World tournament idea
"I was thinking ???? about how we could make diecast a world tournament, and this idea crossed my mind. We all have our track racing in different places across the world. So, everyone creates a tournament in their country and gets members to come and race. If each host can pick the best racers (2 or 3) in their tournament from different parts of the world, we can bring them together to race in a particular Tracklane (every two years should be once). This can attract more people across the world to participate in diecast tournaments. This is my idea. What do you think ?????"

Quick look just at this website; you have a track listing with 23 pages of about 12 tracks per page. That is an easy 250+ without duplicates race tracks. Even if only 10% of these tracks decided to nominate a trio of their top 3 drivers on their participating track, that 75 drivers or so right there. Now you have other websites who may have their own list of tracks, and other countries, etc....
The logistics seems like a governing body would have to be had to control all the logistics and what would be a sanctioned event where someone might get mad if they were not nominated, but finsihed real well.
Cool to have a world champion, but do we need a world champion?
- I'm thinking 2 or 3 winners per country, but that's flexible based on the number of participating tracks. If we have more tracks, we can adjust to one winner per track. We've run a couple of international tournaments, that involved 2, 4 and one that had 8 tracks and the management of it is the biggest hurdle. Not saying it can't be done, just that the amount of work to make it happen, coordinate all the vehicles etc is a huge task, so just be prepared to put in a lot of hours organising and chasing.
You might also run into issues of specs for each race being different - weights, lubes, body styles etc. Plus a lot of the top racers compete at all the tracks, so would they just claim all the spots or could a driver only enter one car, and which one if they have multiple winning entries? Just things to consider

As a lot of the results are posted on here, you could do an international invitational and then get each driver to submit a new car specifically for a worlds tournament. Then you'd just need to organise the key tracks to compete across.
This is going to be monumental! We'll capture the attention of Mattel Hot Wheels and other diecast producers, opening doors for partnerships and growth. Track racers and hosts will reap the benefits, and diecast collectors worldwide will join in, making it a thrilling experience. [Cries in IDRL] The first one went off well but 2.0 of the International Diecast Racing League appears to have stalled. One host dropped from the roster and needed a stand-in venue and the whole blooming thing has gone long with no new races
Kudos for the enthusiasm, it can be harrowing enough thanks to shipping irregularities for drivers & hosts with a single event, so even a two channel collaboration in neighbouring states gets all the respect and praise from me
- agree about IDRL, a great idea. maybe the best would sign up by country, as internal shipping is easier than international. that is providing there is more than 1 track/country. also cars that run lets say 50-100 would probably be needing service in between (lube, cleanup, etc) — dr_dodge

- Could run one track per country if that country only has a small pool to choose from. Then the winner of each country competes internationally at a single voted on venue? That way the same car could be used for a builder the entire way through the competition and should keep the costs down as only one international mail in. - Our Group B Rally Tournament has four tracks, and is close to finished on track three at Hairy Man Mountain Run. Gravity Throttle Racing is the last host! (Gonna be epic!) It IS a lot of work to organize and execute, make sure you have the costs worked out, shipping 32+ cars can get expensive, esp. internationally! — G_ForceRacing

The DIRS is still one of my favourite Diecast experiences...it was my first major accomplishment as a racer/builder...BUT...when you look at the roster of tracks...NONE of them exist anymore...some channels remain...and I will go out on a limb to say it was the PINNACLE of the hobby to date. A few people have tried to emulate that magic, but I don't think it will ever be as good as that first DIRS

I did enjoy the DIRS series but man, it was so much work to make sure everyone was posting videos when they should, cars were sent on time etc. Had a few hiccups but I managed to make sure we never missed a weeks delivery of the latest video - that was 8 months of racing with a new vid every week and cars being shipped all over the place. — Chaos_Canyon
Dr_Dodge and Chipped paint racing, your ideas are great and also we can find I way to get International shipping to cost lesser I mean we will figure it out. Love this idea! Having national tracks and a single international venue could streamline the competition and reduce costs. The suggestion to have multiple rounds for countries with larger pools makes sense. One potential consideration could be ensuring that the international venue's track conditions and rules are well-documented and communicated to all participants to ensure fairness. When details are kind of proposed and settle, maybe the head of the program can get a hold of the hot wheels or die cast convention events, and build a track there. Have everyone wanting to race in it, bring their cars.
Car track(s) can be given out of what will be build on site of the convention, and racers can prepare.
These conventions usually have space like ballrooms and banquet rooms to hold such an event where a track, officials, registering, etc... can take place. Do a pre-register so final count can be had, divisions setup, regionals, etc...
The possiblities are endless, so a few people on a board to help guide and provide the background of rules and etiquette can be set.
I wish you luck on the endeavor. It is a big undertaking, but if you want to move forward, you have start like this with ennthusiasm and gumption to get the ball rolling.
