I HAVE that old 2-lane drag strip, complete with starting gate and finish gate. They both work just fine.

That brings back great memories. I spent many hours dreaming while "surfing" the toy sections of those catalogs.
Even tho Im more familiar with the early 2010s catalogues, i remember as a kid browsing through the hot wheels section at toys r us, y'all remember those kid picks track sets?

Man, I lived for the Wishbook. So much fun circling all the stuff and then realizing, quietly, mom and dad won't be dropping 10k on you, but the thought is nice.... LOL.
Sears Wishbooks were one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. I would stare at the toy section for at least an hour each day in the late 60's mid 70's as soon as it would come in the mail.
I love looking through those things...I have a whole Pinterest board of just old ads.
And for reference, $1.00 in 1968 is about $10 today...so that $6.99 2-lane drag set would be about $70!
