SMAHT STUFF

model40fan Friday, 11/30/2012

I BOUGHT A "THUNDER CYCLE DUEL" SET FOR THE FINISHLINE, BUT IT ONLY HAD [1] PADLE, THE LANES MERGE INTO JUST ONE... BUMMER...INTO THE FAST FRED JUNKBOX...
BUT THE LAUNCHER SET UP IS COOL, IT HAS A GREEN DISC THAT TUMBLES DOWN THROUGH A MAZE TO BECOME STAGING, READY AND GREEN STARTING LIGHTS TO LAUNCH THE RACERS...
BUT THERE ARE [2] LITTLE GREEN PEGS THAT ARE NOT QUITE BALANCED SO THAT THEY STICK UP THROUGH THE BASE UNDER THE XMAS TREE.
THE GUTS ARE A SERIES OF BEVELED LINKAGES AND BELCRANKS SO THAT UNTIL THE DISC PUSHES THE PEGS DOWN YOU CANNOT LAUNCH THE RACERS...[REDLIGHT-NO LEAVING TOO SOON] ... SMAHT VERY SMAHT.

I have one of those bases without the tree...gutted it so you can just launch the two cars anytime. Good for the kiddos when I set up for charity stuff...haven't done that in awhile...need to with the Christmas approaching

yeh the kids like to gravity race down, but they love it when i let the two of them "launch" the cars back to the starer line.
i hopped up a pair of launchers with postal elastics doubled up, added loop de loops to the return lanes...
... pup racers heaven !
working on a square frame [coathanger] with [4] metal paper clamps wire tied to the corners, it is sized to clamp one sheet of toilet paper.... add a jump and you are "starring" in a late '60's new car advertizement..... future wopex video ?
