The results are in and another chapter in the Fantasy League ends with player Newman39 who tied for second place. Congratulations to Worpex and a big thanks to everyone that played this season. Many of you are RLD vets but many of you were rookies this season and I hope you stick around for Season 10 because it's shaping up to be a lot of fun.

Worpex will receive the collector diecast grand prize pack from Tom's Diecast Cars. A huge thanks and shout out to Tom's Diecast Cars for once again being our season sponsor and making the pot a little sweeter for the winner. Meanwhile, on the track...

On the track the championship tournament was easily the tightest racing I've ever seen on the Redline Derby track. I've seen hundreds of races over the past 9 nine seasons and none of them have been so close as this one. All the winners from this season were evenly matched, most winners only doing so by a bumper.

But after the dust settled it was the Acura HSC Concept FTE taking home the gold. Wait, what?! The Acura?! Yes, I couldn't believe it either. I think it's safe to say that the Rescue Ranger was a favorite in this tournament after being unlocked and returned to active racing by IowaStockcars. The Acura will now be parked in the Hall of Fame garage and retired from active league racing. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it...and yes, I did record the final round races and you can see all the action yourself.

It was back-n-forth for every match-up in every round. The Acura almost met his match against the VW 181 and then did it again against the Ford GTX. On the other side the big surprise was most likely the Ferrari 308 losing out to Corvette. The 308 was a true veteran car that had its share of wins and losses but the Corvette C6 had other ideas. Player KyBusch18 ended up winning the tournament with 225 points, earning him 300 credits to spend next season.

Again, a big thanks to everyone that played this season and congrats to Worpex. I personally appreciate everyone's participation and support of Redline Derby Racing. I can't believe we're about to start the 10th season of racing and if all goes to plan it should be a season of more fun, more cars and more prizes. The 10th Season is scheduled to open in two weeks on July 28. Stay tuned for more news and updates.

Congrats, WorpeX!

I knew the Acura was quick, but I think I had gladly accept the 2nd place tie considering how awfully I started in this series.

That was incredible. Thank you so much Brian for all that you do and the sponsors that make this even more enjoyable. I'm having a blast and I can't wait for future racing. I'll take tied for 4/5th this year! I'm so excited for next season. Let's go racing boys!

Worpex-Congrats on the win after taking the lead last week on the home tracks. My 10 year old son (Newman39) was so bummed to have recently lost the overall lead after being there the entire season and then just coming up short. He wanted that prize.

But coming in 2nd is the best he has done, so he has something to hang his hat on.

There will be more prizes next season so he can look forward to going after those. There will even be a mid-season prize tournament so everyone gets two chances to win something fun.

Well, he sure knows how to pick racers and I consider it an honor to share the #2 slot with him.

I would not mind at all if the prize was sent to you guys instead of me! I would much rather he had than I!

This was probably my worst full season of picking cars.

I'd like to think that my lack of success in picking winners this year has something to do with the increase in host tracks--that I'm no longer able to decide who wins based on knowing how a particular car runs on a particular track, but I have to imagine what a different car that looks like other cars that have been run might do on a different track somewhere else...

And I'd also like to think that, somehow, losing the "who is picking what in this particular tournament" percentage side-bar is another major contributor to my struggles this year--that knowing that other people picked a car in significant numbers could both highlight a possible mistake in my own picks, thus making it easier to avoid those mistakes, or it could possibly highlight an opportunity to make an underdog pick, allowing me to pick a couple of upsets that could give me an advantage over others...

And I'd also like to point out that the charts that point out that even the absolute BEST RDR participants average little more than a 50/50 split on their picks has introduced a "coin-flip mentality" in my mind...

...but, the truth is, I probably haven't been giving my picks as much attention as I used to. I haven't been diving into the research tools as I might once have to make an informed choice over two fairly evenly matched (as far as rating and/or weight is concerned) cars.

Lucky to have been carried by excellent teammates over in the . (And hopefully, if nothing else, my consistency in always scoring SOME points earns me the right to stay on the team in the future.)

I tip my hat to you WorpeX. Way to pick 'em!
I've noticed that Newman39 has often been at the top thru several of our seasons to only fall at the end. He'll get that crown eventually

@SeattleGreyy - You're absolutely right that the host tracks add a lot of "guessing" to the game right now, especially since there were a lot of new tracks with no car history. As we continue to race on those tracks the picking should get better, just like it does when we were racing on the RLD track all of the time.

And interesting that you mention the percentage sidebar because that is on my list to put back into the game as soon as I can. I've been missing that feature too. I'm not sure why it got cut...just overlooked it I guess. It'll be back.

And here soon I will be posting the schedule for next season that will outline all the tracks we'll be racing on so if players want to ask questions and maybe see if hosts will do qualifying races or something you can. I know some of the hosts like Worpex do a lot of their own racing and post results here in the forum, so there is a lot of data to look over but I admit that can take some time and effort. Guess it all depends how bad you want to win

And thanks yet again for managing the team points and results. Despite my team sucking this season, I like seeing the weekly results. I just need to get off my ass and do some trading! There are a lot of new rookies to draft.

What I am liking about the host tracks is that if Brian has a car that I find to be typically fast but just doesn't perform on his track, the host track may have that same car. Even if it has a crappy overall w/l record for Brian, it could be the hidden gem in the bunch. You can't go based only on the W/L record and you have to use your own experience in making those picks. Looking at the track specs comes into play as well. Does the track cater to heavier cars or cars that can get out and run where weight may slow them down?

Granted my son who doesn't look at that stuff beat me this year, but its still fun to try and figure out how the cars perform on these other tracks.
