Smitty, I am glad you brought up the Rhode Island air because its been very HOT and HUMID here and the forecast is calling for the same on Sunday here in Lincoln. We will probably have the AC on in the YMCA so we will see if that will make a difference in the racing. Just a quick note on heat and cool air for the racing! July because we raced in the YMCA Pavilion the times were slow and August when we went back into our regular bldg. at the YMCA because we had the air conditioners on the times were much faster. Does anybody agree with racing in cooler temps vs. hotter temps that it changes your racing ?

I would first guess that cars go faster in the heat, but it the track is cold and more '"stiff" maybe the cold air helps. My track is in a big storage shed and I've raced in very very cold temps...it's been a while since it was really cold here, but I do remember a difference. Mostly I think with the seams between the pieces of track being effected.

The track ran very well today in fact we had a cool front come through lastnight here in RI which made for great racing today in all our classes. We had a few of the members stick around to see the Top Sportsaman series and they enjoyed watching them. I will be posting pictures on our facebook page so check out www.facebook.com/ljlrc

Looks like the JDC is holding his own against the stockers, so far! Smitty is hanging in there too.

It's a beautiful day for racing here in eastern CT. Tucked in a lovely Victorian in New London, CT, FOTF Speedway is a 19' 8" Drag Tracks set up spanning 2 rooms on the 1st floor. The incline is 5' long with a 46" vertical drop at slightly less than 45 degrees. The straight away is 13' 4" with a 1' 4" transition piece. The track is home to 2 racing teams, Fastest of the Fastest (FOTF) Racing as well as Sinisterdog Racing. Cameron Daly and Tim Daly, the primary operators of the facility are members in good standing of both the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club where they each serve on the race committee, as well as the Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club.

Althpugh it was a disapointing day for the Home Teams, it was an exciting day of racing for the Top Sportsman Series. FOTF Speedway did a very nice job on its innaugural Red Line Derby event. There were no injuries reported for participants or spectators and food and beverage vendors had a profitable day. The management wishes to extend a warm welcome to Red Line Derby for any future events you'd like to hold here.
