Redline National League
------------------------------------------------

A new Mail-in Event sponsored by WorpeX Racing! This will be a competition where each team submits 5 cars to compete in a heads-up team battle. It will work in a league style where every week each team matches up against a new opponent. The teams with the most points at the end of the event will compete in a single elimination play-off!

I will be setting a limit on the amount of teams competing. Because of this, I would prefer if there was only one team per household. The limit will be 10 teams total. Please note that this will be a lengthy tournament so any cars that are sent will likely not be returned for some time.

I'm in

I'm SO in!

Also, I noticed the cars in your example had a theme, do we NEED to have a theme as well? Or can it be more simple like just all entries are the same color..?

Nah. I did a practice event with my own cars and all of them had a theme so that I could tell the difference. The example was the grand final match! I found the tournament to be extremely interesting and fun because my fastest cars may have won their matches, but the WHOLE TEAM needed to perform well in order to win the war. For example, the fastest car on my track is the Way 2 Fast... it won, but the rest of its team didn't and thus the more balanced team took the victory!

I'll set the deadline for this to be after the holidays. January 18th. Thats a month and a half to finish up the cars and mail 'em in!

Please confirm in this thread that you're sending cars before sending them so that I know if I'm reaching the team limit or not.

count me in ! ... and fred if needed to fill the dance card.

count me in ! ... and fred if needed to fill the dance card.

No fred needed this time. 10 is the max, but if I don't get that many, the show will still go on. Trying to keep it to serious teams only!

fred's cool... he's going to disney world !

Come on JDC!
You've been on hiatus long enough!

yeh, whatcha doin' 442, repainting all your taillights ?
but wait, if my memory isn't gone...jdc 442 does a wicked good "city" christmas scene with ceramic/ plaster o paris houses, shops, churches, he even has street lights for hot wheels safety.... wonder if that dastardly demon will be parked at HIS house.

That was me actually. I need to set that up!

sorry for the mix-up W...
but can i run an A-OK body and a '34 ford delivery body, each on way 2 fast bases... or fat '40 & '34 delivery on lakester bases ?

Sure. Just as long as the body's are different.

this will be cool

this will be cool

I've havent been this excited for a mail-in!

I already have a 64-car bracket seeded to find my 5 fastest cars

Nice!!!! I'm going to be doing the same thing pretty soon. You may want to consider sending the Red Modena from the middleweights (when you get it back of course) as you already know its fast on my track!!

I'm gonna participate in this. I've got a group of cars already set for this.

Not fast enough WorpeX, Not fast enough.
Another question. Will all the races be on your downhill track?

Not fast enough WorpeX, Not fast enough.

Woah! That's going to be a tall order! Can't wait to see them roll! And yes, all the races will be on my track. If the event is a success, maybe the next one will be elsewhere!

So our teams would have to be themed?

I don't think they need to have a theme. That was just an example.

Yep, just an example. The theme is that all the cars came from your collection.

Got it. I'm in.

the bellingham beast is back !

WorpeX~ way to put a new twist on the mail-in event, I like the way you think. Please tell me there will be another one of your highly acclaimed videos for this one too!
This should be an epic battle, can't wait to see what everyone brings to the competition. The gears are a grindin' in my head over this one -lots of ideas. The generous weight limit will definitely change my approach.

Smitty and Carl~ I did indeed miss beating you guys the last couple of months Gauntlet thrown.

I'm IN....if there's still room on the roster.

I think its time for the 'CUL8R' to finally make a mail-in appearance.

WorpeX's track is all downhill so weight is going to be key if you wanna win. I can't wait to get home and start building, my mind is going crazy thinking of cars to mod!

WorpeX's track is all downhill so weight is going to be key if you wanna win. I can't wait to get home and start building, my mind is going crazy thinking of cars to mod!

Nope, my track is actually extremely balanced. It's all downhill, but its not very steep angle so gravity doesn't shoot the car down the hill and car speeds are generally fairly low. On the other side of the spectrum, light cars also don't have a lot of track space to let their momentum to build up. I set a generous limit on the weights for this reason as neither of the two have much of an impact and i've found that middleweights tend to perform the best!

Hmmm... interesting. Noted

Also, if you want help editing the videos... if you send them to me I would love to help edit for you!

I'd like to enter as well please. Just have to finish my delivery entrys and then get started on these.

Hmmm... interesting. Noted

Well that would definitely be possible! I'll keep that in mind!

Looks like we have 8 teams! Would really like to see tastelikedirt and Jobe in this event yet....

maybe they are scared... 442 is back !

For kicks, ill post some of the other matches from my testing event. Maybe this will give everyone more ideas!

I do match-ups purely by using random.org. Getting good match-ups is KEY! Some of these matches coulda gone either way if things were slightly different.

Mmm . . . is he telling us this to send lighter cars so he can build heavy ones? Decisions, decisions!

Ha! Like you don't know whats fast on my track. You usually dominate here!

i guess tailight watching was ment to be... i earned a cub scout badge [1966] for identifying 10 cars in a row by their tail lights... who knew .

I'll be sending WorpeX some "front line" stuff. Besides one of my best 'CUL8Rs', I'll be pre-qualifying some good ones...MBs, JL Topper repros, Acceleracers, Torpedoes, HSWs, Race Aces, and the guarantee that my 5 car 'team' will be a diverse one.

GspeedR

sloppies' RNL entries so far are ; chopped classic packard, chopped '34 dodge panel, '34 ford delivery nose and cab molded to a '34 dodge panel rear body section, '34 ford sedan delivery, fat '40.... just under 75 GRAMS...

Ha! Like you don't know whats fast on my track. You usually dominate here!

Carl~was that 300 with the yellow hood weighted? That car was lightning!

Save a spot open for me; I'll let you know in what should be a few days whether I'm participating.
Can both myself and Sinisterdog race seperately (because you said only one from a household)?

One team per household please. Just combine your two teams. Because I have a team limit set, I want to be sure as many people get a spot as possible.

Okay, that's what I was wondering. Thanks, Worpmaster!

Carl~was that 300 with the yellow hood weighted? That car was lightning!

Uhh . . .
coulda' been . . .
I don't recall . . .
yeh, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

yeh, like 442 needs advice !

I'm in.

I ain't scared. I've had all this time to get better!

Yes Carl, you have gotten better. That's what makes this competition all the more exhilarating.

I think i've been getting worse. Thus, I think im going to be running stockers.

STAWQERZ ... OK, that's it... i'm throwin' some 1/64th "suff" into worpex's returning M weights....

Also, I intended to be running 9 rounds before the playoffs with each team facing each other once. After the 4th round, teams will be allowed to send in replacement cars for any under-performing entrants (2 max). These new cars will start on round 6.

Play-offs will consist of 6 teams. Top 2 teams get a bye in the first play-off round .

Can we just send 7 cars up-front and label the 5 starters and 2 subs?

Sure, I don't see why not. You'll just have to let me know which are the 5 starters and around week 6, let me know which 2 are getting replaced (if any).

W, do you need some vynal stick-on #'s like the ones we have been useing ? L,M,K,

Johnny Lightning's allowed in this, right?

I don't see why not. What say you WorpeX? I'd definitely like to run a few in my qualifying rounds to see if they can make the cut, and get the chance to compete in the PA 'Nationals'.

Johnny Lightning's allowed in this, right?

I hope so...I have a Topper repro in my 5-car "team"...and a vintage MBX.

I think i've been getting worse.

Yes, Is Carl really getting better or are we all getting worse?

Johnny Lightning's allowed in this, right?

Yes they are!

Eeeeeexcellent...you guys don't stand a chance.
We're in.

I was less then impressed with the Johnny Lightnings in the Middleweight Challenge so bring it on!

Team Sign-ups are now closed as we have reached the cap of 10 teams! I will make an exception for only two people... Jobe and Brian... but seeing as Brian doesn't do mail-in events, that wont matter anyway!

I have my team of five and my two subs, ( I wish we could have 3 FTE's though because its really hard deciding which ones to start)

WorpeX, if i send you seven could you do some pre-race testing (a draft if you will) to find my 5 fastest to have as starters on your track?

I'd rather not because then all 10 teams are going to want to do that and it will just get time consuming for me. Besides, it kind of defeats the purpose of having 2 subs if you already know they aren't as fast as the under-performing cars.

I chose to have a 2 FTE limit because then the FTE's can't carry the team and give an advantage to those who decided to race FTEs over those who didnt. Just adds a little strategy and makes things a bit more interesting!

Fiiiiiiine... , your gonna force me to be strategic!
Well, cars should be shipped out soon. Cant wait for this shindig to get goin!

You are racing with the big boys... 70 gram limit... I.M.O. you will not see the FTE's dominate the heavies like they did in the featherweights...not to mention 5 spokes are about 1/3 the price of '05-'06 FTE's....host track specks are a BIG deal, not much of a run out at the redline national raceway, which usually helps the "rollers".... can't wait !

You won't be seeing any FOTF FTEs!

Well, we're going to just have to see! FTE1's generally perform exceptionally well at my track, especially when put onto a quality casting. They greatly improve slow castings! With that said, there are plenty of non-FTEs which compete with them... some are heavy, some are light. Though i doubt any of them are upwards of 70g. Perhaps the weight limit is a bit high, but I don't really know. just going to have to wait and see!

Good point there, heh-heh-heh...though you might see one or two. I guess we'll see what my dad and I get for Christmas.
Too bad you didn't make the weight limit 100 grams; then we could've sent in some Boogie Vans! As it is, they're the only Citezens of FOTF that are too heavy to qualify.

we ran a 100 gram class in our league, the cars would be too heavy for the DRAG TRACKS "pins" to drop.

Not for FOTF...we have to adjust our pins for many cars. We always make sure both cars get a fair start, though.

I think I've prepared a team of "front line" cars that should be competitive. While the 'team' is not as diverse as I originally intended, they're the best I can compile considering the racing conditions.

Newest to oldest:

1. HW `67 Shelby GT500 - 2008 Modern Classics (55g)
2. HW CUL8R - 2006 Faster Than Ever[mail-in] (42g)
3. HW Pontiac Stocker - 1998 Pro Racing basic (42g)
4. MB Chevy Pro Stocker - 1985 Halley's Comet Ed.(49g)
5. HW Front Runnin Fairmont - 1982 mainline[1st release] (50g)

Notice no JLs made the cut...no offence to FOTF cause my JL assortment is rather small.

WorpeX, they'll be in your hands soon. Remember, this is my 'top shelf' stuff, so please "handle with care". Of coarse, incidental racing damage is not an issue.

Woah!! You're sending the fairmont!? Big boys are coming to town now!!! I need to make sure I have one hell of a line-up prepared, im shaking in my boots already!!!

And you know i'll take good care of your cars. Incidental racing damage is very rare on my track. It's even less of a chance now with this new fancy blanket I found which stops cars super quick. I can only think of two cars within the past year which received wheel damage while racing, and both were a long time ago and minor. The lakester didn't slow down at all from it, but the dieselboy did have a notable impact in speed.

Remember guys, you have almost a month yet to figure out line-ups. So no rush!

I've got my Line-up packed and ready to ship!

1. HW Dodge Concept Car, 1999 Sugar Rush Series II
2. HW Chevy Tahoe, 2013 HW City-Rescue
3. HW BMW M1, 1996 Street Beast
4. MBX Lotus Exige FTE (Mod), 2012 Desert
5. MBX Cadillac CTS Wagon FTE (Mod), 2013 MBX Adventure City

1. HW Carbide, 2006 Holiday Hot Rod Series
2. MBX '72 Lotus Europa Special FTE (Mod), 2012 Old Town

oldest to newest ;
#1. classic packard, chopped on a way 2 fast base...64.8 GRAMS
#2. '34 sedan delivery, on a lakester base ...67.8 GRAMS
#3. '34 dodge panel, chopped on a doozie base... 68.1 GRAMS
#4. '34 ford delivery/'34 dodge delivery on a way 2 fast base... 68.3 GRAMS
#5. fat '40 on a lakester base...68.4 GRAMS
no testing, no subs, going to be fun! thanks W.
.
painted black, they should make a good backdrop for a yellow or orange car in the winner's circle !
. . . . GO... SLOPPIES GO ! . . . .

This is gonna make for an interesting video...however, you won't get a starting lineup from me until early-to-mid January, as the cars have some local clubs to dominate before they can conquer elsewhere.

Hey Mcjiggles9, those Carbide 'Holiday cars' are whole lot of momentum to that car.

My "Current Line-up" looks like this:

1- Way 2 Fast aka "The FTE Killer"
2- Lancer Evolution FTE
3- Triumph FTE
4- "Nitroboy"
5- Turobolence aka "Shade" [2012 public choice tournament winner]

Buut... this is very likely to change. It's a top line-up from me so far... but I still feel as if it has some weak spots. I'll keep testing and see what I can come up with to make it better.

of momentum to that car.

Yeah I received it in my prize package for DCR, by the way I've been curios about what your prize was, cause I finished fourth and he sent me an awesome assortment of 24 mainlines, first editions, holiday specials and some Johnny lightnings.
Anyways yeah the carbide I got is pretty quick!

