REDLINE TORSION BAR STYLE AXLES
PYTHON, FORMERLY CALLED CHEETA...
THE LOOP IN THE AXLE IS SPREAD AND SLIDES OVER THE RAISED BLOCKS [BETWEEN THE RECTANGULAR HOLES], THEY ARE NARROWER CLOSER TO THE BASE KEEPING THE AXLE PINCHED AGAINST THE BASE...
GONNA TRY ONE WITH FTEs...BASE AT THE REAR AXLE IS A TAD WIDER THAN THE FTE AXLES, BASE MUST BE SLIGHTLY FILED FROM EACH SIDE...

Boy, they sure have simplified since then.
THE HONG KONG RELEASE IS MUCH EASIER TO SWAP THAN THE USA JOBS...
SMitty~ How challenging is it to put FTE axles in an early redline? Haven't attempted that one yet.
NUTHIN' TO IT...
TEAR OUT THE OLD AXLES, CUT A SHALLOW AXLE SLOT FOR THE FTE AXLE WITH A HACKSAW, DRILL A J.B.RIVIT HOLE...J.B.QUICK IT, ALIGN IT...
MANY EARLY REDLINES HAD SMALL WHEELS, TRY MOUNTING THE FTE AXLES UNDER THE BASE LIKE A GASSER...
WON'T HAVE TO RE-ARCH THE REAR WHEEL WELLS AS MUCH... PAINT ORANGE !

JDC, are you thinking about allowing different axle/wheel combos in the series idea?

YES! Check out the thread -I added another option.
THE USA RELEASE "HOT HEAP" ON THE LEFT HAS [2] SEPARATE AXLES AND THEY APPEAR TO BE SOLDERED OR PINCHED PINS...
THE HONG KONG RELEASE "HOT HEAP" ON THE RIGHT USES [1] BENT AXLE...AS THE PYTHON DOES...;
