It's gonna be awesome! Nice work!

  • Thanks! I plan on posting an under construction rally cartournament after the Street Rods vs Wagons Showdown finishes, to help test the track. (Or because I really want to see modified rally cars racing down it!) — ManiacMotorsports

Yet another turn 3 redo. Now it's less banked than it ever was, and doesn't look as cool, but it works better and that's what counts right?

Starting covering everything in cardboard to prepare for scenery. Planning to do the thin quilt batting method like GTR and Boss Championship Racing.

  • You're doing a great job! I'm very impressed. When I was your age, I dreamed a lot but didn't do it... plus I was busy building with Legos and racing AFX cars with my friends. — GravityThrottleRacing
  • I appreciate it! This has been a blast and I'm looking forward to making it look better with the scenery. — ManiacMotorsports

This is about as far as I'm going to get for now with covering stuff with cardboard because I'm down to the last glue stick for my glue gun!

Just now seeing this! Went through and followed all the progress!! Looks pretty dang fun to me :). Can't wait to see it completed.

  • Thanks! I'm still trying to get it running well with modified cars. — ManiacMotorsports

Built this contraption to split the lanes apart and reduce blocking on the top straight. It helps the track run cleaner.

Hills have been painted.

A great track journal, loving this.

Smoothing out the track joints with DAP AlexFlex putty. Still needs to be sanded.

More cardboard work

Got the first rock face installed. It'll probably need some tweaking. I used foamcore, but I don't think it'll work for the big cliffs because it isn't very thick. I'll need to buy some of the thicker foam you can carve or use spray foam.

  • Just get some of the stryofoam that comes in packaging. I've been using that for model train layouts for years. — SpyDude