From DCR, I recieved a beautiful 12" lead crystal trophy w/my name on the pedestal. He also sent me a BIG box of cars...lots of nice mainlines & JLs, a TH, a dragbus, and the 'Holiday' Carbide. It was a you.

Hope Brian isn't reading this thread, he might get jealous! Next year.. im definitely participating in DCR.

I think Brian supports us too(more than adequately!), albeit in a less concrete manner.

Minor Change to my line-up after a race-off today with some of my fastest cars...

1- Way 2 Fast aka "The FTE Killer"
2- Lancer Evolution FTE
3- Triumph FTE
4- "Nitroboy"
5- Cadillac V-16

Back-ups:
6- Shade (Turbolence)
7- White GT Racer

I think your wicked Lancer FTE scares me the most...then again, I was recently "shell shocked" by 'hotrainiac's' Mitsu in the 2nd Ann. race.

WorpeX, is this tournament officially "full"...or are more team entries being accepted?

WorpeX, is this tournament officially "full"...or are more team entries being accepted?

It's UN-officially full... I can accept one more team if they bribe me with something. Do you have someone in mind? If one more team is added in, one team will have a bye each week.

i'm cool with a bye, to get H in the mix.

New RLD member "hotrainiac" might be interested...I can live w/having a bye...I'll even volunteer to be the 1st bye, if necessary.

Ok, well, we'll add him in then. The late sign-up will get the bye in the first round to make things fair for everyone! However, I want to make this official:

EVENT SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED!

If anyone else wants to join, they are going to have to hope that someone drops out!

My current lineup:
1. Firebird Funny Car
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
2. Custom '69 Chevy
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
3. Fairlady Z Roadster
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
4. Dodge RT/10
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
5.'10 Ford Shelby Super Snake
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Nice Funny Car; I don't know if any of mine will qualify (at least for the first five), but they generally seen to be the fastest HWs out there.
Is that third one a Tomica?

Hey guys....I just want to thank you for letting me squeeze into this event. I'll have a team packed and on it's way soon.

Is that third one a Tomica?

Yes. Yes it is.

Oh gees. We got Hotwheels, Johnny Lightnings, a Modded Matchbox... and now a Tomica? Someone better include a Road Champion so that we have them all!

I had a Tomica Lancer EVO X in the top 5 until it got a slightly bent axle.
So out of 4 Tomicas in qualifying, 2 of them were in the top 5 at one point!

The Super Snake has been eliminated by a, wouldn't you know it, Tomica Subaru WRX STI.

Wow...I had no idea Tomicas were as fast as Hot Wheels with Two Wheels.
The Funny Car beats them by a long shot, though, right?

If it doesn't, FOTF and NerveHammerFTE must live in two entirely different dimensions of racing.

most hot wheels funny cars have very little clearance left to right with the front axle... i used to have to get equal spacing on each side for every pass.... and yes, fast

The funny car does beat them, but not by too much.

much.

Yep, we do race in different dimensions...in FOTF, just about any plastic-tire Hot Wheels would unquestionably crush a Tomica. I get the feeling you'd have done well at the LJLRC, if they'd decided on adding a Tomica class.

Ok. Its time to get serious here. I'm about to reveal some updated details about the event.

-The league will run for 11 weeks. Each team faces each other once.
-Replacement cars for under-performing entrants will start racing on Week 6
-Top 6 teams after 10 rounds will advance to the play-offs
-PLAYOFFS: Rank 1 & 2 will have a bye. Rank 3 will face Rank 6 and Rank 4 vs Rank 5. Winner of 4/5 faces rank 1 and winner of 3/6 faces rank 2. Then the finals!

PRIZES:

Points leader after round 5 will receive the following gift: High-Speed Wheels 1984 Pontiac & Ballistik
-*NOTE: Because some teams will have a bye, teams without a bye will have their lowest scoring week's score not count towards the week 5 prize leaderboard*
Tournament winner will receive this: High-Speed Wheels 4ward Speed, Hot Ones "Hot Bird" and Flying Customs "Chevy Monza"
Second Place will receive this: High-Speed Wheels 4ward Speed

... and i'm sure by the time the end of the event comes, i'll add to this list.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

For the record: I am also competing for these prizes as I didn't buy any duplicates for me with the exception of the Monza... if I win, the Monza will go to the second place.

Nice prizes WorpeX! I'm drooling.
I imagine you're gonna have to take a few breaks during this series if it's going to run for eleven weekends, right? Eleven straight weekends of racing might be a bit taxing.

Nice prizes WorpeX! I'm drooling.
I imagine you're gonna have to take a few byes during this series if it's going to run for eleven weekends, right?

No, don't think so. If my math is correct, there's 11 teams so 10 races but 1 bye.

Edit: Yeah, just calculated it. My math is correct! Just one bye during the series.

Edit 2: Ah ha! You edited your post! I understand now. I do my racing during the week after work. So i'll probably spread the racing out over a few days and maybe even get ahead in weeks. I just wont be posting the results until the weekend.

atta boy W...

So I did my best to recreate WorpeXs track and tested my team and now I've completely changed my team entirely!

That's the first place I checked!

So I'm very excited for this event. This isn't the team I had pictured before, but hopefully they'll prevail. Decided to spread the weights and to try various wheel types. I even have a treaded wheel in there

less than 3 weeks racers... pack 'em up and ship 'em out !

Prizes! MORE CARS!!!!!!

I've gotta wait till after the second Sunday of January to ship; most of the cars you'll be seeing will also be racing at the LJLRC and RIHWC.

Just about have my WorpeX Raceway clone built.
Hope to be doing some testing tomorrow!

Treaded wheels are awful on my track so I highly recommend finding a replacement for that guy! Great looking cars though, can't wait to see them!!!!

Treaded wheels are awful on my track

I can't imagine those wheels doing good on any track, but maybe he knows something we don't...

track, but maybe he knows something we don't...

I use Blu Track on my home track. Those kind of wheels do okay on it. Only the high center line makes contact with the track. I personally don't run them because I think airflow around the treads might slow them down some. I would think that they have more problems on segmented track because there are more opportunities to hang a tread on a track joint.

I think the confusion is between a 'treaded tire' and a 'rubber tire'.
The real rider type treaded tires , the plastic treaded tires like on the Jeep .

Maybe you guys know something that I dont then! All the plastic treaded tires i've tried have been godawful.. but then again, I don't buy them and have only tried a handful on my track.

i'm with you W. bought a bone shaker 4 wheeler for fred... seems they would try and climb the sidewalls like the FTE IIs...

Happened to have two plastic treaded wheel trucks that i've had sitting in their package for like 11 years and after this conversation, I decided to give them a shot. Broke them out of their fancy final run packaging and sent them down the track. The first was a Gulch Stepper which had a lot of trouble just even making it to the bottom of the track. I think it had more to do with the wheels themselves as the one tire seemed to be rubbing against the frame. The second was a Mercedes Unimog which had no imperfections at all with the wheels. It ran straight and smooth - made it to the bottom of the track without issues. But it was slow as hell. Even some of my worst cars smoked it. These guys didn't do anything to change my opinion!

Well we'll have to see, frankly I'm getting a bit nervous that I'm having him as my starter, and that I wouldnt be able to switch him out till week 6 if he's failing to win. On the other hand I really want to leave him in to see if I can prove ya'll wrong

He's actually a Jeep Scrambler, all I did was add weight to the back. We'll see how he preforms

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

if it doesn't roll... hit it with a drill and hacksaw !

Ok, so here are 3 of my 5 entries. On the Stang and the Infinity I added weight and decals I had hanging around. Didn't think to ask if we could pick our own numbers so if it's a problem I can remove them. Both of these are Hotwheels. The Ford Lightning pickup is a Matchbox. I added a set of JL wheels from the parts box and the flame decals. Tomorrow I'll weigh them at work. The other two are still being put together and I'll post pics when they are done.

I actually wont be numbering cars for this event at all as there really isn't any need to. Since its a team event, the individual cars aren't being ranked - the team is. If there are duplicates, I have numbers on hand that smitty sent me so that I can keep the two separated by which owner it belongs to. Otherwise, I intend to be writing the car model in the results each week. I don't really like numbers much anyway, I feel like it sort of detracts from the experience when you don't really know what car lines up with what number.

Great looking cars dadvball! Can't wait to see them perform!!

Great looking cars. I'm liking what you did with the decals.

Didn't think to ask if we could pick our own numbers . . .

If this was a series where the cars were numbered to the help the different hosts figure out what was whos, your numbers IMO would be the same as tampos on a car. The only problem might be if two cars had the same number.

Right on.

Those things look great! Nice job!

I regret setting the deadline for the 18th, its still so far away! I can't wait to start this!!!

Finally had time to do some HalfFast testing today.

Oh great! One of those. Carl has another victory in the bag.

A 300C from Carl. Is anyone surprised? The Middleweight series mustang is back again too... uh oh!

Oh great! One of those. Carl has another victory in the bag.

It's ok, that 300C can win all it wants as long as his other 4 cars keep losing!!

It's ok, that 300C can win all it wants as long as his other 4 cars keep losing!!

Well, his 300C won't be as good as the others, it's not grey with yellow!

The Middleweight series mustang is back again too... uh oh!

It a whole 'nuther Mustang.
See if you can spot the difference:

Well for one thing the new one weighs 74.5 grams!

Still not going to stand against things in league with Black with Flames Camaros...I can't be certain of the EXACT cars yet, but you have called out FOTFF--Fastest of the Fastest's Finest (except Boogie and Spidervans). HA. Fear us.
Now this brings up two questions: As most of our cars are also needed for racing in RI Clubs...1, can one BWF Camaro be sent as one of the initial five, and another be sent as a 'sub' to replace the first one; and two, do a '69 BWF Camaro and a '69 Spiderman Camaro (both JL, both metal-base) count as two different cars (as a point of reference, they do count as two different cars at the LJLRC)?

I don't understand 90% of this post but I think the first question is a yes.

. . . do a '69 BWF Camaro and a '69 Spiderman Camaro (both JL, both metal-base) count as two different cars (as a point of reference, they do count as two different cars at the LJLRC)?

Oh - and would a Silver Chrysler 300C Hemi and a Black Chrysler 300C Hemi count as two different cars too? What about a Red one with White stripes?

. . . do a '69 BWF Camaro and a '69 Spiderman Camaro (both JL, both metal-base) count as two different cars (as a point of reference, they do count as two different cars at the LJLRC)?

I dunno what you mean by BWF and Spiderman. If its just a different paint scheme, then they would be the same car. lol

I dunno what you mean by BWF and Spiderman. If its just a different paint scheme, then they would be the same car. lol

Well, they...um...they might have different-shaped headlights! And different wheels and tires!
But, yeah; I guess Carl's kind of got a point. The term was different BODY, not different CASTING like the JL Club uses.
It doesn't matter that much anyway...and the answer to the first question is exactly what I hoped to hear.
Though the subs--if there are any--will have to be sent in at a later date. They'll be needed back here.

teams will be allowed to send in replacement cars for any under-performing entrants (2 max). These new cars will start on round 6.

So, as long as the car arrives by week 6, its allowed.

Understood. I just don't want to send away cars for six weeks, have them do nothing in those six weeks, and then end up not doing anything else for the rest of the time they're gone anyway (as that would be the time all my cars performed perfectly). That's why I'm not sending them with the Initial Five.

Makes sense. Thats why I added in a replacement period cause then teams who aren't doing so hot can have a fighting chance at getting themselves back into the game!

Cars in transit...should be there Monday.

Also, 1 minor roster move....my CUL8R FTE has been replaced by a modified #48 CUL8R mainline(like the one in my avatar).

Pics of #4 and #5 and the whole team. As a whole I'm pretty happy with them. Aside from the Mustang the others run almost neck and neck. But I'm not telling you if that means the 'Stang runs faster or slower. You'll have to wait to find out.
The Maisto Hot Rod was done as a beater/rust bucket. I'm hoping it becomes good friends the the Sloppies and learns a few things. The Charger was a last minute decision and as I only had three of the 2.5 gram fishing weights left it only took about 15 minutes to put together. I spent much of the night fine tuning the others and adding weights. Other than maybe doing a little paint detail I'm not touching them again. I'll get them in the mail either Monday or Tuesday.

Mustang - 42.5
G37 - 40
Ford pick up - 55
Hot rod - 45
Charger - to be weighed at work tomorrow.

Worpex, will you be weighing these? I'd be curious to know what you come up with so I can compare them to what I get on my work scale. I'm hoping to buy a pocket scale soon. Thanks.

Guess what came in the mail today? Probably the scariest team of 5 cars i've ever seen!!! GspeedR's entry's!!! Since they were the first here, I figured i'd do a photo opp with them. Haven't run them on my track as I see some graphite on the CUL8R [Speaking of which, for everyone else, only Dry Lubes please - like graphite]. Don't want to wear it out before the tournament!!

Sure, i'll weigh 'em! Great looking cars btw! I can't wait till they see my taillights!!!

That's one of the details I'm planning on doing. Tail lights. Hopefully you guys will get a good look at them

Here is the Google Docs spreadsheet for the event! Still working on the car points page, but the League Schedule and Team points are done. Take a look and see what week you're up against everyone and when you have a bye!

