Damnation Alley - An Adventure You'll Never Forget

This Track/Race was inspired by the 1977 move...Damnation Alley. This will be a points based race...points will not be cumulative, but per race. The start of the race will be two(2) lanes aka Desert of Fire section...and each car will get a run in both lanes..the cars will take the Drop and rocket through the Loop section...they will then pass through the 3D Botmaker 2 lane Finish gate...1st through will get 1 pt...then they accelerate toward the two(2) lane jump/launcher and will sail 2ft over the Lake of Slag...then they will land on the Fat Track Landing Ramp and enter the Fat Track section aka The Wastelands...where they will race towards the Bottle Neck finish...1st through will get 2 pts...so a perfect run would be 3pts and from both lanes 6pts...a car can get 0pts to 6pts for it's two(2) runs...the car with the most points wins the race and advances to the next round...cars tied after 2 runs would race a 3rd Sudden Death run to determine the winner.

The cars need to have a post apocalyptic vibe...Mad Maxx/Road Warrior or Death Race type look...some HW Fantasy castings would fit the mold and the Ice Charger from FnF...a Bone Shaker(with an appropriate paint scheme)...any questions about eligible castings just PM me or post a pic in the thread and I'll put out a list to choose from, but the list is not the be all end all...just check with me.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 47g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 cars per team 
• No custom axles allowed.
• Dry lube only
• Team must be 2 cars 

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host on or before Thursday, 4/25/2019. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 4/27/2019. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Include $5.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Damnation Alley...12' of 2 lane with Loop Section and Jump ( 4' Drop @ 30"/ 8' Desert of Fire Section with Loops and 2 lane ramp)...2' Jump...8' of Fat Track aka The Wastelands with Fat Track landing ramp...22' Total.

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it scores the most points. Cars will alternate lanes between each race, if the cars are tied in points after 2 races a 3rd sudden death will break the tie. Point totals for 2 runs will be between 0pts and 6pts...points are not cumulative just per race. Race host has final decision in all races.

If a car gets 2 DNF's in the same race it will be DQ'ed...Car that DNF's could be down by 2-3pts after 1st race etc. 

 
Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 2g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.
