Birthday parties

I've been tossing around offering racing for birthday parties locally and I know a few of you do that in your town and just wondering what info, suggestions, insight, warnings, etc you can provide. I'm looking to the Spring so I have time to plan, organize, market and get together all the parts.

From what I've seen done by others it seems like a common gimmick is to bring a new car for every kid that they get to keep and then certificates/trophies for fastest cars. And since my wife bakes, I'm thinking we can offer cupcakes/cakes along with the package too. Not sure what type of price to charge?

Anyhoo......just wanted to get something started and get some ideas.

I found that most moms were happy to have you WATCH the kids, they feel that it's only hot wheels and their lil one will be fine...they gather in a circle to relax and enjoy the time off [that's what i was told]... but he/ she doesn't go to the end of the line, or the bigger kid takes the fastest car away from the lil kid... they don't pay attention, you end up repeating the "how to play" prossess every pass, some steal cars even after you tell them they can have the car they race.... i left wishing i hadn't offered.... now charities are totally different... they have councilors that are watching the kids... the charity kids seem to think they are being teated to something cool...never had one of them steal... ONLY MY OPINION

Brian, hopefully Markkaz will chime in.
He has a lot of experience with this.

Sorry, I spent a lot of money developing my party concepts
so I don't offer much advice.

It is important that you customize your party to your
local clientel. I would be hesitant to get involved
with any food items. You may need a license for
food and that would likely involve insurance
precautions.

Many kids have food allergies and you could be liable.

As for your pricing, that's homework that you will
have to do to see what your market will bear.

Kids seem to love stickers, they like picking the # for their car... the mini sponsor stickers that i use have been popular with them..... i used to give out bigger [event] stickers for their bike helmet or book bag etc.... lot more $ ...only to see them stuck to the kid's shirt or the couch... what a waste... stopped that...
i sent some mini sponsor stickers out with the M weights return cars... ask the guys what their kids think...
if you do this, you will need to find some small envelopes as the stickers will come off in a wallet or a pocket,[ if you just hand them to the kids they will stick them on something, anything], they can't wait, the envelope given to mom, gets the stickers home and hopefully onto their hot wheels cars...
.....brian, p.m. me if you want samples
