If you install axle tubes, and extend them past the frame, to make for a wider stance, will the plastic wheel wear a groove into itself from the metal tube?
Not if you sand and polish the tube end well
I agree with Blue Line. Quite a few miniature car chassis have a bushing of sorts where the wheels and axles attach to keep said wheels in minimal contact. Rounding the ends of the axle tubes and keeping the surface smooth would have the same effect and keep the tubes from doing any gouging to the wheels.
Round the ends of the axel tubes,then keep them dry lubed before you race,it works for me
