What's your favorite oddball casting?

Maybe oddball isn't the right word....maybe fantastical?

I've always leaned towards castings of real life muscle and drag style cars. I'm also a fan of...I guess you'd consider them "fantasy hot rod" type cars....like Fangula, Bone Shaker, Surf Crate etc. Even if they aren't based on anything real, they still sorta look like they'd belong at a drag strip.

But of course Hot Wheels also devotes casting to more outlandish cars, and I think they're meant to be mostly aimed at the kids. These ones, as far as I know, have no basis in reality. As a rule I don't pay much attention to those ones, but I came across one in a small collection I bought. I didn't like at first, but it grew on me and became one of my faves.

Anyway, just because I'm curious, and just for sake of conversation, what's everyones favorite "no basis in realty" casting?

Mine is this one called Brutalistic. (The one I got is a first edition casting according to the Hot Wheels Wiki...its the purple one with yellow glass)

An amazingly fast weir casting is Dog Fighter. Looks like a WW1 fighter plane stubby wings and propeller. Pretty darn fast.

Lol...that one's kind of out there for sure. I have another one (deep in a box somewhere)who's name escapes me. Kinda looks like an old fighter plane without wings or fins....basically a bullet with wheels. Its painted camo and I believe it has USAF emblems (or something reminiscent anyway) on it.

This collection I just picked up had a few oddities in it. Helicopter, scooter... as well as a few kiddie type cars. They went in the box as prizes and/or party favors. But Brutalistic, I kept.

Also got a couple of "Sceamin Haulers". Haven't pulled them out of the pack yet but they seem to have a nice weight and stance. Got a feeling they'll be fast.

Yup that's it. Exact same one too. Although the card mine is on doesn't say Rod Squadron series.

I've always been a fan of the "Speed Blaster". I don't know why. The car isn't even that fast. It just looks cool. haha

I like that one too. Don't have one but I wouldn't throw it back. Actually, that one sorta fits the same category as another of my faves...the Twinduction. Its vaguely Mustang-like...not too outlandish. Says its based on a BMW, but it says Mustang to me. (I have a green one and the red one numbered 06 like a stock car)

Also, I've seen yellow Diesel Boys warming the pegs at Walmart and wasnt really a fan...then I came across a red one which kinda struck my fancy. I grabbed that one. Funny how the color can change an impression eh? (I'd love one of the black ones)

I've always liked Shell Shock

not my favorite castings but I mailed out a funny mustang to CANADA, a couple dead johnies to CT. and I gave Hillsboro the bird [and a half]...
