I changed the old timer cardboard box for a new, more solid one .Then, I installed for the first time the timer on the track .It works all the time ! The timer is FINALLY working correctly .

I widened the first turn .I remade this open-track portion with better borders , because cars used to fequently loose control because of them . The new borders are not yet positionned in this picture , they are around 2cm high .Lastly , I added borders to the top of the turn , so that the faster cars don't fly off it.

I now consider the track finished :

  • What will you be surfacing this with? — AP3_Diecast
  • I have no idea — Deedose
  • elmers makes a wood glue that dries hard and is sandable, I'd use a mix of acrylic paint, glue, and a thinner down acrylic drywall compound, as you can sand it smooth — dr_dodge
  • make a tomato soup thick mix and paint thin layers, allow to dry good between coats, — dr_dodge

  • that looks great, corner seems real smooth. You have done some great work there! Is the video real time? — dr_dodge
  • No , it's slowed down to 50% — Deedose

I made a small module to test and compare different wheels :

  • I have been thinking of making a seesaw with HW orange on it, and a bubble level to find the "minimum roll angle" (aka wheel friction) for testing the same thing — dr_dodge
