forward to seeing you again at MileHighRaceway!!! — ElevationDiecastRac1ng

I'm in

This sounds fun. I would like to try my hand at a modified drag race. The way I understand it is that both the stock and mod races are limited to the big 3 from the sixties and seventies, the the weight limit for stock is 58g and the mod limit is 150g. What are the rules about coned wheels and enlarged wheel wells?

I think I'll send one in for the mod race.

  • Yessir, stock is Big 3 at 58g....mod is a car of your choosing and only rules is 150g limit...in other words, make it fast — ElevationDiecastRac1ng
  • Thank you, I will probably go with a different entry for the mod race then. — Roberts_Diecast_Motorsport