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... utput=html

Also, I realized a small issue that I didn't notice before with replacement cars. If we start at week 6, teams with a bye in the first half of the league will get 6 races with the new cars and teams with a bye in the second half get 5 weeks with them. SO, we can either just leave it like that, OR, teams without a bye in the first half of the event start their new cars on week 7 instead. What do you guys think?

If you want to fill in my state, it MA.

I'm a bit confused, so I might leave it how it is.
Looks cool, though; I'm excited for Week 1 (along with the other nine--but None will happen until One happens).

I just realized that if one more team were to enter real quick like the schedule would remain the same and there wouldn't be any byes!

I didn't think of that!

i won't be sending subs... seed me where it fits best...

A lot of cars are comin' apart today up here in Bellingham. Fun times!!! Gotta build a car that can take down Carl's dreaded Chrysler 300 FTE

WorpeX~ how are you going to do the team matchups? Will it be random pairings every week or something like FTEs facing FTEs and non FTEs against non? Or are you going to start ranking the cars according to their win/loss and have no 1 vs. no 1 down to 5 vs. 5? Example: when I race the Half Fast team, will my best car face his best car and my no. 5 vs. his no. 5?

Completely random! I'll have my trusty random.org ready at all times. If you'd like, ill even post the car match-ups before the racing happens so you all know im being fair about it. Sometimes you'll get good match-ups, sometimes you wont! But, if you have all 5 cars which are equally good... that shouldn't be a problem, right?

Cars are on their way!

After seeing/reading about these entries, so far....I think the complete epicness of some of the future match ups is unavoidable. WorpeX, have that camera ready.

Oh my gosh WorpeX! I love that logo. Would you send it to me so I can use it all the time!!!!!

Also, to put your mind at ease Jiggles... I raced your scrambler today [I couldn't wait, I had to know!] and the verdict is....

ITS FAST!!!

You've officially proven me wrong. BUT, is it fast enough to beat everyone elses is cars? I only tested it by itself, so I don't even know that answer!

Im glad!, but I just re-looked at my team photo and I noticed the weight I added to the back of it isn't there

If you can find a cone shaped lead piece in the box, and maybe reattach it...let me know!

Found it. Ill do the repairs before the event!

Thanks!

very nice W. can you throw something together for the "sloppy jalopies racing" team avitar ! remember we are sloppy !

Got two packages in the mail today! Was expecting Carls to show up and they did, however, TASTELIKEDIRT quietly snuck his package into the mail and now they're in my lap... and they scare me... theres a particular Green Dieselboy which kicked my butt during the middleweight series and is back to PA again for the second time... What scares me the MOST about this car is that I raced it for fun against my Dieselboy when it was here last time.... mine lost just barely.

I built 5 cars for this event and had no time for testing. One of the five obviously had some kind of problem but I was going to send it anyway. As I was getting ready to mail out my five, the Middleweights returned in my mail box, so I threw in that Deisel Boy at the very very last second. (As a rule I try to build new cars for every race, but I had no choice, but that's OK )

ok! Two things...

1. TASTELIKEDIRT: Doesn't seem like the V-16 survived the journey very well. I picked it up and the body separated from the base. I pushed some of the gunk up and it went back together and appears to be holding... however, to be sure it stays during race day, I may need to poxy it up. let me know!

2. CARL: Your Fastback is overweight by .09g! Way to break the rules!

3. Everyone Else: Jiggles and I made some changes to the Cars page of the stats, check them out! docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... zaHc&gid=2

team half fast... or is that team well fed !.... we'll have to call the fastback "porky".

team half fast... or is that team well fed !.... we'll have to call the fastback "porky".

Now tell WorpeX to paint all over it!

CARL: Your Fastback is overweight by .09g! Way to break the rules!

I'm guessing that you northerners must have more gravitation pull seeinz how y'all are further away from the equator!

carl musta had a few too many.... coats of halffast yellow !

Way to go Carl, sending in a fatty!
And on that note, my 'stock' Probe funny car weighed in at 74.7 grams on my scale. Had no idea it was that close to the limit before I set in on the scale. I would have been quite upset if it had been over, as it was my top non-FTE performer.

As a penalty for sending cars which are over the weight limit, I shall be putting them down the track backwards

Great! The Mustang Fastback is way more aerodynamic that way.

Geez, .09g over! We had Margaritas the other night, see if a couple of grains of salt might have gotten under there!

Heading to the post office now. You should have them Tues. or Wed.

Ok, according to them expected arrival is Monday.

I chopped one of the wheels off for you. It's under weight now!

Jenny Craig has nothing on Worpex..... oh, which wheel ?

Smittys and JDC442's cars arrived today!

I may need to poxy it up. let me know!
do the repairs Thanks!

Still missing entrants from NerveHammerFTE, FOTF Racing and DVB Racing.

Just a minor clarification on the Google docs list...My yellow CUL8R is not an FTE. It's a regular mainline w/gold oh5s.

where in as i expect the competition to put me on the trailer early, i want the sloppies to look good on the way home !
mailbox find, a '10 yellow '65 mustang fastback with FTE's ... unlike carl's, it's got narrow black racing stripes and no #25 on it...... sorry CARL but this baby likes the cold snowy northeast weather just fine.

No more monday night football so how about Monday Night RNL!? The very first match-up is live so prepare yourself for Redline National League's first ever premier and its a good one too! Crazy close match-up between two teams who are likely going to be heavyweights in this event...

THAT. WAS. AWESOME!
That 300C is incredible! Nice job Carl, great win! I loved the action between the Ferrari and the Ambulance. The Ambulance tumbles forever after he crosses the finish line. (hopefully he's put together nicely).
Thanks WorpeX, and I can't wait for more action to come!

Crazy close match-up between two teams who are likely going to be heavyweights in this event...

I predict Team Dirt to be the team to be reckoned with! What a team with four of his cars weighing in between 72 and 75 grams and the 'race proven' Dieselboy. I'm already having second thoughts about a few of my entries!

Theres a lot of teams im worried about... Almost all of them actually!!! Except that Johnny Lightning team, they got NOTHIN' on my Hotwheels!!! jk

The Weber Cabin vs HalfFast match could have easily gone the other way with different match-ups. Had the Lumina faced the Testarossa and the Ambulence the Camaro, I think Weber Cabin woulda won 3-2!!

@NerveHammer: That GT Racer was fast during the middleweights. It had a rough first round match vs the Minivan and it ALMOST WON. It was one of very few cars to get that close to beating the van. It'll definitely be a car to be reckoned with in RNL!

Yep, and i've already raced it and I know the results too!!! You have no idea how hard it is to not spoil things.

I get the feeling the people in this video favored Hot Wheels...I probably could've gotten JL a win if I'd been there and I felt like it. Because there is no HW--at least, not in this tournament--that can take down a BWF Camaro.

But NOW it has graphite lube!

But NOW it has graphite lube!

But remember, graphite is kind of like the 'genie in the lamp'....it might grant you 3 "magic races", but you usually become a mear mortal after that.

Has anyone else had a graphite malfunction yet? I never knew that just a slight over-squeeze of the tube could create such a mess. Thank goodness I missed the car, but I ened up with three gray fingers!!

after that.

Agreed. I've found that adding graphite is hit and miss. Sometimes it seems to help (temporarily), and sometimes it doesn't seem to do anything. None of the seven cars I sent got the magic genie this time.

Got DVB Racing in the mail today!!! This Maisto hot rod is GORGEOUS!! Love the paint job on it!

I predict Team Dirt to be the team to be reckoned with!

You guys have more confidence in my cars than I do! I slapped those suckers together best I could and mailed them out with no testing whatsoever (Christmas/holidays/birthdays really cut into my Hot Wheels time . Besides that...looking forward to lots of good racing.

Wow, good job GSpeedR! I'm honestly surprised to get 100% killed. But that's all right--maybe GSpeedR's going to win or something.

Or maybe your cars will have their revenge once the graphite wears away from mine.

another fine film W. good racing... no more decaf for the sloppies

Wow, good job GSpeedR! I'm honestly surprised to get 100% killed. But that's all right--maybe GSpeedR's going to win or something.

I was shocked too. You have a strong team and I think next week you and McJiggles are going to have a great battle! That 69 Camaro is "FTE Killer" Achievement:
[THF] Ferrari Testarossa - 1 Kill
[JDC] Sol-Aire CX4 - 1 Kill
[DVB] Police Dodge Charger - 1 Kill

Just 2 more to go!

Great racing and great video Aside from my MB pickup it was neck & neck with the Jalopies. Tight racing keeps it interesting.

The old MBX could be my 'weakest link', although I'll gladly take when a whatever wins it earns. Also, did anyone notice how speed

I think TLD is going to need to send a replacement for the super van and v-16.

Replacement cars just have to be there before week seven? I think I'll have to get busy.

Or maybe your cars will have their revenge once the graphite wears away from mine.

...
Yeah, that's one thing about my team: None of them have graphite, lubricant, etc.--for that matter, none of my cars have ever had it, Stock can't put it on Stocks if I want to race them at the Clubs.

Replacement cars just have to be there before week seven? I think I'll have to get busy.

Week 7 for Team Dirt since you have a bye on week 3. So thats March 9th! Plenty of time.

Those Johnnys don't like the short track, they needed more stride for their full potential. The BWF Camaro was just beginning to light up at the finish. Scary to face that car on a full length track!

Nice video WorpeX and some real good racing.
And WOW, two 100 percenters already!

And WOW, two 100 percenters already!

Yea, I swear I can feel the target on my back.

NerveHammer's cars are here!!! I'm pretty tired tonight so I dont know if i'll race them but if I dont, ill do it tomorrow. Ill try to get the video out ASAP!

rest them bones W., midweek racing is a bonus

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

No words can describe how gorgeous these Sloppy Jalopy entries are... They're just breathtaking!! Lets hope they're as fast as they look!!!

A little help Smitty. Could you put the names to each of your beauties here.

they started as ;
.................................. chopped classic packard, way 2 fast base...
1/2 - '34 dodge panel, 1/2 '34 sedan delivery, way 2 fast base......chopped '34 dodge panel, doozie base.
'34 ford sedan delivery, lakester base...................................fat fendered '40, lakester base
i have forgotten what i named them.... i included a sheet of paper with all info, W. should have it.

Here is NerveHammers photo...

07 Escalade Mod: milzis
Fairlady Z: ce?ojuma divritenis
GT Racer: sac?kšu jahta
Funny Car: smiekl?gi auto
Viper RT/10: liesmas

Video didn't really turn out too good, the quality isn't very good for some reason. I think I need to put better lighting by the track. Either way, here it is! The final race of round one and let me tell you - Nervehammers team impressed me!! However, did they have enough Mojo to defeat the hometown favorites? Watch and find out!!

let me tell you - Nervehammers team impressed me!!

Well, I did make a track identical to yours to test on, down to the inch, so...

If anyone noticed a paper strip on the Funny Car, it says 'Joe Nemechek 87'. Just so no one asks later.

nice of you to honor your 87 year old great grandad... ho, ho, ho...

I didn't re-watch the other races from week 1 but I'm guessing these were the closest races of them all.

I didn't re-watch the other races from week 1 but I'm guessing these were the closest races of them all.

I wouldn't say that, i think Carl vs Jiggles and DVB vs Smitty were closer - merely because some of the races went back and forth a few times and this one was all 2-0's. Still good racing though!

Also, week 2 match-ups are posted!
docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... zaHc&gid=4

I wouldn't say that . . .

OK . . . you made me watch all of the races, again
The margin of victory in WorpeX vs. Nervehammer races were the closest of all of the races in week 1.
The largest margin of victory was in the TR6 vs. Funnycar race and it was just barely one car length!
That was some pretty close racing!

Can't wait to see more!

TR6 vs. Way-2-fast race

I guess you need to watch it again.
The TR6 vs. Funnycar match had the largest margin of victory!

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the Way 2 Fast-Escalade matchup, because there was a decent difference between that one too.

And those are some great videos, aren't they? Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Just an update for everyone: Racing was finished Friday and I started the video today but didn't finish it. I dont have anything going on tomorrow so i'll definitely finish it then.

Also, should I save a match-up for middle of the week like I did before? If so, which one?

worpex vs sloppy jalopies

There's an idea--have the Home Team Race be in the middle of the week every week.

Worpex~ I like the mid-week match ups idea. Breaks things up a bit.

Smitty~
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
I think I got the correct names to each of Smitty's vehicles here. Yes?

I like the midweek race as well. Wets the appetite for for the upcoming weekend. Great idea.

Yeah, the names make things confusing since half of them are all from the same year and the other half are deliveries or chopped. I ended up numbering them after I took that picture so I could tell them apart.

Enjoy!

Excellent!

Two weeks in and I have won a total of one race not so excellent for team Dirt.

The videos are really fun to watch. There's always surprises.

Well, that's more like what we like to see...
Good race, Jiggler; and great video yet again from WorpeX.

good racing again this weekend... couple of real close duels... a sloppy scout says 442 is back... wonderful !

good racing again this weekend... couple of real close duels... a sloppy scout says 442 is back... wonderful !

Yeah, I have the rough job of normally are.

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to film the races and then put everything together. Quite the blow out weekend for the winners, congrats. Congrats to JDC. Glad to see I was at least competetive (other than the Hot Rod). And it was good to see the Pickup at least win one race. There's always next week.

