Some ideas...
I have noticed a few of the work bench photos on here, and I find it interesting to see the different ways we do things. And since I have yet to figure out how to post photos, I will try to briefly describe a couple things that work for me.
When I open a b/pack, I use the plastic tray to hold the project parts while i am working on another. I soon found out they can fill up a work bench rather quickly. So, I use the plastic tubs that come with the sandwich lunch meat from the grocery store. Put one or two projects( or more) in a tub and snap it shut. They stack nice, you can identify the project through it, and most importantly, if it falls over you don't lose any parts or break anything. Also helps keep track of your inventory, so you don't hork a part out of a pile, not remembering it was earmarked for another idea.

I was also wanting to experiment with using "caulking" ( you know, the stuff we hate to use around our sinks and bathtubs) as a paint for the look of leather seats or vinyl roofs. Just haven't gotten to it yet... Any thoughts??
I have also seen a post or two on here about windshield mocking after chopping, or otherwise altering a roofline, and the problem it can cause fitting in a new screen... How 'bout this... ( again, I have yet to try it, but in theory....... Maaayyybeeee???)
Elmer's glue dries mostly clear. I am sure there are others as well. Spread some as thick as you feel will work, on saran wrap or foil. Let it dry. It might be flexible enough to cut with a knife or scissors, and shape, bend twist or fold right into place.
Again, untested, but curious....

Another recent discovery I stumbled on the other morning....
I have to give the initiail product idea credit to my wife for finding it, but it did not hit me until I was wrapping up the other day the impact of what it might/could do for us all.
Product: floral arrangement wire. 20 guage painted white or green
18 inch lengths qty 30/ for around a dollar at wally world etc
Uses: it fits perfectly in the axle groove. Kinda snug and bends very easy
But, if you are painting or glueing the inside of a base, it might help keep it out of the axle track. Some tires will fit very snug with no glueing necessary. And when mocking up, you can very easily bend the soft axle to acheive whatever stance you are looking for. Sure, it will never work for racing since the wheels will never turn, but it will save a fortune in manhours for a shelf sitting show car. Not to mention, when one does find the perfect wheels/tire combo on a donor car, a quick nonglueing swap out might take a whopping 82 seconds or less. Lol.
