Nick of Time Open
Saturday, September 5th, 2020 View race results
Theme is Full size Vans against the clock. Please lets keep it to noncommercial actual vans, no fantasy castings. The idea is inspired by hot rod drag week. We will get 3 runs in one lane and you will get to keep your best time. Afterwards your Vans will get sent to the next host 3 runs keep your best and so on thru 5 host we will average your times and the best average will be crowned the winner.
Rules & restrictions
- Stock and modified entries allowed
- 105g maximum weight
- 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
- Limit 2 entries per household
- Retail axles and wheels only. No premium or custom axles allowed.
- Dry lube only
- Van's must be full size...street legal...no mini-vans or commercial type vans
Dates & deadlines
All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 8/29/2020. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 9/5/2020. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.
How to enter
Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address.
Include $5.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Race format and scoring
Only racing against the clock. Winner will be determined by a 5 track average of your best time at each track.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of 2g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.

Oh yeah! Vans, vans and more vans. Growing up in the 70's & 80's custom vans were the cool thing. Shag carpet interior, stereo systems, couches or even beds.
Plethora of releases out on the pegs currently. So no excuses not to load one up and let's roll!

Are unlicensed "real" vans cool or do they fall under fantasy? Like the Baja Breaker or Super Van?
