Searching for the perfect washer
Hi all, I'm having a challege sourcing washers for when dismantling cars and then screwing them back together. The washers that I have been using are from Home Depot and Lowes, and thery're not ideal as they don't work great for sizing (slightly too big, so most time they will bend when screwing the base back into the body of a car).
So, where's the best place to get hobby-grade washers? Would really appreciate your recommendations, as I don't want to keep using the ones I've found (they suck).

I've been using Ace Hardware locally and The Rusty Bolt Shop on eBay when I'm to lazy to make the trek to Ace.
I have been using these for my customs. If you're not using self-tappers these will change your life for the better! The washers fit perfectly in the rivet recesses.

Just to follow up these screws will self tap just fine - depending on your drill bit size you may need a small drop of oil in the hole. I've recently moved to a slightly bigger bit and the screws go right in. Unfortunately I'm out of town this week. The bit size is one up from a 1/16 bit

Believe it or not, you can use screws from old computers and junked R/C cars. I had a bunch of junked R/C cars, so I went through and pulled all the screws out, salvaged whatever parts I could, then threw out the rest. Those screws, when tapped correctly, will fit in the posts for the HW & MBX cars.(Note: this will NOT work on the older cars, as the posts are too thin. You will need smaller screws.)
If you have an old computer or printer that no longer works, you can raid the screws from those, too. Many have washers already built in.

well, since I am a nut, I make my own out of brass flat stock
drill the hole the same as your post,
then figure how wide you need it
and use this
