Here we are. Another championship. Once again we'll find out who knows their cars the best and what car will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

On the player side of things, a mere 35 points separates 1st and 2nd place. Worpex is right on their tail...and has been since the beginning. This is a true battle that will most certainly go down in spectacular fashion. Seattlegreyy isn't too far behind in 3rd, but both SSLS6 and Worpex would have to falter AND Seattle would have to have a great set of picks to pull off an upset. Good luck to everyone!

Now on to the tournament...if you've played in past seasons you know that the championship can go one of two ways, it'll either be full of easy picks or hard picks. Looking at the way things landed this season, I'm calling this a hard tournament. A lot...and I mean a lot of great cars are sitting in this group of 16. So lets go through this match-by-match.

Wildcast vs Phantasm - A tough call to start things out. The Wildcat has a slight weight advantage, but Phantasm's FTE wheels could be the difference maker. A tough call but I'm giving the edge to Phantasm. I believe it's balanced just right and has performed very well on the Redline Derby track.

Ferrari vs Triumph - The Ferrari 512M is a rookie this season but it wouldn't surprise me to this car go all the way and we have yet another Ferrari enter the hall. The Triumph is nothing to sneeze at but the Ferrari should have this locked up.

Side Kick vs What-4-2 - Side Kick is simply a beast. I think it could go through a brick wall if you put enough behind it. The FTE did beat out the Ferrari 308 to get this far but it's hard to say "No" when 68 grams is staring you down.

Diablo vs Turbolence - The Diablo was a winner on the 50-foot track in Texas, but lets remember that it was a different Diablo car racing at that time. The Diablo didn't do bad on the Redline track either but Turbolence smoked all the competition to get here and I give it the edge. I wouldn't be surprised if it out paced the Ferrari to make it to the final round.

Fast Felion vs Modena - The Ferrari Modena is the other winner from the 50-foot tournament and while it is a star in Texas, it's history on the Redline Derby track is less than impressive. But the Felion's record is pretty solid and shouldn't have much trouble.

Fat Fendered vs Challenger - This match-up might look like a no-brainer given the Fat Fendered 40 is 56 grams of solid metal, but the Challenger looked very impressive beating a few good cars along the way. This one is tough to call. This one boils down to whether you put more stock in weight or roll. This is the match-up that might break your bracket.

Silver Bullet vs Rodger Dodger - The Silver Bullet has only raced in the off-site Washington tournament as it was a rookie and won in its first tournament, so it has no history on the Redline Derby track. However, it's all-metal casting might be just what it needs to roll by the sweet blown engine of Rodger Dodger.

Ford F-150 vs Firebird 400 - This is a battle of derby veterans. Both cars have a long history here in the fantasy league and both have earned every rating point they have. If you ask me, this is one of the tougher picks to make because they also have no history against each other. The truck has a slight weight advantage and that might be enough, but then again, maybe not.

~~~
There you go, my "expert" preview of round one in this tournament. Although, I'm also sitting squarely in 6th place going into this tournament so take my thoughts as you will. As for my final round match-up, I'm calling it as Turbolence vs Silver Bullet. We'll see what happens.
And don't forget that the winner this season will get a $10 gift card and a very spiffy trophy made by Bryan Jobe of Austin Diecast Drags. I've seen an early photo of the trophy and I must say that even unfinished, it's pretty bad ass. Good luck to everyone and extra luck to SSLS6 and Worpex...all eyes will be on you!
Good luck everyone! Especially SSL! I've been looking around the achievements to see where I can try to pick up some extra points, but I can't find anything. haha. Looks like I have to do this the old fashioned way!
I little more incentive to get those picks right!
Good luck, to the winner go the spoils!
And the Ferrari 458 does come off and you can race it, It has a super magnet inside the holds it to the trophy.
Nice work Jobe! Now that's Racing Art!
WorpeX and SSLS6 have a great battle going, but I'd like to see seattlegreyy(fellow Washingtonian and Javelin) make things even more interesting .