LUCKILY, DVB proved that JDC's cars are beatable.

Good work WorpeX! Thanks for all the effort going into this.
Enjoying the wins, but it's just a matter of time. My cars are fast, but definitely not invincible. I'm looking forward to the Probe Funny Car vs. Way 2 Fast matchup with Worpex next week -should be a barn burner!

I think my yellow Sol Aire is actually faster with the back hatch up

I dunno, I don't have as much confidence as you do in my Way 2 Fast! I wasn't very impressed with its performance vs NerveHammer in week 1... only a C Grade win against the Escalade which lost in week 2 also. That Funny Car is hammering some of the fastest cars i've seen on this track [TLD Dieselboy and DVB's Infinity], so I think its going to walk all over my W2F. We'll see though!! Going to be interesting to see and we're going to have to wait till next wednesday for that race!

haha, I put the hatch up on the Sol-Aire as a celebration lap for getting JDC's team its second 5-0!! Was clear after the first race who was going to win.

A quick question if I may. I've noticed many cars have a tendency to bounce side to side on the way down the track while others run almost straight as an arrow. I get it quite a bit running cars here. Any idea on what causes that?

In my thinking it's: a) the axles are out of alignment with each other, or b) the axle or wheel could have flashing or burrs on them. Any other thoughts?

In my thinking it's: a) the axles are out of alignment with each other, or b) the axle or wheel could have flashing or burrs on them. Any other thoughts?

Maybe my track isn't straight.

i'm with carl on this one... alignment !

Preacher put a nice video on Youtube about what makes cars fast or possibly inherently slow. Cars with a narrow wheelbase tend to shimmy and bounce from rail to rail. This is not always the case, but every 1970 Dodge Challenger I have seen does this. Here is a link to preachers insight.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2xsDyU802o

In my thinking it's: a) the axles are out of alignment with each other, or b) the axle or wheel could have flashing or burrs on them. Any other thoughts?

Yes, I assumed that it had something to do with the rear axle being narrow, or more narrow than the front or just plain out of alignment. I've put together a couple fast cars that look like fish swimming upstream. It's frustrating because I assume they would get to the end faster if they would just hold still...(make that go straight. They wouldn't go anywhere fast if they were holding still )

...another thing I've thought is if the wheel has to much room on the axle, where it can travel from side to side and contribute to the fishtailing. This could be when you took an axle from a car with a wide wheel base and put it on a car with a narrow wheel base (usually the rear.)

I agree with your observation TLD on the lengthy axel.......it would also alow the wheel to seek the inside of the fender well. I noticed narrow wheel base cars may not track to one side or the other when run across a table, but once they start to bump at high speed they just oscillate violently from rail to rail. I may buy one now and then because I like the casting, but I don't particularly buy them to race. I have noticed that longer cars such as some funny cars and top fuel cars like Mad Fast with a narrow stance don't "wobble" as bad.

Thanks for the replies and help! I'll have to pay more attention when I'm replacing the axles/wheels. I should run just the chassis down the track to check it before putting it all back together.

try running all wide track [axle] bases... stay away from the wide tires [ more wheel rubbing the axle ]... tall thin wheels are my best bet...'50's and newer cars have to be narrower to stay in proportion and fit in a 3" blister.... try some older / wide axle track, long wheel base cars

I realize that some of the discussion is getting off topic, and I also realize that people here come from all walks of life. Being a 'car guy' myself (and not saying anybody isn't) here's my chance to educate some of you on terminology :

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

If we use the correct terms then everybody knows what we're talking about.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end!

Could somebody explain to me what in the heck Carl is talking about?

But seriously folks, since I've come to Redline Derby I've noticed that a lot of golden information get concealed in threads like this. It's all good and part of the discussion and I'm glad it's being discussed. I'm also sure in a couple months when I'm having trouble with a car fishtailing down the track and I remember this discussion I will never be able to find it again. (Except on accident when I'm not looking for it)

Someday I think I/we should put together a F.A.Q. and then just add to it when stuff like this comes up. I'm working on a mail in race "how to" right now. Maybe the F.A.Q...Frequently Asked Questions/Race car building article will be next.

That would be great. We've come a long way in keeping the race threads together and there should be a continuous thread with 'speed secrets' and the like, where questions could be asked and answered.

Racing secrets thread--good idea.
I know this is a bit off-topic, but are any FOTF cars on their way to the 'FTE Kills' achievement?

Its all good! In other news, I finished all the racing for Week 3 except I somehow am missing a video... guess I have to re-race that one... awkard...

So when will you be airing our match up WorpeX? Will I have to wait until Wednesday?

Yep!! I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!

Guess what's early this weekend? Yep. WEEK 3 RESULTS!!!

Enjoy!!!

Oh gosh, my Ambulance lost to a Tomica!?

This just in, Weber Cabin Racing expects to sub the Ambulance out at the beginning of week 6

Some good matchups this week, several 3-2 results.
GsR Microracing has only one weakness -his Cul8r.

Carl's Fastback handing the BWF "Johnny" Camaro a serious ass-whoopin' = pure joy!

More good racing! I'm enjoying watching everyone of them. Looks like I'll have to start working on two replacements though. My hot rod and Charger cop car aren't looking too good.

...says who?

I enjoyed racing HalfFast; we didn't win, but we were actually in a race where both sides competed. However, I would like you to all know that not only is that Monte Carlo going to be subbed for, but he's also going to be promptly hung upon his return.

And NerveHammer, I'm both proud and surprised that you entered a Tomica that was actually able to beat something besides a slower Tomica.

And NerveHammer, I'm both proud and surprised that you entered a Tomica that was actually able to beat something besides a slower Tomica.

I think something must have happened to my Ambulance, in week 1 it went head to head with a Ferrari Testarossa, and this week it lost to a Tomica!

And NerveHammer, I'm both proud and surprised that you entered a Tomica that was actually able to beat something besides a slower Tomica.

Funny!

GsR Microracing has only one weakness -his Cul8r.

Yup, and its probably going to be replaced with a am very pleased to see my old Fairmont & MBX continue to "kick arse"...albeit @ Smitty's expense. (Sorry buddy!)

it was a gentle kick.

I'm gonna' watch it again!

But I am very pleased to see my old Fairmont & MBX continue to "kick arse"

Yeah, I like that Fairmont,

So much for the infamous Black With Flames Camaro, that didn't take long, I hope you didn't pay a lot for that on eBay son

So much for the infamous Black With Flames Camaro....

Wait a minute, is that car a version of an unofficial "record holder" that I've heard about?

Wait a minute, is that car a version of an unofficial "record holder" that I've heard about?

Maybe the flames are from an engine running too hot...

Wait a minute, is that car a version of an unofficial "record holder" that I've heard about?

That's what I assumed.

That's what I assumed.

Can FOTF(or anyone else) possibly fill me in on the story behind the "infamous" JL Camaro? Maybe a link or something?

I'm always curious about these kind of things.

Just to clear things up: that Tomica is fast! It almost beat me in round one but had a tough matchup in round 2. I can see it winning a lot!

The BWF Camaro is fast. The track is just too short for it to reach full potential!

WorpeX...if you call the Tomica 'fast,' then please call the Camaro something else...
Of course, I can think of what a lot of people here would want to call it (not a synonym for 'fast'), but all you need to do is give it time...don't worry, it'll avenge itself...

The story behind it: A few years back, somebody in the LJLRC got one and found it to be unbeatable. People sent cars in from all over the country to try and best it, but the only different casting that could was Jeremy's Spidervan in the Finals. However, so many people started getting those Camaros, they became almost like a cheat code; between them and the occaisional Monopoly Silverado (like the one I sent), there was getting to be little variety in the Finals. So, they eventually retired it, and had a 'Fastest BWF Camaro Race' in December 2011 (which I won with a different BWF Camaro than the one that got sent, which these days isn't really worthy of such a title). Then their focus shifted to the Mono. Silverados. They figured that those trucks would go down the same path, so they retired them, too.
There's the story as good as I can tell it (because I hadn't yet discovered the club by that point).

And by the way...please note that the Camaro was beat by an extremely overweight Mustang (that extra .09 grams, or however much it is, easily made all the difference).

Week 4 match-ups posted!!!

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... zaHc&gid=6

Here is my predictions this week!!! Wanted to have some fun! These are just predictions by the way, don't get offended by anything!!

I Predict...
Team Dirt 3 - 2 DVB Racing
--> TLD got a lucky line-up this week as his top car is facing DVB's top car. Dieselboy vs Infinity! I think the green machine will take that win home in a close race. On the other side, TLD's other two good cars got some easier match-ups with the Stingray against the Hot Rod and Dream Van against the Charger. The Charger can still take this one though and is looking at getting his second "FTE kill" if he does!! The other two races are clear wins for DVB.

JDC442 Racing 2-3 GsR Microracing
--> Awesome match-up!! The Matchbox got a good match-up in the first race against the Sol-Aire and should take that. However, I think the Speed Bump will continue its dominance and take out the infamous Fairmont. The Cul8tor has a another loss this week against the mighty funny car. I feel as if the weakest points in JDC's line-up are the inconsistent FTEs. I think the Shelby and Pontiac Stocker can take them both out.

Sloppy Jalopies 2-3 Weber Cabin Racing
--> Two teams battling for their first win!! In this case, I think Jiggles got a great match-up but it will be close. I think the first race will be close but i predict the Ambulance to take down #98 in another nail biter race for that car. No doubt that #96 will beat the blue silverado as its one of the fastest cars in the entire league. But, I predict a very close 3rd race between the half-FTE #99 and Lumina, but I see the Lumina taking it. The Fat Fendered 40 has had very close races all season and might get its first win here against the impala but the scrambler will finish off the series with an easy win against the slow #97!!

NerverhammerFTE 2-3 HalfFast
--> EconoCarl is looking to pick-up the first achievement in RNL aside from the particpation one. 3 "3-2" matches in a row! He got the luck of the draw in for pairings this week with his best car against NerveHammers best car! Funny Car against 300C... but I think that 300C is unbeatable. The Fastback and Testatrossa should complete the 3 piece set but the GT Racer and Dodge Viper of Nervehammer will likely beat their opponents!!

I wont do my own match against FrictionFiction. Good luck all!!

I feel as if the weakest points in JDC's line-up are the inconsistent FTEs. I think the Shelby and Pontiac Stocker can take them both out.

Do you say this having already raced your and my teams -the match up we'll see Wednesday? If so, it kind of gives away the results.

Do you say this having already raced your and my teams -the match up we'll see Wednesday? If so, it kind of gives away the results.

No, actually. I mentioned previously that the match-up in week 2 between the El Camino and Super Snake went to like 20 races back and forth because both cars fail miserably on the bottom lane. 16 Angels is sometimes fast and sometimes not fast. In week 2 it lost its first race but then won its last 2 by a landslide. Inconsistent.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Still holding my breath to see how my cars did against what I believe will be their stiffest competition so far in the WorpeX 5.

JDC442 Racing vs WorpeX Racing

www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSk2w3Ejm1s

www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSk2w3Ejm1s

way 2 go W, wednesday night races

Week 6 is approaching fast and I've got 2 replacements ready to send for my match against arch nemesis JDC442.
I've gotta' to figure out which two to take off my team. The Corvette for sure, I just don't know between the Testarossa or Camaro. Decisions, decisions!

That was some crazy lose racing between JDC442 and Worpex!

-Make that close racing. I would blame it on auto correct or something. If I had a phone.

Gotta keep in mind the opponents that your cars lost to / beat. Just cause a car lost more then it won doesn't mean it should be replaced!! It might have had some tough match-ups in the start. Still have some more races left to decide!

I've got to race GsR this weekend After getting beat my WorpeX, and with the way my FTEs are performing, getting my a** handed to me by GsR, I'll also be sending in replacements for the big week 6 matchup withTeam Half Fast.

I just want to mention that the competition in this event is insane. If you didn't send the fastest of the fastest cars, you're not going to be able to compete. The 5 cars in my line-up ARE the fastest 5 in my collection. I did an FTE tournament to get the Lancer and Triumph and non-FTE tournament for the last 3. The fact that 4 of these 5 cars have at least one loss in this event is mind blowing. I've yet to have a big win here! I might be 3-0 but JDC is still ahead of me in points!!! What this event seems to be coming down to - after 3 weeks of racing - is line-up consistency. Sure some of us have some fantastic cars but all 5 need to be on the same level!! Some of the fastest cars in this event are on teams at the bottom of the standings because the rest of the line-up can't back it up - like #96, TLD Dieselboy and the Lumina Stocker.

ANYWAY! Here is an update! Remember back when I announced the prizes and someone was getting a High-Speed Wheels 1984 Pontiac & Ballistik after week 5? Well, here is the standings for that with each teams worst result removed from the list:

JDC442 Racing - 10pts
GsR - 9pts
WorpeX - 7pts
HalfFast - 6pts
FOTF - 6pts
hotrainiac - 6pts
DVB - 6pts
Nervehammer - 5pts
Weber Cabin - 3pts
Sloppy's - 3pts
Team Dirt - 1pt

LASTLY - I updated the first post with the Prize List and Achievements so we don't have to go digging through the posts to find them.

Cheers!

