When is too long - too long?
I've held off on this issue for quite awhile as I understand hosting is a big deal lots of work. Heck keeping my minuscule track running smooth is a labor of love. But as we've seen in other threads about hosting there is a point of - what the hell is going on? And that's where I'm at this morning.
So I have to ask Epvideos what's the plan on the Pikes Peak Muscle Car Event. Big deal about cars and $ due in October last year. We are now at 7 months past then and I see plenty of F1 action etc. on the track. These sort of things begin to feel like a write-off at some point.

As my Mom would say ( SH!& or get off the Pot! ) As a Host it is Vitaly important ( for me ) to try and let the Teams know what is going on. Top Three turvey cars have been gone more than a year???? would Love to get them back, IDLR Cars Multi - Track Race last seen at Sneaky Bobs and off to Never Never land?
Am VERY Wary of sending in cars that go ByBY! Some hosts just have Intergrity. I do my Business of Hosting like anything I have done in my life. My word is as good as a hand shake or a written agreement, To be fulfilled come Hell or High water.

Certainly the type of post I do not relish seeing, and one inspired after other attempts at comms failed to get anywhere, I'm assuming
Not a perfect analogy here, but if I was unprepared or unable to run the weekly tabletop fantasy game without explanation, my players are going to go to someone else's house eventually

- That’s fair Chris but on a previous thread about hosting issues a few months back he acknowledged the race was late but still on the books. He has time to put up a hot GT car and run F1 races on his track so I have to say - What up dog on these races. — AbbyNormal

Hello there! Sounds like you are looking for answers. I would be happy to oblige! I do apologize for the delay and know you are all very excited to see some cars race. I appreciate your enthusiasm! As you all know, this is a hobby for me. My dreams of doing this as a full-time job are slipping through the cracks. I will say, when I made my announcements for racing, I bit off more than I can chew. But I always follow through. With that said, I’ve filmed the first episode of Muscle Car Rally and am looking forward to sharing it with you soon.
I would also like to take this moment to thank everyone that has supported the channel and the RACING! However, with the continued backlash (and YES, I am to be blamed, rightfully so), I would like to announce this is the last mail-in tournament I will be hosting to the public. I don’t know what the future holds for epvideos... but I cannot deliver for the Builders in the ways I had wished. I would rather admit failure than continue to let all you amazing people down! Thanks again and keep an eye out in the next week for the tournament to begin!

- I feel exactly where you’re at. For the time it takes to complete videos and the pressure of having peoples cars it can become a major headache especially when videos seem to get less and less views. I will likely make one more track and take mail ins and then I might be done. — Chaos_Canyon
Thanks for the update and congrats on your hot time posted at Thunder County. That's not easy on a demanding track like that, frankly I'm just hoping not to DNF. Sorry your plans are currently in upheaval that's never a good time. I know you have quite a reputation of holding awesome races on your track which is what attracted me in the first place. So I've been hanging back on a post like this but this morning it just popped. Keep us posted on progress and I hope you can find some sort of balance in this hobby going forward. It's a hobby for me too and I put time and $$ into cars, supplies, and postage. Best of luck.
Let me edit this and say you don't need to admit failure or at least total failure. Course corrections are an inevitable part of life, hell it may even be an opportunity in the end.
I'm still new to the racing and hosting thing. My recent event I started formulating back in September, I posted the sign up in January and started filming in May. Looking back on that time frame I can now see how hosting can snowball and get out of control. There were a few times in that 8 months from start to finish where I thought, "I have plenty of time to run a little tournament while I'm waiting on car to arrive." I'm glad I didn't because those added races would've caused delays and caused the main race to be compromised. I do very limited production value in my videos and they still can take a good chunck of the day to get filmed, loaded, edited and posted. The hosts that do graphics, voice overs, sound effects, thumbnails....wheoo! Those things would be cool but would take away from the enjoyment for me personally. It would go from hobby to career :) All this to say as both a host and a participant, communication from the host is the key.

Cutoff date for me is six months. After that, I'm done.
I realize that real life happens, but if a host can't spare a couple of minutes to write a post and say, "Hey, this is what's going on, sorry for the delay," then that's it for me. At that point, the car is a write-off, and i move on.
I know Rubber Tow (Monster Motorsports) still has a bunch of my cars from three years ago, but I'll never see those again.
