I ask Brian to lock the "Featherweight Challenge" thread. I wasn't trying to stop the discussion of lightweight cars, just thought the thread title "Featherweight Challenge" was confusing now that we have a race thread started here: http://www.redlinederby.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=645

I wasn't trying to step on any toes and I know there needs to be a thread still so here it is!

GspeedR, thanks for posting the IROC-Z video. I've been looking for that casing to replicate a buddy of mine's racecar. Now I'm anxious to see how it races. If there's enough interest I'd like to see an under 30g challenge in the future (using Brian's new web-stuff!).

Ok, so I finally got a scale yesterday...amazed how many cars I just had laying around were in the 30-35g range.

Now I will be spending tonight weighing all of my cars.

You could even put them in your cases in order by weight!!!
I did, but I've only got around 200 opened cars.

I had a small diecast collection of cars I liked. I was born in '57, so I always picked up anything 1957, alot of British cars (we had a repair shop in the 60-70s) as well as other cars that hit the old memory button.

I didn't have what you'd call a collection, but since meeting up with you guys I've acquired quite a few cars. I now have more unopened than I do open ones, for future projects ya' know!

On the topic of "scales"...I just ordered one of these:

http://www.americanweigh.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=424

The scale platform seems to be large enough for weighing our 1/64th scale cars. After reviewing the specs of other pocket/jewelery scales, it seems that many of their platforms might be rollin' boat anchors off of my little scale! )
