Season 6, week 6 recap! Return of the 50' track monster!

Wow, what a day of racing was done today.

First we finally have some cooler weather down here in Texas, it's been a brutal summer.
Second Variation Jason came out to give me a hand today and also the first race of the Hardcore Downhill series.

We started things off with the Downhill Series, I'll let Jason fill in the details on that one but boy we have some real competition in this first round...

Then the Fantasy League races were done.

What an upset in the Autumn in Austin race, I think the Lamborghini Diablo winning threw everyone for a loop. I did awful.
Amazingly the first round were pretty much blowouts with massive leads until the Lambo/Monte Carlo race and the Ferrari 365/ 70 GTO convertible. I was really surprised by the Monte Carlo's performance and pleased with the Lambo as it's just an awesome heavy casting.
Second Round started off good with a Retroactive vs. Speed machine race that went to three or four round to get a consistent winner. Then the sleeper Aston Martin with a pretty easy win over the Javelin. Firebird blew the doors off the Corvette and the Lambo with a pretty easy win over the Ferrari 365 which was a big surprise to me.
Third round saw the Retroactive taking out the Aston Martin and a heated races that went to 3 rounds between the Lambo and the Firebird.
Final round, Retroactive vs. Lambo Diablo that went to 4 rounds to declare a winner. Good races.

Overall the scores were higher in the Blue October race, with WorpeX with the perfect bracket! Awesome. Jason and I were just talking about the fact no one had gotten one yet but that each of us had come within one pic. I only missed it by two this time. Anyway...
Right off the Screamin' Hauler kicked the Camaro's ass on the long track. The Shoebox with a tight win over the Twin Mill 3, Lambo, Radio Flyer and BMW with huge blow out wins then a very tight three round race between the Batmobile and Porsche. If that batmobile gets to wobbling with the narrow rear end it's all over, but if it can stay straight it's a contender. Then of course the Ferrari 360 killed the Gran Torino and the Superbird taking out the Dodge Van.
Second Round action was all bug huge blowouts with the Screamin' Hauler, Radio Flyer, BMW and Ferrari chewing up the competition.
Third round again, major blowouts. This is usually when you start to see some tighter racing but the Hauler killed the wagon and the Italian over the German.
Final round, a 4 race finish with the Ferrari barely getting by.

Great day, good racing and good fun.

Thanks!

I took a few pics, I'll add them later.

Thanks for the pics Jobe, love the shirt. How does a guy go about getting one of those? Have you made any Austin Diecast Drag shirts yet?
And excellent picks on the Hunt for Blue October races. Almost perfect, really helped the team on that one my friend. Which one did you miss?

Great job Jobe and very nice pictures! I love that Speed Machine you have! I'm glad that Blue October was so similar to Lone Star Longshot from before or else none of us would have done as well as we did!