Cool! It's nice to be first in prize points...for now

Team Dirt - 1pt

What there must be some kind of mistake !

Big day for the Redline Derby!!! Middleweights II and Delivery Challenge is today and to add to that list... so is Week 4 of RNL!!!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj271u9ySN8

Enjoy!!

close racing W... very close racing... some of the standing's leaders recieved a spankins.... looked pretty good from down here...
. 26" of snow at my house !.... still got power... got internet back at 3;00 pm...

I BEAT CARL!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!! THE 300C IS NOT INVINCIBLE!!!!!
Excuse me, as I run in elation through downtown!

Carl and I got slammed. I expected as much against GsR, but I didn't believe Carl's 300 would go down this early in the competition. Thank goodness for substitutions!

I'm honestly surprised that my entries went 4-1 over JDC. I think the outcome might be more in his favor w/different match-ups. We'll see.

How `bout that Matchbox car!!

How `bout that Matchbox car!!

I'll confess I was disappointed that my fastest car went up against your slowest, but dude admit it, your top four cars are frickin' fast! Nice set of racers you got there.

I don't know for sure statistically, but the JDC / GspeedR seemed like a key match-up at this point in the game, and I'm surprised a bit by the outcaome as well. Good Job!

Thanks for doing the videos too Worpex! I really enjoy watching them.

That was a surprising video; I still don't have faith in his Nissan, but NerveHammer's got oneheck of a Funny Car.
And about substitutions--when are they due? Two weeks?

I'll confess I was disappointed that my fastest car went up against your slowest, but dude admit it, your top four cars are frickin' fast! Nice set of racers you got there.

Thanx JDC....FWIW, I know my cars are beatable. I've already raced the `67 Shelby & Pontiac Stocker in the C4 club races in MD. The Shelby was eliminated early by a club member's funny car and the Pontiac was beaten by one of Smitty's customs. Its just a matter of time.

We lost power at 8:30 Friday night and it just came back on at 8:25 Sunday morning, so I just watched the races. Great racing again! I didn't check to see how your predictions came out with everyone else, be you were 100% correct in my races with TLD.
Go buy a lottery ticket, quick!

I'm working on replacements for the Charger and the hot rod, and they'll be done soon.

Week 5 match-ups have been posted!!!!

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... zaHc&gid=7

Also, this isn't really a great week for me so I wont be doing a video. I'll still record the races though so maybe if McJiggles is interested, I can send him the files and he can do it this week. Either that, or i'll make the video at the end of the series... or never. idk.

OH...I'M RACING CARL.... swell, just swell !

The video will be missed, but I(we?) realize humbling NASCAR entries in key situations.

OH...I'M RACING CARL.... swell, just swell !

Yeah, sadly one of my uncles passed away today (he was like 90 something though) and with valentines this week and band practice, I wont really have the time to devote into it this week. Some great match-ups though. Perhaps i'll just make a highlights video and save it for the mid-week racing video next week.

Some great match-ups though. Perhaps i'll just make a highlights video and save it for the mid-week racing video next week.

Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Sorry to hear about your uncle.

WorpeX, my condolences as well.

Due to the circumstances I don't see anybody minding if the races were pushed back a week.

my condolances, race when you get the family stuff taken care of.... we happen to have two races going on to keep us going...

Thanks everyone, but the racing will still happen! McJiggles will do the video this week, so that will be a big help!

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Worpey.

Sorry to hear about your uncle Worpex.

Sorry to hear about your loss worpex. My condolences to you and your family!

NASCAR entries in key situations.

Hey man !!!! Don't try to guilt me out of what might be my only matchup with you that might turn out in my favor.

....guilt transfer unintended....and you personally assist in any way, please remember I'm only 1hr away.

Ok, time to move on with the league!! You've all been patiently waiting (well, I know Hotrainiac has been anyway) for the midweek racing so here it is!!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=8og8o4USAbI

Enjoy all!!

hometown boy does good... go worpex go...

Congrats Worpex........subs will be on the way. Car crusher at the junk yard will be anxiously awaiting the arrival of a certain corvette and fantasy car!!

I just finished my replacements tonight. They'll be getting boxed up in the morning and mailed. I think they're faster than the Charger and Hot Rod, but who knows.

I too have replacements enroute.
Going to replace the Corvette for sure and will decide on the other after the week 5 races.

Im going down to the Grand Canyon this weekend, so I'm going to post the Week 5 Video tonight, that WorpeX let me edit. Here ya go! Some great races this week!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1-SA_qQe60

Thanks for putting up the video McJiggles! Super close races, exciting stuff!

Great racing and videos! Very sorry to hear about your uncle, Worpmeister.
I still can't believe I lost to NerveHammer ...but I was thoroughly pleased to see the BWF Camaro destroy the Tomica. Good Funny Car race, NH.

Thanks for the video Jiggles! You did a great job!!! I can't believe the #99 crashed... haven't seen a crash on my track in YEARS and im glad I got it on video! Still can't figure out just how it happened... oh well! Great racing this week even if some of the matches were a little bit one sided, at least we didnt' see any 5-0's!

Edit: Got replacements in from Carl in the mail today!! Week 6 madness is starting!

Hey!!GspeedR thanks for the whoop'n Even your CUL8R looked like it found new life....or my Speed bump is wearing out. Anyway....time to suck it up and regroup. Subs were mailed out yesterday....hopefully they can revive a miserable showing in my first RDR series.

Yeah--when are subs due? Week 6 or 7?

After Round 5, we have a clear leader!! The Mid-Way point has been reached and the points leader is GsR Microracing!! A big congratulations to him as hes cleared his way through the first leg of the series undefeated and with only 4 total races lost. He has earned the first prize pack of the High-Speed Wheels "1984 Pontiac" & "Ballistik"!!!

Also, we have our first "FTE" Killer in the league!!!

[WpX] Cadillac V-16 has killed [SLJ] Chopped Classic Packard #99, [JDC] 16 Angels FTE and [TLD] Stingray Concept FTE!!!

There are 2 cars with one kill remaining to obtain the achievement!

[JDC] Sol-Aire CX4 has defeated [TLD] Dream Van XGW FTE2 and [WCR] Ambulance FTE.
[NHF] Firebird Funny Car has had the most impressive wins by beating [WpX] Triumph TR6 FTE and [THF] Chrysler 300C Hemi FTE!!

Still plenty of racing to go in the league!! 6 more weeks left!! Send in your replacements now to have a chance to advance to the play-offs!!! Remember, the top 6 advance so there are plenty of spots! There are a lot of teams which are sitting right around the 6th place mark - THF, WCR, TFF, DVB and FOTF who could use an extra boost!!!

SUBS START THIS WEEK (Week 6)!! If some subs arrive late, they will start on Week 7.

I'm sending my subs on Tuesday because Monday's a holiday. I don't remember seeing a date for that week 6 race replacements deadline. I had it in my head that the races were on the weekends, I didn't consider that you actually race the cars earlier in the week -my bad. Any chance you could wait to race Carl and my cars until Friday (I'm sure they'll be there before then). I'm sure Carl wouldn't object

Of the Cars with a 75% win rate and over [19 cars], here are the stats:

Lightweights [Under 40g] - 4
Middleweights [41g to 57g] - 8
Heavyweights [Over 57g] - 7

Middleweights are performing the best so far but the Heavies are keeping up! Keep this in mind when sending cars!!!

Yeah, you're right I didn't. Maybe ill take a week break to allow cars to arrive before week 6.

Thanks WorpeX! My cars will be there before the end of the week.
Also, interesting stats. Your track does seem to cater to the middle weights.

Wow! I never thought I'd have 4 undefeated cars @ this point. I'll ship out a genuine CUL8R everyone another stab at `em.

another stab at `em.

Congrats on your mid-season lead. I'll try to send in some replacement cars that can give your team a little competition for once. See ya in the playoffs!

My replacements were mailed Saturday, Priority, so you should have them by Wed. at the latest. The family and I are leaving Tuesday for vacation and won't be back until the 27th. Good luck to everyone if the races go in this week.

Replacements have arrived for DVB Racing and Team Friction Fiction!!!

Replacements have arrived for DVB Racing and Team Friction Fiction!!!

If it's not too much trouble, will there be pictures of the teams with the replacements added or maybe just the replacements

Ill post a picture with all the replacements once they all arrive. Waiting for cars from JDC, FOTF, GSpeed and McJiggles yet I believe... don't thing Nervehammer, Smitty or TLD are sending anything.

My single replacement is boxed up & leaving @ lunchtime today....should be there by Friday.

My two FTE replacements were sent yesterday.

TLD are sending anything?.

I don't think replacements are going to help my team at this point, besides I'm helping everyone with their FTE killer achievements or helping them with just plain wins,

yeh i'm with you T.L.D. i'm not sending replacements as everyone needs a punching bag !

FOTF reinforcements are going to be shipped out today; can you please wait--maybe you already are--to have my team's races until they get there? I'd rather not get another loss out of that immaculate Monte Carlo if I can help it.
Also, I thought JDC already sent replacements along with his initial five?
And can you please ship King Kenny and the Monte Carlo back after you get the next two? I'll send a few extra dollars along with them, as King Kenny was hoping to participate in the Drag Car challenge.

i have a kenny bernstein probe funnycar, are they any faster than the yellow and black version ?

Probe-grilled Mega Graphics? Those tend to be one of the faster ones; however, King Kenny and Castrol (John Force) I have heard several things about. Some say they take time to break down. At some point in their lives, I think that those two are faster than the others. Given that I think King Kenny used to be a bit faster, I'd have to go with the latter theory.
Or are you talking about Chuy Drag Team or the Not-So-Funny Car? I haven't had as much experience with them, but Chuy doesn't seem half bad.

He did but the competition is too steep so he wanted to send in faster ones! I'm not racing this week, waiting for the replacements to arrive first and do week 6 when they do.

Ill do my best with shipping Kenny back! Dunno how the rest of the FOTF team will feel about losing the fastest car on the team!

Gee, his cars just weren't fast enough, were they...
Thanks; and they'll cope...especially since one of the replacements is the 3rd-Place Middleweight of the WorpeX leg of Middleweight Challenge I. Besides, the joy of being rid of the Monte Carlo should offset any down feelings.

McJiggles cars arrived today! They look PRETTY too!! I really like this FTE Challenger... never seen it before!

McJiggles cars arrived today! They look PRETTY too!! I really like this FTE Challenger... never seen it before!

I got that in a Ebay lot of FTE's for parts, but I really liked it so I kept it alive for racing Let me know if they out race the Ambulance and Jeep

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I think all the cars are here!! Might end up racing today after-all!!

Car points page is updated: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... zaHc&gid=2

@FOTF: Going to be a close call getting the funny car back to you. Didn't get a chance to go to the post office today. Can probably ship via UPS on monday... unless you want me to ship it right to traction event instead of going to you. Might as well send my own cars for that event too while im at it. haha

HAHAHAHAHA , Green Car of Doom, its actually a BMW M1, but I like the name you gave it better

Carl: Looks like some really good match ups between you and me. That F-150 with the Texas flag looks sharp. Good luck and may the best cars win!!

WOW, WorpeX could charge admission to those races!
Good luck right back at ya' Jim.

Good idea! Send him along with the WorpeX bunch, he should know them well enough by now. Thanks--and I'm glad Havoline and the Willy's (or Willis, however you spell that) made it.

Back to Back RNL this week!!! Week 6 is finished and the results are in!!!! *drumroll*

SLOPPIES ARE SHUT OUT... go fotf go

JDC's new 'Stockar FTE' looks pretty quick....could be trouble 4me in round #2.

I'd be more worried about Week 8 then the play-offs!

I'd be more worried about Week 8 then the play-offs!

At this point, I realize the target on my back is pretty large so I'll probably cheer on the car(s) that'll eventually beat mine.

I'd be more worried about Week 8 then the play-offs!

My Cadillac 16 FTE was a bit faster than the Stockar FTE, which means Carl's F-150 "Texas Proud" is smokin' fast!

and WorpeX has that winning attitude!

. . . which means Carl's F-150 "Texas Proud" is smokin' fast!

Great race JDC!
Sure glad I sent in the pick 'em up truck!

Not that my points really matter much anymore , but my F-150 has only run one race. Points standings show two.

Orange Thing! I love it!
Good race, Smitty. It was nice of you to let Havoline and the Orange Thing have a crack at winning before they get killed my JDC's bunch.
WorpeX--thanks for making sure the new cars got in by week 6. Great video.

Hey, DadVBall--is that the same Magnum that came in second in the LJLRC?

Thanks! I have no idea what that Orange truck actually is... so I just named it Orange Thing for now.

Worpex....It looks like a Johnny Lightning 1933 Willys panel truck.

yessir, 'hotrainiac' knows his JL....http://www.jlcollector.net/837.html....

Hey, DadVBall--is that the same Magnum that came in second in the LJLRC?

No. This was a later find and pretty much just as fast. It's just a little heavier then the stock version thanks to some fishing weights. I was hoping the original would do well at the club meet but it went out early.

Good idea! Send him along with the WorpeX bunch, he should know them well enough by now. Thanks--and I'm glad Havoline and the Willy's (or Willis, however you spell that) made it.

