Season 5 Trophy

JDC442 Tuesday, 7/5/2011

Brian has asked me to build a special JDC442 Handmade Hot Wheel Display as a trophy for this season's fantasy champion. I'll be going into the workshop soon and hopefully I'll have it completed within the next couple of weeks and post a few pics. I thought I'd create something with the downhill racing theme in mind which will also resemble a trophy. I'm excited about being able to do this and can't wait to see how it turns out. A little more incentive to step up your games guys and gals Although Brian is leading so far the title is still very much in reach. Good luck everyone!

We're only half way through the season now, but should it happen that I end up with the most points at the end, the 2nd place player will become champion. If there's a tie for 1st with me, the other person will be champ. If there's a tie for 2nd with me as lone 1st, we'll do some sort of tie breaker. I don't believe I'll end the season with the most points, but wanted to clear that possibility up right now.

I look forward to seeing Jim's creation and can't thank him enough for this season's sponsorship and prize. And if you haven't yet, check out Jim's blog to see what other displays he has created...good stuff...and he takes orders!

I don't think that's necessary, Brian. If you win, you win...fair play on ya, B!

All the parts are done, just need to paint and secure the pieces together.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

and yes, the tracks will be adorned with racers when finished.

Now if you could just put the tracks on a motor and make them spin around....slowly.

nice Jim. I don't have the patience (or tools) to work with wood. Much rather weld up some steel!

Looking good, Jim! Should look sharp with some paint and varnish. I used to do wood work all the time, making my own toys and stuff, rubber band guns were fun - made those for my friends. My grandma was the uber carpenter/handyman so watching him was always inspiring.

@Jobe - Sounds like you just nominated yourself to weld next season's trophy prize!!
