Disclosure: Post sponsored by Lunchbox for Walmart but all opinions are my own. Please see below for additional disclosure.

Last year I was asked to review some of the exclusive cars Walmart is offering with their Hot Wheels Race Rewards program, where you buy cars at Walmart and then cash in those receipts to get exclusive cars. The School Busted and big Monster Jam truck weren't bad cars at all, even if they weren't ideal for the track...although, I must admit that every time I look at the School Busted, I have a notion to mod the heck out of that. Such a nice, heavy metal construction. Load that sucker up with more weight, slap on some FTE axles with new tires and I think you could have a good winner...but anyway…

I know a lot of you have been using Hot Wheels Race Rewards since last year, so please share your rewards photos in a reply. Rewards programs don't always offer the best quality stuff but these Race Rewards really gives out some good looking exclusives.

The holidays are right around the corner and I've been told that the Hot Wheels Race Reward points expire at the end of the year on 12/31 so those of you with points, make sure you use them. And for the folks that aren't in the program...well, no better time to start than the time of year when you'll probably be buying a ton of cars for kids across your family and friends.

All you have to do is sign-up at HotWheelsRewards.com and then follow the instructions. I've read mixed reviews about the redeeming process but I don't think anyone can complain about getting the free cars...it's worth it.

It also looks like that outside of exclusive cars, you can use your points to get the Hot Wheels Race Rewards Holiday Bundle Pack that includes free track. And we all know you can never have too much track.

When you log in at HotWheelsRewards.com, you'll see all the nifty freebies you can get by cashing in points. Some are "cheap" while others may take some time to redeem...not unlike getting tickets at the old arcade.

The easiest reward to get is probably the free basic mainline car. It's only 150 points...so a good gift-buying trip to Walmart will probably earn you several of them. And again the program includes the Monster Jam line with an exclusive "Monster Mutt" truck. As I said last year, these monster trucks might not be great for racing but they're great on the carpet, over pillows or in the sandbox.

There's only 2 months until Christmas so why not start your car shopping early and get a chance at some free Hot Wheels Race Rewards exclusives? Just head to Walmart and don't forget, you have to use all your points before December 31...after that they all go away. I don't know if this means the Race Rewards program ends in 2015 or if things just reset for another year, but don't leave money (and cars) on the table!

As mentioned above, this is a sponsored post to promote the Hot Wheels Race Rewards program, but the words and opinions are my own. I love Hot Wheels so anything that can help spread that fun is alright with me.

Worst program EVER created.  Hate with every ounce of energy in my body.  STAY ASAP!  I sent off 27 mail ins online back in October and still have not received 1 item from them.  I emailed them severe times and they always said they would ship soon.  I just emailed them again and it was returned saying their email address is permanently shut down.  I only found this article because I was searching for a good way to file a BBB complaint against them.  I still have over 20,000 points that I never used.  I bought tons of extra hot wheels just for the rewards.  I'm furious to say the least.  This is by far THE WORST REWARDS PROGRAM I'VE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN!  Some of my friends actually did receive cars in the mail from them and not one of their orders were correct!  Not one!

@ RedmanRace:  That sounds like the usual business with Mattel to me. They have had a terrible history with backorders in the past. I have never had issues with my mail-ins but alot of people do. I heard from a guy at a local Hot Wheels collector club that they have only shipped out 1 of the RLC cars from last year.

No problems for me, I got what I ordered with my points in a timely mannet.  I just had issues sometimes getting my points but they would always fix it when I emailed them.
