Slanman "Laned Straights"

Has anyone here purchased and used these pieces for thier track and how do you feel about them. I purchased a few for my "short" dragstrip and I am undecided still. They are good quality and they look good. They take a little effort to put together, but I still like how they look when setup. I did have to tweak a couple of the pieces so cars will go down them fairly straight. Not being a flat surface becuase they are 3d printed, cars are noisy going down the track but they still seem pretty fast. I still like them over the orange track with the coupler that sticks up between the pieces. I plan start recording some races with them soon so anyone can see them in action. They are cool and make the track look better.

I have a pair of the 180 crossover turns. I absolutely love them. One issue they do have is wider cars or tall vehicles will get stuck. They did take a bit of figgiting and adjustment when screwing them in place, but once I got it locked in they are magnificent!

  • They do look great on the tracks I have seen, and one day will get some. But yes, the normal wide car and long vehicle issue is a concern, especially when they are just "normal" castings we are used to.....But as we have seen, the 3D designers have been addressing issues as they progress, so would think eventually this issue will be solved. Hi there Freedom!

From your description, they sound good to me! Any good track builder will mention that taking your time to tune your track correctly is the secret to getting good, consistant results. (And then have a  checking schedule.) The surface to the 3D track will be the same for both cars, so I do not see an issue there. I know from testing, that even HW tracks can have differing friction co-efficients, especially with the differing designs and batches.

Good luck with it!
