The schedule for next season is more or less finalized and will open on May 19 with three races here in Ohio and then it's a tour around the country for racing on four different host tracks. The game credits will be going full steam starting this season too, which could change the way everyone plays the game. And for the winner this season, another great diecast collector pack from Tom's Diecast Cars. It's going to be a speedy June!

Check out the release in the blog:

I have yet to add new cars for the season, that will be happening soon.

Summer Schedule
Weekend of May 26, racing in Ohio with Redline Derby
Weekend of June 2, racing in Washington with JDC442
Weekend of June 9, racing in Texas with Austin Diecast Drags
Weekend of June 16, back to Ohio
Weekend of June 23, back to Texas with Texas Diecast Racing
Weekend of June 30, back in Ohio
Weekend of July 7, racing in Pennsylvania with WorpeX Racing
Weekend of July 14, championship tournament in Ohio

And there are still opportunities for tournament sponsorships so if you care to promote your retail site, PM me.

Is there a standard credit price to unlock cars and if so, what are we talking about? Looking forward to this part and being able to garage that.

Good question. Since this will be the first season for game credits there will be a little bit of field testing...so things will probably change. That being said...

Here's how I'm going to start things off:
- Non-FTE cars = 1000 credits
- FTE cars = 1500 credits
- Unretire a car = 3000 credits

Everyone will start Season 9 with 500 credits including new sign-ups. The breakdown for credit payouts in tournaments is on the "How to play" page, but the most you can earn in a single tournament is 300 credits...so with an average of 2 tournaments per week, you could make up to 600 credits per week. If you make decent picks, you could be unlocking a new car every other week. Plus there will be achievements that give you credits and reward codes can do the same, so there are extra ways to get credits outside of picks.

Again, how much people earn and how many cars get unlocked will help determine if those prices or payouts need to change. I don't want unlocking cars to be too easy but the ability to unlock one or two cars per season should always be an option...unless you really stink at making picks, at which point hopefully credits will motivate you to improve.

There will be new cars added every season that DO NOT require unlocking, just free cars like in previous seasons, but those will be fewer than before. If I add 12 cars this season, 6 might be free and 6 need unlocking.

Part of my motivation behind the unlocking cars was so I could add cars mid-season without flooding the game with a bunch of free cars. Doing bulk additions of cars is a time suck for me so this lets me photograph cars and add them as I buy them, making things a little smoother for me. And from this point on I would expect to see more in-game rewards result in credits rather than points. I wasn't planning on switching the existing achievements from points to credit rewards but I'm not 100% sure about that either. I'd like to see player points (and thus your winning chances) result more from car picks than random rewards and achievements. In theory, with more credits you could increase your odds of bonus points from entering cars so credits leads to points.

Right now Hall of Fame cars will remain retired and not unlockable but that might change. Frankly, the unflux of non-HOF cars that can be unlocked now is HUGE so I expect a lot of great action from cars we haven't seen in a while.

It should also be noted that you will keep your credits between seasons, so you can save up credits for future seasons.

So......that's some more of the theory behind credits. If anyone has any thoughts on that or if there are any math majors than can help lead us to a happy balance in credit prices and payouts, please post.

And speaking of credits, here's something that will kick start someone's season.

Be the first to redeem this code and get 500 credits: E4AKLH

You can use the redeem link at the bottom of the Fantasy League home page or from your player dashboard.

What car will you unlock with your new found fortune?

I don't know what I'll buy because I haven't the slightest what these credits mean, but thanks for the 500! I'll have to do due diligence and figure out where I can spend these.

Okay, that makes sense. I guess I just had to sort through the list a bit harder since it was sorted by points. Considering I don't have 3,000 points, I couldn't unretire a car, haha.
