Nifty NYT article about the Legends tour, plus a little insight to history and ever-changing toy industry. If nothing else, a neat photo of their giant loop-de-loop at Hot Wheels HQ.
I find it interesting that brands like Mattel/Hot Wheels (and most others) are having to shift to an experience-related marketing strategy yet events like the K-Mart Collector Days are becoming an endangered species. Makes me wonder if Mattel will start having more of a hand in live events, and if another retailer will pick it up...Walmart Collector Days, anyone?

Here's the link for the list of cities on the tour. Sadly nothing in Ohio...closest to me Dearborn, MI which isn't out of the realm of possibility. Will have to see how the rest of the summer shakes out.