HOTraniac is correct! But I don't really care either way--Orange Thing is plenty suitable.

right on fotf, it's a '33 WILLYS delivery...
a delivery has [1 rear door] on a car chassis .... a panel has [2 rear doors] on a pick up chassis.

Just finished watching the great racing from this past weekend as we were away. I had hoped for a little better with my two replacements, but the competition was really tough. Congrats Worpex. And it certainly doesn't look any better for me this weekend going against GsR. Gonna have to keep my fingers crossed.

Worpex, I was looking at the individual car points standings and my Mustang is short one race. Wasn't sure if it was a win or a loss, so I just watched all the races again and it looks to be a win, with a loss in week 2.
Thanks for the videos and awesome racing again!

Oops, sorry, you're right! Thanks and fixed!

Week 7 results are in!!! Enjoy!! Song is Crysis 2 - Rampage [Suite] requested by JDC442!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=no0fWeTRCoM

congrats to the 5 and 0 teams.... 0 and 5 team, not so much !

DvB's Dodge Magnum gave my Pontiac Stocker very lucky to come out on top in that match.

Thanks WorpeX! The Crysis 2 soundtrack made my match with FOTF that much more intense.
It looked as though GsR was going to lose that first match up. No such luck -he's simply too fast!
and Nice win Team Half Fast!

Congrats to GsR and all the other winning teams. I had my fingers crossed watching my Magnum but the GsR team is tough to beat. There's always next week.
Thanks Worpex for the great (once again) video action!

Week 8 Match-ups are posted!

Also, we have our SECOND FTE KILLER Infinity G37 FTE2!!

GsR~ what is that black car with the ghost on it? Is it a Matchbox?

GsR~ what is that black car with the ghost on it? Is it a Matchbox?

Yes, a 1985 MBX Halley's Comet commemorative car. There were 3 castings originally offered in black with the ugly 'ghostly comet' tampos...a Pontiac Firebird SE, a Mercury Police car, and the Chevy Pro Stocker. Last year, a Halley's Comet Firebird caught my interest in the DCR racing series(it was competitive & consistent against heavy HW Ferraris). I was lucky enough to find this Pro Stocker(in blister) on a flea market table...it was less than $1.

And along with that Front Runnin' Fairmont, its probably one of the fastest cars i've ever seen.

Wow! That's quite a compliment coming from that. The Faimont & Pro Stocker just happened to be prime candidates. But there's still several weeks of racing left and I already know these substitute cars won't go down easily.

Smart move! Probably picked cars which have high acceleration since the track is short? Just my guess! I think at this point in the event, its mostly a battle for second place as I am doubtful that anyone is going to put your team to rest. You still have 4 undefeated cars, which is insane at this point in the series! Though im going to do my best to take them out!

That was a good thing about King Kenny; while he wasn't too good on the straight, he was excellent at initial acceleration (look closely at the video with him vs. NerveHammer's F/C).

Hey, WorpeX--is the Failure Monte Carlo on its way back?

Hey, WorpeX--is the Failure Monte Carlo on its way back?

Nope, was going to send it back with the other cars when the series was over.

Oh. Is there any chance you could send it back sooner?--if it isn't inconvenient? It's harder to race the cars at home with so many spaces in between them, and maybe it wouldn't embarrass itself so much at the RI clubs.

Just shipped it home this morning! Should be back in CT by the end of the week.

Onto more important matters... WEEK 8

www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eFUl2Vvov0 Stingray Concept FTE!!!

---
PLAYOFFS PICTURE:

The gap between 6th and 7th has grown much larger as neither Weber Cabin, DVB or Friction Fiction were able to pick up a lot of points this week - which these teams desperately need!

At the top of the bracket, GsR officially secured a top 2 finish this week with his big win against WorpeX Racing. The only team with a chance of catching him now is JDC and its a long shot. GsR needs to lose his last 2 races 0 - 5 for that to happen! WorpeX Racing dropped down to 4th with FOTF and HalfFast closing in quick! Nervehammer jumps to 3rd in the series!

Week 9 brings us some key races as GsR finally gets a much needed rest. WeberCabin is against the shattered WorpeX Racing which is looking to regain its honor in this match. WCR needs a big win here or else they're basically done as they have yet to have a bye meaning they can only get a max of 10 more points. JDC and FOTF should have easy 4-1 or 5-0 wins this week. FrictionFiction has to deal with NerveHammerFTE who is on a hotstreak. Team Fiction desperately needs points if they want to say alive!

The big match this week is DVB vs Team HalfFast. I can't help but feel as if DVB has an incredible team but has yet to really be able to show their potential. The team is down a ton of points but they're against the 5/6th place Team HalfFast. Both teams are sitting at 3 wins and 4 losses! A big win from DVB would bring him back into this tournament! HalfFast is looking at pulling away and breaking the top 4 and he can do it too...

We'll have to see what happens in week 9!

Edit: Also, there will be no video for Week 9... sorry guys! Ill be on vacation next weekend so I wont be around!

No problem. Thanks for the awesome racing and videos (and the compliments to my team). I had hope for a little better showing but it is what it is.
I'm also "still learning".

Have a great vacation!

yeh, way 2 go worpex... even in last place it is still fun.

Another splendid week of racing WorpeX! I really thought your Lancer Evol Fte was gonna take down the Cul8r Fte, but don't feel bad, TEam GsR has put a lot of good teams to shame. I think it's time we check the Front Runnin' Fairmont and the black Chevy Prostock for Juicing! They're so fast, it looks as though their being propelled down the track

! They're so fast, it looks as though their being propelled down the track

....no a lot.

! They're so fast, it looks as though their being propelled down the track

I thought for sure you'd comment about the funny car's loss to the Viper! That was quite an unexpected win. I was stunned!

yeh, way 2 go worpex... even in last place it is still fun.

That's what I was gonna say! but it looks like I have leap frogged the Sloppies, so even in next to last place it's still fun...turns out it's actually more fun than last place

I thought for sure you'd comment about the funny car's loss to the Viper! That was quite an unexpected win. I was stunned!

That was unexpected. My Probe Funny Car took the first race easy, the second race looked like a tie to me, then the third race went to the Viper and then it was over, just like that

Okay, just watched the video again. The Viper was ahead in every race. The first race: the Probe jumped ahead at the end, the second race: too little too late for the Probe and the third race: the Probe ran out of nitrous. Plain and simple, the Viper was faster that day. Nice race Nerve Hammer!

After the second race I had to consult the replay on my camera to find the winner. I literally stood there for 10 minutes trying to stop the video in the right place and decide who won that race! Very close!

Nice Viper! My Vipers of that body wouldn't stand a chance against a Funny Car like that.
Glad to see another victory for FOTF, though I'm kind of surprised that Havoline seems to be the 'weak link,' given that it was one of the two cars out of this house to actually prove itself on this track in the past; however, I won't be too hard on it, as that Ferrari seems fast.
Thanks WorpeX for shipping it back; it hasn't arrived yet, but I guess that's nothing to worry about--it took longer than this to arrive at the finish line at your house.

Just realized that I forgot to post this... Meant to do it on Friday but I guess it slipped my mind... hmmm sorry!!

---

Apart from 1 match, Week 9 was rather uneventful. Here is a recap of each match starting from the most uninteresting to the most thrilling!!

JDC442 Racing 5 - 0 Sloppy Jalopies

No surprise here. Since the Replacement period hit, Smitties team has been getting slammed in every match. However, #96 did look good against the Cadilac V-16 FTE and almost pulled out an upset. JDC pulled out the win by a bumper though. On the bright side, Smitty is getting close to the "pity points" achievement... JDC is now officially in the play-offs with GsR as of this week!

Team Dirt 1 - 4 FOTF Racing

The Dieselboy from Team Dirt has been the teams only bright spot all season. It kept the team from going 0-5 three times this season... and this week makes it four! The Dream Van did pull out a surprisingly close loss however, but the Cadillac Escalade pulled out the win by a nose! FOTF has been making a strong end of season charge and is looking good for a play-off spot!!

WorpeX Racing 4 - 1 Weber Cabin Racing

Sadly, WorpeX Racing has eliminated Weber Cabin from play-off contention for this season. It was a good run for the team but they simply were unable to hold up against this insanely fast competition. WCR should feel very proud however, to know that the Lumina Stocker FTE put up strong results all season. In week 9 it took down the Way 2 Fast in the closest match of the week! The race went back and forth 5 or 6 times, both cars favoring the bottom lane. However, the Lumina pulled through in the end! Overall, a strong comeback for WorpeX Racing but a poor performance for WCR...

DVB Racing 1 - 4 Team HalfFast

HalfFast puts DVB into a tight spot as they dominate the team this week. Statistically, its still possible for DVB to get a play-off spot... but that would require the team to not drop a single point in the next 2 matches and either THF, FOTF or NHF to not win more then 2 races. HalfFast's Shoe Box seems to be the only weak point on the team and this week was no exception. It lost to the FTE2 Super Snake of DVB for its 4th straight loss.

And here its... the match of the week and perhaps the biggest upset of the season so far!

Nervehammer FTE Racing 2 - 3 FrictionFiction Racing

This match-up was close right from the very start. The Escalade and Corvette ZR1 went to 3 races before the Corvette stood victorious! Then it was NerveHammers turn as the Viper took the lackluster Hot Rod FTE to the cleaners. The always dependable Ferrari F40 just barely squeezed past the GT Racer. However, Nervehammer wasn't giving up. The Speed Bump seems to be struggling as of late but the Firebird Funny car shows no remorse whatsoever! The match is tied up at 2-2... both teams have one of their weakest racers left. The Wildcat vs Fairlady Z... The race begins as a nailbiter but at the very end of the track it was the WILDCAT who took the checkered flag and gave FrictionFiction new life! The team has a lot of work to do if they want to qualify for the play-offs but with this win under their belt its a very real possibility!

Achievements after round 9!

Firebird Funny Car has become an FTE Killer!!!

Probe Funny Car has also become an FTE Killer!!!

Congratulations to both teams! Expect an extra gift with your return cars!

PLAYOFF INFORMATION
---

As the play-offs are coming closer and closer, I want to make something known to those who expect to qualify: There will be a final replacement period right before the play-offs. HOWEVER, only 1 change can be made and the replacement car MUST have already participated in the series. No sending in new cars!

Glad to hear of another win! Also glad Havoline got his act together.
Kind of too bad King Kenny is elsewhere...but no matter; you can bet I won't be sending that Monte Carlo back to fight again--and by the way, he just made it home today. Thanks WorpeX--and nice Christmas envelope! Good racing.
Are the playoffs going to be structured the same as the ordinary weeks? Just with less teams?

Are the playoffs going to be structured the same as the ordinary weeks? Just with less teams?

Yes and no. 1st and 2nd will get a bye in the first round of the play-offs and its single elimination. It'll work like this:

Play-off Round 1:

1st (bye)
3rd vs 6th
4th vs 5th
2nd (bye)

Play-off Round 2:

1st vs Winner 3rd vs 6th
2nd vs Winner 4th vs 5th

Then the finals.

Glad to know you're car arrived safe and sound and that you're still following the league! I get the impression that the excitement has died down for almost everyone else. Haven't even heard from NerveHammer since the league started... hope hes still following the league. I'm sure the action will pick-up once the playoffs starts!

So my team is on thin ice. Seeing as the ice is starting to melt around here it doesn't look to promising. No big deal. I've enjoyed participating and look forward to every weekend for the results. It's still tons of fun, just wish we did a little better.
Thanks for doing this Worpex!

Hope you had a great vacation.

I'm still here! I just haven't been typing my emotions, which turn out to be a delight in my team. Somewhat. I don't want to say this, cause FOTF would have a field day about this, but
the Faillady Z is not doing as good as in Florida!

I'm still here too WorpeX!
Watching every week (and wishing I'd sent something besides that damned Shoebox!).

I'm still here too WorpeX!
Watching every week (and wishing I'd sent something besides that damned Shoebox!).

So does this mean we might see a return of the 93 Camaro or Corvette Z1? That might end up being a tough decision for you if the ShoeBox doesn't start to perform in the last 2 weeks!

Busy weekend again for me, so no video. However, I do sort of regret not making one as two of the matches were very good!

Like last time, I will list the races from the most mundane to the most exciting!

Team FrictionFiction Racing 4 - 1 Sloppy Jalopies

Anyone following the league closely enough could have predicted this result without much effort. Sloppy Jalopies clutch #96 got an unlucky pairing against the slow (but gorgeous) Hot Rod FTE which resulted in the teams only win this week. Perhaps if the car had been against the Wildcat, the result may have been different, but as it stands, TFF will keep their playoff dreams alive. However, they're up against JDC Racing next week. They need to somehow manage to win with a score of at least 4-1 if they wish to get into the playoffs!!

GsR Microracing 5 - 0 Weber Cabin Racing

The last team match for Weber Cabin ends in a disaster! GsR smoked another one. However, the McJiggles's team gave it a good try. The Lumina FTE vs Cul8tor FTE battle went into overtime! The blue chevy managed to squeeze in a few wins but when the timer ran out, the Cul8tor was able to win on the top and bottom lane consecutively before it did- ending the series.

