Weekend scores

Went to a Toy and Collectibles show this past weekend. I got lucky and ended up with a gig in the same town as one of these shows...so I had the chance to go in and browse. Quite the eye opener for a HW rookie like myself.

Itd be easy to let it get out of control depending on the level you want to collect at eh? My goodness....there was one guy there selling rarer Treasure Hunts for anywhere between 25 and 50 bucks a pop. (No thanks )

Anyway, wandered around and picked up a few scores. Pricing for most mainlines, no matter who it was, was about 2 bucks per right across the board. Considering a new mainline at Walmart is a $1.54 after taxes, I find 2 bucks, no tax, to be quite reasonable, and is my ceiling. I won't pay more than $2 unless its something really awesome.

So I walked out of there about 30 bucks poorer with a nice little bag of odds and ends. Including these

Couldn't pass this up, given my love for this version of the Mustang. This is a JL one. (sorry...my cam sucks)

I laughed out loud when I saw this on a guy's table, and couldn't pass it up at 2 bucks. It was one of my favorite Sat Morning cartoons when I was a kid, and I had no idea HW had ever released one in his honor. For those who arent familiar. Hong Kong was a mild mannered dog...who was the janitor in a police station. He was voiced by Scatman Crothers. Whenever some bad guys got up to no good, the dog would jump though this contraption that was like a Rube Goldberg version of the Bat-Pole, and come out the other side as Hong Kong Phooey - supreme (and mostly inept) saturday morning ass kicker.

I've been diggin' the Atari arcade cars I've seen on the pegs. Don't have any yet as I hope they'll go on sale eventually...they're like $5 and that's just a little much for me right now.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the Hanna-Barbera cars too...if they have a Herculoids or Space Ghost car I'll pay any price!

On the back of the card on this one it says there's 6 in the set: this Hong Kong Phooey one that I got, a Yogi Bear 64 GMC Panel, a Scooby Doo 77 Dodge van, A Flintstones 56 Ford panel, A Tom n Jerry Hiway Hauler and a Jetsons Surfin School Bus. Looks like it was a 2011 release.

Don't normally go for licensed theme cars, but this one was fun. They all go for around 5 bucks (4.93 plus tax @ Wally) when theyre new on the pegs here too. I give em a pass mostly. I almost bought a Miss Piggy Pink Station Wagon of some type too, and a Statler and Waldorf one too....but I resisted.
