How do the teams work? Is there any way to see who is on what team?

You found the big gapping hole that I failed to notice the entire time I was building! I too just noticed that last night when I was making other updates. Having a team listing page is definitely something I'll be adding soon.

Gotta admit that teams were somewhat of an after thought, which is stupid because I really think they will be a good draw for people, especially those who may not be as hardcore from the get go.

I also need to tie an e-mail notice to team membership requests too. Right now when a player clicks the "Join" link you (as team manager) have to check the "Your Team" link from your dashboard to handle requests.

Thanks for the feedback. It'll get added...it's on my for-sure list.

Oh...guess I failed to answer the "how do teams work part"...

Anyone can create a team. If you create a team you're a member of that team and can't join another team.

Players can request to join your team. You then have the choice to accept their membership or deny it. You can also remove people once they've joined if you want.

Any points members earn while in a team are added to the team's total score. Team score is taken from current members only. So if Bob joins Team A and earns 200 points, Team A gets 200 points added to the score. But if he leaves Team A, those 200 points don't get deducted from the team...just like any normal sport.

Again, I really need to polish up the teams part of the game and also add some details about it to the How to Play page. Hopefully this weekend.

I just took a quick look at some of the team functions and none of it looks to be working exactly right, so I'll be clearing out all team records, including names, scores, members, etc. Once fixed you'll be able to create teams again and do the whole member thing. I hope to hook up the e-mail notices at the same time.

Sounds like the team with the most players would most likely be the team with the most points. Will there be a limit to how many players can be on one team? Seems as though this would work best if teams were comprised of an equal amount of players. Not sure though, could be missing something

There aren't any limits on teams right now. I guess I didn't really plan on doing so because I wasn't really expecting to put a lot of emphasis on teams. If you have a team with friends, great, but if you don't then you should still be able to have fun playing the game.

If teams turns out to be a big deal for folks then we can address aspects of it. Of course, just because a team has lots of players doesn't mean they'll do good - it's still about picking the right cars.

I just updated the beta so teams should now be working. You can create teams and join teams. If you create a team, you should get an e-mail when other players ask to join your team.
