Silver Cafe Tournament.
I'm thinking of holding a tournament at the same time we have Hot Wheels day at the Silver Café.
I'm also thinking of inviting anyone that wants to come locally to bring their car and race. The winner gets a 10 Pack of HW cars. KInd to be determined by me. If you want you guys could contribute prizes for second position and worse.
Other rules any kind of vehicle 1/64 scale.
Weight 35 to 57 grams.
FTEs allowed or any other wheel type.
Send the kind of car you build best. I would rather have one of you guys win than a local, but saying that the races will be fair and no favoritism.
All vehicles must have a red racing stripe. To stand for Redline Derby League cars.
This may be a one against one race but it is also a RDL race against everyone else.
More typical rules to come.......
Let me know if you want enter.
Benefits it will bring more donations to the Silver Café and maybe more people to the league and maybe I will start a local club here in Spokane.
First race January 19th in Spokane........

I agree with Carl, beating your local crew won't gain much favor..... How about a Pro Am race one Rld car and on local car random draw for team mates?
Edit, I am not a pro......
Sounds cool. Could any car be allowed? Like a McDonalds Happy Meal Dragster for example?

I like this idea. I will give this more thought TE.....sounds good...
I agree with EconoCarl about beating out the locals. I also like the Pro AM Series ideal. Maybe the pros could also do some feature races. My suggestion would be to have a rip and race format or class as well. I usually have a 10 (or 9) pack on hand for people (kids) without cars and ones that aren't successful - in the warm ups - to choose from.

I am letting you know upfront - I am just ragging on you - but maybe you could also donate the Happy Meal Dragster to the slowest/least distance car owner at the tournament!
Okay how about a rip and run format for the Am part and mods for the Pro half?...anyone?.....Best combined finish by both halves wins. I will only give the 10 pack package to the Am side of the race, sorry..........

As it should be!

Ya I don't know about that If it looked as nice as I envision it to be, I wouldn't be giving it up that easily I would like to make it look like a traditional Super Comp/Top Dragster looking Dragster.
This is all up in the air for the moment. So hang on......
I like this idea--especially the part about the locals getting to be on teams with pros. That may raise interest. Perhaps have that race, and another race for just the locals.
Are stockers allowed in the Pro Division?
My thought is that the locals have to win their way to team up with you guys. I'm hoping there will be more entry than the number of "Pros" in this event. The date is still to be determined......patience please.
If you're trying to start a local club and want them to keep coming back, you might rethink having RLD regulars race with them.
Probably should wet their appetites before sending them to the wolves, so to speak!
You could have a separate race for the RLDers though
