Run with the Big Dogs (Full, 3 alternates open)

A tribute to my late K-9 friend Kodiak aka Kodibear, who went to eternity Nov. 2023. Pics below! I still miss him!
Hosts are reserved a spot, as is Dutch Clutch Racing, it is his idea, and he is providing the 1st place trophy.
Rules & restrictions
- Modified entries only
- no maximum weight/unlimited
- 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
- Limit 1 entries per household
- Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed. No Mario Kart Wheels
- Dry lube only
- One casting, the Bone Shaker. All cars must be modified with custom paint. Also, the driver must have a dog name. It can be of a real dog or made up. Designate name at sign up. No weight limit. If weight put in cab, must put a roof on it. If put in back, cover it. Can add "glass" in windows, and shade. Can trim pipes. Fee is at least $10.00 for return of car and shipping to all three tracks. 32 car limit. The fastest 16 will qualify for the three tracks. 17-32 rank will race in a non-qualifier race at Hairy Man Mountain Run.
Dates & deadlines
All entries must be received by the host before Wednesday, 5/8/2024. Racing is scheduled for Wednesday, 5/15/2024. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Track
Three tracks. All qualifying is at Hairy Man Mountain Run. Then race four races of 4 cars. Points are kept, and cars go to Treetops Raceway Park for race two. Four races of four cars. The on to Pacific Coast International Raceway. Four races. Highest point earner wins. If there is a tie, a race off will occur.
The non-qualifier race of ranks 17-32 will be a standard 4 car four lap race, with double elimination. Four races, then semi finals of eight, then the remaining four in the finals with eight laps. Highest score wins. Trophy for the winner.
Race format and scoring
This will be a points earning tournament. Cars will be selected randomly and race in groups of four. 16 cars, four races at each venue. Winner gets five points, 2nd three points, 3rd two points, 4th one point. Zero points for DNF.
Non qualifier race will be double elimination.
In the non-qualifier race, the car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races. Same point system as above.
Bracket seeding will be random.
Penalties/DNF
No weight limit, but all weight must be hidden..
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

I feel for ya and I'm in brother... I lost my best good Buddy last year about that time. He had been getting meds for his arthritis that had masked a cancer condition in his system. I took him to the vet for his not feeling well... they did an x-ray and said they needed to put him down. No warning, no alternatives... nothing. I walked out of there with my buddy in a bag and a broken heart. Took him home and buried him in the pasture. So... fck yeah I am in. I don't have this car but I will get one and send it. Sorry for your loss man. I lost my chocolate labrador just over a year ago as well. It's not easy losing a good pal. The sand-covered nose brings back good memories. Those dogs sure love the beach

I asked Bent Rod about this but haven't inquired with you--would my entry still be valid if I put the chassis of a '32 ford on the base of a Bone Shaker? There's a chassis that I find cool that i've been trying to frankenstein on to a Bone Shaker base to enter it into these races. It would still look like a Bone Shaker for the most part, with the huge exhausts and everything. If not allowed I can just get a new car and start from scratch, no worries. Let me know your thoughts

My condolences on the loss of your friend. Dogs have a special way of leaving paw prints on our hearts, and I know yours will be deeply missed.

Dude..im down as well...never had a dog as a pet...but we know every dog in the neighborhood better than we know the neighbours. Growing up my neighbour had a huge German shepherd mix named "Diesel"...he was an absolute teddy bear...but looked like he could chew through solid steel...that'll be my BobeShakers name

My entry will be driven by Gage. He is a rescue dog. Surrendered and on the euthanasia list because he was losing his sight to a degenerative eye disease. He is only 6 yrs. old and completely blind now but he has mapped "his" yard, knows where the fence and trees are and he "Runs with the Big Dogs" everyday. FOR KODIBEAR!!!

I'm in. And even though I don't have a dog, here's a picture of my surrogate pet, Lilly... which I nicknamed Poober (that'll be my race name). She's my sister's dog, was my roomie for 3 years, and got me through some tough times. I love this kid more than most humans. :)

I'm in. My dog Bear is getting up there in age and I dread what comes. Seeing as how there's quite a few Bear variants running around, I'll name my car Shadow. She was the first dog I had as a kid and I miss her quite a bit still. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of her.
