Shipping cars
I am prepping to mail out to my first race and was wondering what is the best way to package them. I figured going to the ones that receive them would be the best source to ask. I was thinking about 3D printing boxes to protect them. If this is in the wrong place I sincerely apologize. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thx.

My method is to buy snack boxes from the dollar store (they usually come in a set of 2 or 3 and cost less than a dollar a box) wrap the car in bubble wrap or packing peanuts and put in a padded envelope (also from the dollar store) and I ship all over the continental US from Canada for about $12 CAD. All in I can usually get a car out for under $15 depending on what gets sent along with the package (stickers/candy/etc.)
I started doing them like this recently...
Lemme say it for the people in the back, BUBBLEWRAP IS YOUR FRIEND. Me personally I buy those big envelopes that have bubble wrap on the inside, and then I wrap my cars in bubble wrap (roll secured with tape) before I put them in the envelope. So far it's worked well for me and majority of my cars arrive to tournamaents safe and sound.
I use bubble mailers because it's cheaper, but a lot of people use boxes and other stuff.

- I figured there was a section about it someplace...I just couldn't find it. Thanks so much! — BRUM_and_HOWL_RACING
I've never mailed a car but I printed these off and use them for storing cars I'm going to be repainting etc.they are meant for bullets but in UK shooting isn't so big here.big enough for 2 cars or print bigger for more
I usually wrap the cars individually in plastic grocery bags (I know they're illegal in some states so they might not be an option for you) then put them in layers of newspaper and bubble wrap.
Nah, you're good.
Personally, I'm not exactly sure about the 3D printed boxes, but know several people in here are using very small craft boxes, for like beads and such, that hold about two cars. For myself, I've actually used a large Tic Tac container. The car gets wrapped up in bubble wrap, stuffed into the container, the container is closed, and then shipped out in a small box to the race host. I've also used the bubblewrap packing sleeves from the Dollar Tree to send cars out, too, although with those, the possibility of the axles taking some kind of damage from the mail system is present.
