Return shipping

What is the preferred method of payment for those that host events? Cash with cars or cash apps??

Not a big fan of sending cash though the mail in general and would like the option to use PayPal or Venmo
- Ha! If I sent cash you would think its Monoploy money! :) — CutRock_R_Marc_D

I send $20 for the fee, regardless of the actual fee PLUS a pre-paid return shipping label..... so there is zero cost really on the race host.
Still hasn't stopped two hosts from stealing my cars, however.
- Damn, just Damn. Really people, stealing cars. How about race them for pink slips. If we destroy the trust and not return merchandise, now matter the $ it will destroy the whole racing system. No one will want to send cars or figures. — LordSyosset
- Pretty much every time I send a car out, I write it off. I've lost a bunch of cars from various hosts who are no longer in the racing scene. — SpyDude
Cash is a gamble, especially for new racers who have no experience dealing with race hosts. There are many good, trust worthy people in the community, however a few bad eggs can spoil it for everyone. Unfortuneately, it's a trial and error experience unless you research and ask questions such as this. Most of the car stealing hosts get weeded out by members of the community here or on social media, and in some cases called to the carpet for it so others do not get taken advantage of. They also tend to quickly disappear after hosing only one or two events, so look for hosts who have multiple races under their belts.
I preffer the PayPal method, that way both the builder and host have a receipt for the transaction. At least that way you can prove you paid for return shipping and take appropriate action if cars are not returned. This of course will not prevent a host from keeping your cars, but as they say... "Fool me once, shame on you... Fool me twice, shame on me!"
You can always PM other members for feedback on a particular host if you have never raced at their track before to see what their experience was.
Best of Luck!

I am good with cash inside domestic shipments but when you ship across borders, it can be a problem when customs opens for inspection.
I do cash, usually a $20, folded up in the redline form
and for ships to canada, a note on the cash that says "for retun shipping"
and don't count that in the customs valuation

I usually send the cash folded up inside the registration form.
CASH!
I normaly put cash on it. enough to send it back.
my problem is that they don't come back... and this sucks. I'm spending 30$ what is fair from my side to send them back. Because i have send them for the same amound... this is lot for one single tournament! But a few, not all, are taking the money and don't care about the rest. This is why i'm not sending any cars anymore to a few tracks.
i know about the iceberg! And i see it!
But please be fair to all everybody that is competing on the track!
- Yes, this sucks. Keeping the car and the cash. Sorry this happens to you. Unfortunately you are not the only one. — johnson9195
My Bank is 75 miles away so Cash is the easiest way for me.
I'm old fashioned. Cash is King!
For us, I don't have any cash apps, so cash is what we have to have.