NerveHammerFTE Racing 4 - 1 Team Dirt

This race almost went sour for NHF! His team pulled an early 3-0 lead against the Dream Van and 2 duds of Team Dirt but when the forth race lined up, things changed. The Dieselboy snagged yet another win in what ended up being a "Middleweight Challenge Series I" duel. In that series, the Dieselboy performed much better then the GT Racer... and the results in RNL confirmed that. The last race was with the Fairlady Z and Stingray FTE. The results were almost staggering as the later pulled the very first win in the series due to an unfortunate "hop" on the track. But, the Z pulled its act together and won the last 2 races to end the match in NerveHammers favor!

Dodge RT/10 Viper is now an FTE killer!!! That gives two cars from NerveHammerFTE the award! Congratulations to him on that, but you can only get the achievement once!!

DVB Racing 1 - 4 FOTF Racing

With dreams of advancing to play-offs fading for DVB, the team knew that this could be their last chance! They had good match-ups this week as well but would they be enough??? Nope. Luck was not on the teams side! An (expected) early loss to the Orange Thing set the team back early but the two DVB FTEs should have statistically been wins this week. The Infinity pulled through against White Lightning, but the Shelby did not. The car started out with an early lead in both races but eventually hit a break in the orange track poorly - causing the car to lose much speed and allow the Escalade to finish off the match with wins. The teams new Magnum also was unable to pull through... even though it lost by only a bumper to the Thunderbird Stocker! FOTF officially qualifies for the play-offs as of this week! DVB's play-off hopes and dreams were officially crushed - but at least they had fun and perhaps they will do better in the as-of-yet "unannounced" individual car brackets... (woops, did I say?)

WorpeX Racing 3 - 2 Team HalfFast

Perhaps this match was the most exciting cause it was my team, but man I wish I had my camera for this one! Things start off rather poorly for WorpeX Racing as the Dieselboy gets slammed by the 300C and the FastBack FTE (JUST BARELY) squeezes by the Way 2 Fast. But, things start to look up for the team when The Triumph FTE and V-16 defeat the lackluster Shoebox and Testarossa! Tied up at 2-2, everything was at stake here. Team HalfFast needs that 3rd point to effectively knock out GsR Microracing next week!!

Full Results can be found here: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... aHc&gid=12

Also, if someone could check double check my math with the team points, that would be fantastic. Thanks!!!

The Lancer Evolution FTE somehow squeezed a win against the Week 8 FTE killer: 1997 Ford F-150.

Amazing! That F-150 is super fast!

Amazing! That F-150 is super fast!

Yeah, I thought I was toast but the Evo pulled through for me!

Congrats to FOTF and all of the other winners! I was looking forward to this weeks as we race each other often at the LJLRC. I'm disappointed in the results but maybe I'll get him at the April club meeting.
If there's any positives in my team it's that at least they manage to stay pretty close (although close only counts in horse shoes ) and it gives me something to build on.
Worpex, it has been a blast and I've enjoyed all your videos and reports, thank you.

Good race, Bill; sorry to do that to you.
Glad to hear FOTF's in the playoffs! Thanks for the update, WorpeX--and next week should be interesting. WX and FOTF are racing each other, tied in points, and my team has a possibility to achieve an achievement.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again...don't mess with the

Every match next week should be a good one! I'll definitely video it. I'm probably most excited for Team Dirt vs Sloppy Jalopies though. That match could go either way and I can't even begin to predict the result! The Two top teams are against the two teams still fighting for a play-off spot also. FOTF vs WpX should also go down in history as a great race as we are both tied up and fighting for 3rd place! Although, NerveHammer might sneak in and steal 3rd from us if he gets a big win against DVB. Lucky for me, I win the tiebreaker vs him... but FOTF doesn't!

Thanks for the update, WorpeX!

Sorry, McJiggles...nothin' personal, man. You see, my cars have 'minds of thier own' and have been on a rampant streak of domination lately..."Type A" personalities, for sure!

GspeedR

HELLO WORPEX... is it snowing yet ?

Haha its ok Gspeed, I gave up on this series a while ago

but dont get me wrong im still enjoying the results!

Wow! Just finished the racing and I can't WAIT to show everyone the video!!! Probably my favorite week all season. Some surprising results in this one!!

Don't know if it's gonna make any difference, but I've got my fingers crossed.

SHOW US THE VIDEO!!!!!

With a three way tie for third place, things are getting dicey moving into the playoffs. Can't wait to see the Fastest of the Fast / WorpeX battle! The Lancer FTE/ black with flames Johnny Camaro race could be epic!

Don't kid yourself, JDC--the Camaro will be the only one going down in flames between those two.
Hey WorpeX, did I catch wind of additional races with all the cars?...

Hey WorpeX, did I catch wind of additional races with all the cars?...

Finally, someone noticed! I intend to do a single-elimination tournament consisting of cars which: 1) Haven't received an achievement during the regular season ("FTE Killer" or "True Performance") and 2) Have won at least 1 race during the regular season. Winner will get some prize which I haven't announced yet...

Cool! Sounds like an award for GSpeedR, TLD's Dieselboy, or the Orange Thing.

Awesome, We'll see what my Lumina Stocker has in store

Cool! Sounds like an award for GSpeedR, TLD's Dieselboy, or the Orange Thing.

The only GspeedR cars which would be competing would be the Cul8tor and Cul8tor FTE (yes, cars which were removed will also be competing!). The rest all have the "True Performance" achievement. I haven't really did the math yet to see how many cars are in or not yet, so we'll see. Probably not going to hold this event until the week before the team league final. The Orange Thing is a big competitor for the win! All of my cars are in it too besides the V-16 and don't count out Smitty's #96! Finally has a chance to prove itself!

Remind me -what's the True Performance award?
Can't wait to see which cars will be competing.

8+ wins!

Getting antsy while waiting for the next WorpeX video to come out, so I decided to make a "Top R.N.L. Racers" spreadsheet for anyone interested. Check it out, see where your car(s) rank
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoBsHCszPzxGdGRlMVNsdl9EZEdrbWtZcnU1SVF3ZUE#gid=0

Awesome spreadsheet!! Thanks for making it!!!

Nice! That makes it a lot easier to tell which cars are at the top (or rather, which ones are closest behind GSpeedR ).
Too bad I didn't leave King Kenny around. The Orange Thing would probably beat him anyway, though.

Oh, I just noticed--I think the White Lightning Silverado is listed as 'Modified' (if that's what 'M' stands for). Despite the strange white tires, it's actually stock--just a rare version.

Once again...unbelievable. But its nice to know all the hours of testing paid off.

And I'm very interested to see how thing .

Question about playoffs:

How should we do match-ups for this important series? During the season it was all random. However, now that the matches are much more crucial. Should we keep it the same or have it go by win percentages? Thoughts?

Great way to round-off and exciting regular season of racing. Epic matchups this week!

Congrats to GsR on a perfect season and finishing in first! Congrats to all of the other qualifiers as well. This should be an interesting finals and I'm looking forward to the action.

Great job on all the racing and recording Worpex!!! It was fun! Thank you.

AWESOME CONCLUSION! Great racing, Worpster!
The Orange Thing keeps its 100% sign clean, BWF Camaro gets an achievement, and FOTF defeats the Home Team...talk about a Happy Easter!
Thanks for the F40, and I see your point about the Playoffs. Whatever you do, I think you should make sure that the same cars don't race each other again. Will you race the participation prizes?

Thanks! You had a good week! I'll definitely make sure the same cars don't race again, thats a good point. I wont race the participation prizes.

Excellent work WorpeX! Another great video.
I was thinking that the individual matchups in the playoffs should be by rank -#5 vs. #5, up to #1 vs. #1. However, doing it randomly is always interesting, because depending on how the matchups turn out, advantage could go either way. Still, I believe I'd prefer.

Wait, did Team Half Fast actually put a chink in the GsR armor, handing the Shelby it's first defeat? Way to go 300 Hemi!!!

Wait, did TeamHalfFast actually put a chink in the GsR armor, handing the Shelby it's first defeat? Way to go 300 Hemi!!!

Woo Hoo! I saw the video but didn't realize that I was the only one to beat a GsR car.
Now that should be an "Achievement"!

I think the graphite is (finally) wearing off on the GsR cars! They all looked a little bit tired in this match compared to their usual performance. The Pontiac Stocker just barely beat the Testarossa! Might make the finals a bit more interesting.

Graphite does have its limits, although Carl's cars usually make my cars look slow.

I've updated the Top R.N.L. Series Racers sheet to reflect the top racers at the completion of the regular season. Check it out. Four more cars were added to the ranks.

Awesome; one thing--WorpeX's Cadillac is listed as having raced only nine times.
I'm looking forward to them, too. Will they all be done in one week, or will they last three weeks? Including the Subtle Singles Race.

Wow..2 cars with 90%! By the way, 500th post!

I noticed the Cadillac thing too... but didn't say anything cause I was enjoying the higher placement. Im thinking about just doing the whole play-offs in one week with the singles race before that. Then everything will be done in 2 weeks and I can get to shipping everything back!

Brackets have been created!!! I think the racing for the Mid-Tier tournament is going to be spectacular!!! Check it out and let me know what you think!

Seems good to me!

What about making car changes before the playoffs?
I've got to dump that Shoebox!

I guess I should check my PMs before checking the forums!

Super cool Worp! I've got all four of my FTE entries running in this one.

I'm pretty burnt out from making videos so this is how this event will work!

Each day I will run the next round of the series and then report the results on the bracket. I'll do a quick write up on interesting matches on the forum as well. However, the series will be put to a hold once the Semi-Finals (top 4) cars are announced. I will video these races and put the results in the championship video (which includes the team league finale)!

So, 1st Round will start today!! Round 1 results are posted here: challonge.com/RNL/

--- Round 1 Summary ---

Most of the results were one sided. However, two close races were with Team HalfFast extra's as they both squeezed past their opponent in a 2-1 race. Very tight racing both times! I don't expect either car to get past round 2, but we'll see how they do regardless!! I was in a bit of disbelief when I saw the [TFF] Wildcat absolutely crush [GsR]'s Cul8tor. I guess after seeing his cars win so much, I forgot what it was like to watch the slower brother of the Cul8tor FTE run!

The Jeep Scrambler ALMOST won on the top lane against the El Camino, bringing back flashbacks of why the car was removed from JDC's team. However, it ended up winning regardless. In the final race, the Magmum almost got beat by the Ambulance FTE, however, the unstable rescue vehicle wobbled at the bottom of the track in both race which allowed the Dodge to take the win. No other race was very close as the rest were a car length or more wins.

I'm ready for tomorrow where 32 cars will race!!

My reaction while reading my loser cars almost take out some real threats.

Sounds good WorpeX. Save the video for the playoffs.
I think my two FTE cars that were replaced are just plain tired. Great! My worn out El Camino fte is going up against Worp's Triumph FTE next

Cool! Day-by-day episodes of RNL instead of weekly.

ROUND 2

Bracked updated: challonge.com/RNL

VERY CLOSE racing this week! very few races were won by over a car length. Almost all of them were close and a bunch were back and forth till the end! 3 upsets this week (seeding wise) and they were huge!! Here is a recap:

FOTF will have to face himself tomorrow as both of his cars won convincingly. Should be an interesting race to see the Orange Willies against the White Lightning!

The [WpX] Way 2 Fast was the only round 1 winner moving on this week as it just barely squeezed past the fading Speed Bump FTE!! The first race was a dead heat. Without a video, I just couldn't tell who won it. Second race, the Speed Bump clearly won the top lane but the next two were the Way 2 Fast! Winning on the bottom lane by only a nose! It'll battle against another FOTF car: the Thunderbird Stocker which made short work of the Buick Wildcat. Finally, the self-proclaimed "FTE Killer" defeated its 3rd FTE in this event! A shame that the Achievements are over now...

THE SECOND CRASH in R.N.L history happened with the Cadillac V-16 FTE this week! Wish I had a video for this one, it was quite an amusing one! It clearly was winning the bottom lane against [WCR] Chevy Impala Stocker. However, at the bottom of the track it went over the railing and into the Impala's lane sideways... luckily for JDC, the Stocker pushed him to the finish line and it won regardless. The V-16 will face DVB next week as the Ford Pick-up pulled through against the BMW M1.

Close racing in the next few races, but all of them had clear winners. The Lumina, Cul8tor FTE, Delivery #96 and infinity will all move on into Round 3!

In a flash back from Week 3's match-up, The El Camino got a second shot at the Triumph FTE... and blew it again! Both cars won on the top lanes handedly, but eventually, the Triumph got sick of toying with JDC and sped past him on the bottom lane. We will see a WorpeX Racing battle royal next week as it faces against the Lancer Evolution!!

JDC seems to be the topic of discussion this week, as his cars had the most interesting matches. Luckily, the Stockcar was spotless this week as it won against the Dream Van (although it was surprisingly close!). The 16 Angels FTE however... was upset. BAD. Team Friction Fiction's new Corvette showed that consistency is more important then speed! The 16 angels had a few races which it dominated, but it also had a few races which... stunk. Eventually, it stunk twice in a row and let the Corvette win!

The new Magnum ALMOST pulled an upset this week against the Dieselboy of TLD. But, it didn't happen. The Dieselboy will square off against FOTF's final car, the Escalade, tomorrow!

