short track racing
I only have a small area for a track 12 ft at most. I was wondering how steep to make the start ramp and how long is a good size. First track so I'm pretty much a newbie. Thanks.

experiment, set it where YOU like it... if all the tracks were exact we would know the winner after the first heet...it's the tracks differences that gives a guy a chance to move up... IMO steep pitch and short runout favor heavy cars and shallow long runout tracks favor a good rolling car [we have all seen exceptions] ...the latter is my favorite as it promotes passing on the "flats"...
Here ya go, "Jersey Shore Dragway" 12' with a 18" drop 6' downhill & 6' runoff. makes for great racing.
Track is on 2 folding tables with a bridge between. No bending!!!
I'm with Smitty...angle it as you see fit and as you like. For my track, it was as steep as I could make it without the cars crashing at the transition. Of course, it also depends on your hill-to-straight ratio.
Thanks guys. Good feed back.
Take a look at WorpeX track set up. I think it's about 15ft, constant grade....exciting racing videos.
