Where is DiecastDude?
I still have his PO Box address:
PO BOX 249, HARTWOOD, VA. 22471
I thought his track was destroyed or he had a death in the family or something. Sad all around.
- Yeah he said his dog destroyed his track, but he rebuilt it and did a few more races of the Summer Rally Series, then nothing. Said he'd run the semi truck race in the fall. I hope it isn't something bad, but like some said, communication is key. It is sad all around for sure.. — G_ForceRacing
- he had just "recovered" from serious health issues — dr_dodge
- Hindsight I guess.... Conman — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- Maybe we should should be start viewing "A PO addess" as a red flag unless other location clarity is verified? — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- And have a formal name — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- I think the sad thing is many good people have been conned — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- Just giving the benefit of the doubt considering he had been on YT and consistently posting races before he went dark, unlike the Squid Games guy. — FeralPatrick
- I understand that sentiment Feral, I too like to be that way, but gee, we have sadly seen too many we know get burnt. Cheers, hope all is well. — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- PO Box should not be seen as a red flag. It's a smart flag. You shouldn't been keen on posting your home address on message boards. Having a POB should be a must-have if you're receiving shipments regularly. — redlinederby
I know there is more than 1 location/participant at MCR. I have 2 cars in California at WesCoasin's that got sent to the New Years Battle Royal (2024). Mailed in November 2023. One of those cars has not been on screen yet. I asked him to just send back my cars over a month ago.....no reply. But different events keep running with MCR.....? Why not just finish the Battle Royal.
Dutch
- Just reading Dutch. That is a fair question to ask. I enjoy watching their stuff. Maybe try another message? As yes their seems to be a few contributing. But from here, downunder hard to know! Cheers, good luck. — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- What's his YouTube channel? — Zizzer_Prime
- @miniature car racing — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
- There are 2 different locations under that MCR name - they are brothers I think. WesCoasin is the one not replying to me. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
lets start a thread of "lost cars and races"
If I fell dead today, my wife and I have a COG plan
we have already discussed if I had a race.....lots of notes
First, and formost, mrs dr would tell y'all, and every
social media, well dr is kaput
and then sort it out from there, but, who knows
things to think about
dr
- 100% hear you! There are quite a few responsible people out there! As a community, we have to work out/find a way to ensure we know who is running an event, where they are have some sort of assurity they will do "the right thing!" — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- I just submitted my first ever hosting event, I'll probably have the cars for filming until the end of 2025 but I never thought of that since I'm among the younger half of the millennials... but I'll save everyone's packaging with their addresses. — HSLmotorsports
- I think we need two threads: one for ‘I got my cars back’, and another for ‘I didn’t get my cars back. I have some concern about the ‘didn’t get my cars back’ thread cuz you know someone will get impatient and post that so-and-so has my cars only to receive them a week or so later. But then the damage is done for that host. — AbbyNormal
I'm new to the hosting game, but I've been a member here since 2021 and established myself as a builder and racer first. I too have been bitten by the 'cash for return' and 'never saw my entries race' snakes in the grass hosts!
I have chosen to take the high road when it comes to hosting, and attempting to be as transparent as possible when it comes to receiving cars, return payment (PayPal preffered for receipt) and cars returned after my first race. I've even taken it to the next level of communication by posting updates on the original race thread and sending tracking information to individuals privately, or here on RLD so people know when to expect the retun of their cars. I work in an office environment and in my carreer I am a Purchasing Agent and Expediter, so it is my nature to communicate effectively. It's not "Rocket Surgery" (LOL), but if you're not organized I can see where it can be a daunting task.
Myself, I have implemented a new return shipping policy for 2025 that I 'think' will work for most people. I know 'Rubbertow' was considering a similar policy before he decided to retire form the hobby, so I thought I would give it a try. Basically, if you send me a car for a race you would pay the entry fee and a one-time return shipping fee. If you were to enter another race later in the year you would only be required to pay the entry fee. I will hold all of your cars until the end of my racing season, and return them all in December of 2025, thus eliminating the task of retuns after every event. This will not only save me time and aggrivation, but save builders some in retun shipping.
I also think some sort of rating system or thread is in order to give propper accolades to good hosts, and fore-warn new builders of those who have a sketchy 'track record' when it comes to communication and returns.
Thank You All for your input and advice!
Kind Regards,
"Craigster Sr."
- got my camaro back, so thank you for that! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
- Thank you for your first event and yes, have had great communications with you. I have no problem with your 2025 return policy. I only get my cars back form the US a couple of times a year anyway. Thanks also to those that assist my logistics etc. — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- I considered a similar mailing schedule when I began to understand the task at hand of mailing back cars and ultimately I didn’t go through with it because some people want to race the cars somewhere else and particularly when it comes to stock cars. I also think when you leave cars with someone for a year it becomes hard to track what you have and where is it. I also think assuming anyone will still be in this hobby a year out is a huge assumption. The bottom line is though, it’s your race, your rules and as long as you communicate them affectively then anyone could decide what races are good for them and what races to pass on. — BlueLineRacing
- Well put BLR. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- Much appreciated feedback! I totally understand people wanting their cars back ASAP for whatever reason, myself included. I am going to use this new return policy as more of a 'disclaimer' or agreement than a hard fast 'rule'. I will always be willing to make exceptions with proper communication privately. I will most likely be running four 'Modified Cars Only' races, leaving room for a couple of collaboration races mixed in. Those races will most likely be a mix of both Stock & Modified entries with returns happening directly after the completion of the event. I'm also going to be much more selective in my own race entries in 2025, and go with more of a 'Quality over Quantity' approach, but I'll still need time to build. It's just me and my Son, Craig Junior these days, so I have more spare time than most guys my age. This is my favorite hobby and it keeps my just the right amount of busy! (And out of trouble!) — CraigsterSr
- Quality over Quantity is always the best choice in racing. You don’t have to make every race. — BlueLineRacing
- Craigster, I totally get your reasoning for 1 time shipping. But as a rookie it is important for me to get my cars back as a data collection tool. For instance, my Camaro made final 8 in your most recent race. When I get the car back I will have a great benchmark for my next builds, knowing how much more speed I need to find. I really enjoyed the Camaro Cavalcade. Thanks for hosting! — Zamak_Speed_Shop
- Zamak_Speed_Shop Understood, and those are the type of exceptions I am grateful and willing to make with communication. Data collection is a vital part of the hobby for sure! If told you how much 'Chicken Grease' I've used so far it would blow your mind! HAHAHA! Thank You! — CraigsterSr
- Great points made by everyone! If the new return policy makes it easier and you are willing to host more races because of it....it makes sense to me. I know before sending it off that it will be there for the year....I can make the decision to send or not to. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
- I just messaged RubberTowon Facebook to see if he was okay. I know I have a lot of cars with him, ones I'd like to get back.......... hopefully he'll answer, but I dunno ....... he's been off social media for about a year, so I may have to write all those cars off, too. A shame ... I sent him some really nice ones. — SpyDude
I couldn't bare the guilt of not returning cars after the trust given that they would be.
Especially after the entertainment they have given all of us that see them race.
Let's hope there is a valid explanation and this gets sorted out, but kinda seems unlikely due to the non response from all enquiries.
- Sadly, this has occurred with a few event promoters over the years. Cheers. — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- I completely agree, mrs dr knows I could never cheat, on her, or anything in life, It would eat me alive. — dr_dodge
A fart in the wind. His YouTube channel says Hong Kong.
