What would you do?
Hey everyone, I need some opinions from my fellow race hosts. So I'm currently not sure what to do..... As some of you may know I have 2 races coming up within the next couple months, but I've run into a problem with some of the entries. In my rules section I have listed that all cars are to be modified and have a similar paint job/ team name somewhere on the car. The problem is 1. I have received cars from someone who did not signup for the race. 2. The cars are not modified at all. And 3. Not only are the cars not modified but the cars look (to put it nicely) like they were dug out of the ground. Body's damaged, rusty axles, Etc....
All that being said they did pay the entry fee and if it's a kid that just sent in cars I don't want to turn them away. They put an email on the entry form but for the life of me I can't make out what it says.
Do I just send the cars back? Or do I keep the entry fees and let the cars run. (My concern is with 4 cars running at a time in one of the races that means at some point another car is going to get robbed of any chance to compete if they are behind those cars?)

Obviously I'm not a race host just yet but I personally wouldn't let them race against the rest of the field that did follow all the rules. You could always run just their 2 cars together and maybe a couple house cars and throw it in at the end of a video or as a halftime show. Explaining before they run why it is they aren't qualified for the race. Then they'd at least get to see their cars run and gives them the chance to learn for the next time. Not sure if it was entry fee + return shipping money but if so you could also send the entry fee portion back with the cars.
Here's my 2 cents......You're right, don't want to offend a youngster (if that would be the case).
The cars do not meet the posted requirements of the race so racing them in the tournament is not fair to the other actual entrants.
I would run these cars against some of my house cars and give this person some screen time. Explaining they don't qualify for the actual tournament but you wanted to give them a run anyways.........then return the cars and the entrance fee.....and ask them to keep working on cars, keep trying and enter some more races to gain experience.
