Rotors vs Pistons tournament format EXPLAINED!
So the reason I came up with this format is because all too often I see racers getting bounced in the first round after spending weeks and even months of hard work to build their racecars. Even really fast cars will sometimes get eliminated early because of bad matchups. Well, this format essentially lets you race 3 times before you get eliminated: 1 race in the first round and 2 races in the 2nd chance bracket. Now, for the 1st round of the 2nd chance bracket the matchups are going to be randomized. That way if you were to advance you don't run into the same person that gave you your first loss to begin with. After that, matchups will stay the same for the rest of the event. You race whoever is in front of you. Additionally, you will NOT race against yourself unless both of your cars make it to the later rounds and it's inevitable.
For the Winner's bracket it will be a 1 and done race to either advance or fall into the 2nd chance bracket. Why only 1 race? Well, we want to preserve as much suspension as possible. Racing only one race keeps everybody guessing on whether or not you can be beat in the other lane. One final note: there will be NO qualifiers for this tournament. Every 1st Round matchup will be randomized. Both of your cars will be assigned on opposite ends of the bracket so they don't face each other unless they find themselves in the Semis or Finals.
To summarize:
-Double elimination tournament
-Winner's Bracket: 1 and done race throughout the event
-2nd Chance Bracket: 2 runs, switch lanes, fastest time advances. Loser will be eliminated
-Only the overall First Round and the First Round of the 2ND CHANCE BRACKET will be randomized. After that, you race whoever is in front.
