Got a lead on 'Some kind of kit car, maybe?' sitting on the back 40 of a chicken farm outside of Greeley. Went to check it out and it just happens to be a rarer-than-hen's-teeth Vector Avtech WX-3! What a result!
Unfortunately the original engine is long gone and is pure unobtanium besides. Happily, we discovered the transaxle is a modified Toronado unit. Why happily? Because there's another vehicle that uses a modified Toronado drivetrain...
As luck would have it, that same farmer had a running/driving one he'd been using to ferry supplies 'round his farm. We made arrangements for a package deal and drove it home with every window open with a mask on. As it turns out, fertilizer and chicken shit ain't exactly olfactory bliss. Whodathunk, right? Also, it must've been quite a sight leaving rooster tails of chicken feathers down the backroads of Northeastern Colorado.
And here we have the finished product! Went through and replaced all the lines and hoses and whatnot, also we freshened up and added some go-fast bits to the tired old Olds 455! Just had to purdy it up some and it'll be ready to head to Canada after a few shakedown runs!