I don't think the team's pulled together like this all season! Way 2 go fast FOTF! I guess this is the sort of racing they're used to--at the clubs. As for the Orange Lightning, I'd have to bet on Panel over Pick-up.
And...down with the Tomica once more.

Lightning, I'd have to bet on Panel over Pick-up.
And...down with the Tomica once more.

It's losing it's speed. Wait till my Impreza races ya! Wait, its not racing!

6000th view! Beat ya, FOTF!

6000th view! Beat ya, FOTF!

Darn it!

What do you mean 'losing' speed?...it never had any in the first place...

What do you mean 'losing' speed?...it never had any in the first place...

When I send the Russian army after you, you'll change your mind! (sorry, ran out of witty comebacks)

Not if they have Tomica Tanks...

Wow! I still have two cars in this. This is cool!

Round 3 results! challonge.com/RNL

The second FOTF vs FOTF match-up is line-up for tomorrow as the Orange Willies took down his teammate, White Lightning Silverado, today. It'll be up against the Thunderbird stocker in a battle for a Semi-Final slot! The Stocker only beat the Way 2 Fast by a headlight in both races. VERY close match. Tomorrow should be another good race!

The only upset this round was when the #12 seed, Sedan Delivery #96, took out the #5 Lumina Stocker FTE in a convincing 2-0 race! #96 goes into the Quarter Finals as the highest remaining seed left. It will face the #4 seed tomorrow, the Cadillac V-16 FTE who had no trouble against the [DVB] Ford Pick-up.

The still undefeated [GsR] Cul8tor FTE took out the [DVB]Infinity G37 FTE2 and will be facing off against the Fastest FTE in the WorpeX Racing team! We know this because they were force to have a showdown this week! The Triumph just wasn't fast enough to edge out the Evolution, but they went back and forth numerous times.

The Stockcar FTE took revenge on the [TFF] Corvette ZR1 which took out another JDC car in the previous round. It'll move on to face [TLD] Dieselboy as it advanced by reducing the FOTF count in this event to just 2.

---

Tomorrow is Re-Match week!! #96 wants to take revenge on the Cadillac V-16 FTE after losing to it during the season! Also, The Lancer Evolution suffered a loss to the Cul8tor FTE during the season. Perhaps the results in the tournament will be different! We'll have to see!

Thanks, WorpeX!
Told ya Panel would outdo Pickup. Too bad for the Escalade, but I guess that was inevitable.

Round 4! The final day!
challonge.com/RNL

The Top 4 cars have been chosen... and they were the top 4 seeds as well! Although the racing was VERY close, there was no upsets this round.

Cars moving on: Orange Willies, Cadillac V-16 FTE, Cul8tor FTE, Stockcar FTE. 3 of these cars are currently undefeated in RNL!

GO ORANGE THING!

Good to see my two replacement cars doing the team proud.

Any idea when you'll have the playoff video ready?

Good to see my two replacement cars doing the team proud.

Any idea when you'll have the playoff video ready?

The weekend probably. The light over the track burned out, I need to replace that before the racing begins...

WorpeX, when this is finished, can you please ship Sinisterdog's Camaro and my Orange Thing to Jiggler's place? We'd like to use them in Factory Wars. I'll pay you for the extra shipping. I'd ship them myself, but I doubt they'd make it here--and then to Factory Wars--in time.

Sorry, they won't make it out of my house in time. You'll have to find other cars. Haven't raced them yet and I don't expect to have the racing done by Saturday morning (which is the only time I can get to USPS).

Oh, okay. Thanks anyway (I guess it pays to have a third fast BWF Camaro on hand!). But 'None of the Above'...that's gonna be a tricky one. I might have to try modifying for that. The RIHWC can tell you allll about what happens when I get into modifying...
See you in the playoffs!

The RIHWC can tell you allll about what happens when I get into modifying...

A horrendous disaster?

A horrendous disaster?

Picture a Back Slider. With a Chevelle on it. That Chevelle is filled with putty to make it heavier. Now picture about three tons more of putty used to hold that Chevelle onto the back of the Slider, along with a few strips of Scotch tape. The RIHWC people were disgusted to merely look at it, let alone touch it...

it...

Oh the horror!!! Haha that's not too horrendous. I once taped 2 VW Brasilias to each other, when I tried to make a 4oz car.

Oh the horror!!! Haha that's not too horrendous. I once taped 2 VW Brasilias to each other, when I tried to make a 4oz car.

Yeah, I used to consider strapping a couple of big vans to each other--roof-to-roof. I've also considered letting a BWF Camaro bumpdraft a Boogie Van.
But you did make it faster.
I currently have a 'Bumblebee' Boogie Van, hollowed out and stuffed with little weights and putty with Bling wheels. I've never gotten around to sticking FTE's on it; but when I do...

Haven't updated this lately. Going to go with JDC's method of best vs best. However, it may not be exact as I don't want any repeat matches from the first time the teams faced each other. So! Here we go:

NerveHammer FTE Racing
Cadillac V-16 vs Firebird Funny Car
Triumph FTE vs Viper RT/10
Lancer Evolution FTE vs Cadillac Escalade
Way 2 Fast vs GT Racer
Dieselboy vs Fairlady Z

Team HalfFast
Orange Willies vs Mustang Fastback FTE
'69 BWF Camaro vs Chrysler 300C FTE
Ford Thunderbird Stocker vs 1997 Ford F150
Cadillac Escalade vs 2009 Corvette Z1*
White Lightning Silverado vs Ferrari Testarossa

*Corvette to replace Shoe Box for play-offs. Also, Corvette vs Silverado was already raced in week 3, resulting in a silverado win.

Wow, good job GSpeedR! I'm honestly surprised to get 100% killed. But that's all right--maybe GSpeedR's going to win or something.

I just took another look at the first video team FOTF was in...then I saw this afterwards.

Well, Carl...this weekend's video should be interesting, shouldn't it?

I did my RNL homework, and I saw something strange. GsR's Chevy Pro Stocker didn't beat BWF as badly as HF's Mustang; however, the Chevy did beat the Mustang--2-0. Worse than it beat the Camaro. I found that interesting.

Team Friction Fiction have both loaded up their trailers and are ready to head back home on Saturday! After such a long event, the cars are ready to return back to a race coarse that they are more familiar with! I hope both teams had a great time, even though neither advanced into the play-offs!!

If the owner of both of these teams could send me a Private Message with a return shipping address, that would be fantastic! I just want to make sure that they get home safely!

Thanks!!

WorpeX, I sent you a PM with a link to the Mail-in Racer Database.

Worpex, my team had a great time. The crews will get together after a short vacation to survey any damage and then get back to work determining which areas need work to improve our performance. The Factory Wars team was slow getting organized and only finalized their entries in the last few days. Only one car was modified due to serious setbacks trying to modify two of the others. Still, they are hoping to show some improvement. They're already getting cocky with the RNL guys, but there's nothing wrong with a little in-house competition. We'll have to wait and see.
Thanks again for hosting such a great event. The videos and commentary were awesome! I looked forward to the weekends. Great job!

Sending you a pm with my address just in case.

[...tension mounts and suspense rises, as the racers silently bide their time, waiting...waiting...for the last of the Great Videos to appear...who will come out on top?...the suspense is enough to kill...]

Finally! The time has come to put RNL to an end!! I want to thank everyone for participating! I had an absolute blast with this event!!! I hope the final video is a worthy conclusion to such a massive challenge!! You all sent in some seriously fast cars!! Only the fastest cars can win though... was it yours? Find out below!!

REDLINE NATIONAL LEAGUE: GRAND FINALS

www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJwFOCvlL50

Also, as promised, DVB Racing and Team Friction Fiction were sent home yesterday morning with your cars and prizes. Please let me know when they arrive so that I know they got home safely! Thanks!

[i:dk22ud4d]Watch the video, I don't want to spoil it!

Same here; awesome job to the Winner-Not-Yet-To-Be-Named!

And Carl...starting to think a little higher about the BWF? Huh? Gonna give 'em a little more...consideration?
Bad day for the Orange Thing, but he already did his part.

I don't mind if you guys spoil! After my post, its fair game as far as im concerned. CONGRATS TO GsR FOR WINNING THE WHOLE KITTEN CABOODLE! And to JDC for winning the single elimination tournament!

super hosting of the shebang... congrats Gspeedr and all those who graced the playoff brackets

Where are my manners?
WorpeX, I too want to thank you for hosting this shendig.
It's been fun waiting for/anticipating the weekly races.

My pleasure guys!! I'm glad you all enjoyed it!!!

If anyone wants their cars returned ASAP, let me know. My intention was to get FOTF's cars out next weekend because he likes to ship them all over the place. TLD is going home last because I will ship my Nascar event cars with his RNL entries. Other then them, they are just going back home randomly right now.

So... Who wants to host R.N.L 2?

WorpeX, THANK YOU so much for putting together this style of series. I've always liked the "team system" because it usually requires more all of you.

GspeedR

Exhibition Tournament: The Orange Thing handily beat my V-16 fte in the very first race, but after that it looked pretty good to the end. Glad I made that substitution mid season

Playoffs: Some close racing here. It was exciting to see WorpeX and Half Fast make it to the semi's, both going 3 and 2. *and yes, the BWF Camaro is fast, we get it FOTF.

WorpeX vs. GsR: The Comet (Chevy Pro Stocker) and Front Runnin' Fairmount were just plain unstoppable the whole series, but although WorpeX did manage to get a win from the Champ, GsR looked pretty dominate as usual.

My RDR racing hat is off to you GsR. Great showing!!!

WorpeX~ this series was the most exciting and fun Hot Wheels event I've ever participated in. THANKS FOR THE RIDE MY FRIEND!!!

Congrats to GSR, and all the finalists....great stuff. Learned plenty watching the videos.

Where are my manners? [/

WorpeX, I thank you very much for hosting this series; it has been a great event with excellent videos and awesome competition! One of my favorite events so far on this site--and that's nothing against the others.
WAY TO RACE 'EM, WORPMEISTER!!!

Photos of the winners cars with their prizes!!! Thought it would make for fun photos.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

GsR picked up a total of 6 achievements during the event!!!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Ford GT40 and BMW M1 are prizes for winning the individual car tournament! Also, JDC has 2 more mainline cars coming to him, but I ran out. Need to pick some more up this week.

Do GsR's achievements include 'RNL Entrant Killer X 10'?

I remember you asked who wanted stuff shipped ASAP...if that means in time for Sinisterdog's Camaro and my Orange Thing to make Jiggler's place, send them there if you can. Otherwise, no need to inconvenience yourself--they'll get here in plenty of time for whatever they might next be racing in.

Great prizes!

once again, WorpeX!

The prizes look terrific...this is Lotus...can't wait to get it on the track.

CONGRATS to GsR and JDC!!!

Worpex, thanks again for hosting such a fun event. This was only my third mail in event and it was a ton of fun looking forward to each weekend's racing. I'm glad I got to participate.
Also, my cars arrived today and I just had to run against each other. The Infinity is still tops, but not by much. Thank you very much for the Caddy and the Ferrari. I'll be checking them out this weekend when I have more time.

Thanks for posting the sweet team photos with our prizes. GsR really scored!
Those are some cool prizes! I've never bought any High Speed Wheels -can't wait to test it out. Love the two Hot Ones as well -two models I haven't seen in my local stores. THANKS AGAIN WORPEX!!!!

Yeah, that was the first and last time I saw them! Hot One's shelves don't re-stock in my area... I was out of town when I found those.

Check any Dollar Tree stores as they had the Hot Ones here for a while. I bought both of those there.

I have Sloppy Jalopies all boxed up and ready for shipping tomorrow morning!

I need to find me a nice big box at work for GsR and JDC's pile of winnings.

you're a good man charlie brown !

All 3 of those teams have shipped! Let me know when they arrive please

Also, I appear to be one short on FTE cars for prizes... which means either Carl has to get a mainline or maybe GsR/JDC can donate their to him? I'll keep looking for one more but they aren't easy to find anymore...

i haven't sent out gspeedr's middies yet... i will toss in an '05 fte if that helps... let me know W.

.just got my very well packed cars back from PA., thanks W, and for the soon to be drilled purple '32 vicky

My cars got back today--thanks for the great prizes! Good thing to get in the mail on your birthday.
I'm trying to remember what they were for...BWF got the FTE, the F40 was for participation, one of the mainlines was for beating the home team, but...what were the other two for again?

I included a piece of paper in that box somewhere with all that info. haha

Oh. I'll have to find that.

Hey Nervehammer, did your cars make it home? Haven't heard from you.

Sorry for the delay on shipping guys. Team Dirt were sent out today!! ETA is monday for GsR and next saturday for TLD.

Only 2 teams left to ship....

yeah, they arrived.

Thankx WorpeX! I'll check my PO on Saturday.

Edit 5/11: I picked up the cars this morning. Its great to have my 'front line' cars back in the paddock and the prizes are awesome. The Silver Bullet runs really well on my road coarse and the blue Aston Martin w/PR5s is freaky-fast...it ran sub-3sec times and easily beat an FTE version of the same casting.

@GspeedR: Sweet!! Glad the cars are fast for you! I've always liked the SIlver Bullet casting.

@TLD: Did you get your cars?

@Carl/JDC: You guys should be expecting a package! Shipping your cars out today. Sorry for the massive delay.
