Video: Lighter vs. heavier vs. FTE

RedlineFan1 Thursday, 3/21/2013

I spent the first quarter of my school's film making class putting this together.

Enjoy!

Nice video! Hope you got an A.

I'm glad you made the distinction in the end between Hot Wheels and a real car. In a real car lighter is faster. It's all about the Horse Power to weight ratio.

I have been wondering if weight really makes that much difference with Hot Wheels and after your testing it appears that it does.

So it would appear.

What the video also shows, though, is that specialized wheels do help increase speed, but NOT necessarily on their own. If I had put FTEs on the added/reduced weight cars and compared them to added-reduced weight cars with regular wheels, the result would most likely be noticeable, but not huge by any means.

I wish I had the time to include that concept in the video...but I didn't think of it while I was filming - and it already took me a quarter to edit!

(By the way, I got an 100 in the class, and finally achieved a spot on Dean's List. )
