Speed on a Budget

Does anyone know how to make a fast car on a budget? These are some of the stuff I have:
Drill
Drill bits
Nail filer
1" wire wheel
JB Weld
FTE axles
Graphite
360 grit sandpaper

If you have to deal with axle length problems, getting some 1/16" tubing from the hobby store is handy. Cut the tubing the width of your chassis. Cut the FTE axle in half and then slide it into the tubing.

You can still sand the wheels in the chassis, and graphite the axles. That and making sure the car travels straight go along way. On any of the slo-motion videos you can see which cars "hug the rail" and which ones are "neutral" in the lane.

I've never understood sanding the wheels...if anything I think it.s most likely you'd make them less round unless you had a really good system....
How do you cut brass pipes without mashing its ends?
