Build Journal: Pine Hill Rally Course
Working on the beginnings of a backdrop. The sky is painted foamcore recycled from Maniac Mountain Speedway. Unfortunately most of the pieces aren't in very good condition now. The rocks are also foamcore.
Next section of rock and sky installed. I'll be doing this all the way down the top stretch, at least. I like it because it makes for a more 3d backdrop.
I hate to change the track after the qualifying, but I had to bank turn 3 more because cars were flipping over too much. At least the racing will be more enjoyable!
This is like the fourth time I've messed with this turn!
Finally bought a 4 by 8 sheet of foam for rocks. Started with some more up top.

- Doing some great work! Can't wait to see it complete. You guys are cranking out some excellent vids too! Always looking forward to seeing the next! — Skid_Marks_Diecast_Racing
Working on carving rocks for the cardboard section in the above picture.
Carve out pieces, then carve the pieces to make them look more realistic, then glue the pieces on for more texture!
Diamondback Wash is used for storage when we aren't using it!

Almost done with this next section of rock. I ran out of ground cover; need to get to hobby lobby. The more vegetation the better, I think!

This diorama at the finish is still in the works, but it's turning out pretty good. I need a sign for the shop still.

More scenery work near the finish line. Thanks to Stoopid Fish for sending me a large bag of bush material. It's being used a lot! I have a pet peeve about being able to see a little bit of cardboard and other things through the scenery so I may be going a little overkill lol

Gotta get everything ready before the tournament!
