Car #2 is on it's way...and that one is going to remain my Secret Weapon...not to be revealed until the race!

If anyone wants a grudge match with that one, feel free. Mind you, I don't even have the car here yet! :)

  • That Fleetside still had the original cover & 2 original surfboards underneath it! — delta6
  • Awesome! — 72_Chevy_C10
  • Great bodies there. Should be able to make those top competitors Daniel — JDC442
  • Vintage metal... Dig it — Traction-Event
  • Not my favorite castings, but all of em have long wide and evenly spaced stances. — delta6

Traction ~ of my original redlines, I think this is my fastest.  Do you want to throw something at it for Grudge?

  • Sure thing, race my mod Lola? You win... You get Ooh Lola...? How tall is that car, hate to see it hit the finish line... Pretty car — Traction-Event
  • Not really what I was thinking. The old redliine is fast, but not sure if it can take a Traction mod?? — JDC442
  • Do you have any stock redlines to race my stock redline? — JDC442
  • Cue FOTF! — KandORacing
  • ok, got it my Stock Lola from the Beater Burnout? — Traction-Event
  • That Lola was pretty fast I do remember -let's do it! — JDC442
  • If I can get past your stock Lola, I'd be willing to try your mod if beating it meant I could keep it ;) — JDC442
  • I'll admit, I'd be interested to see if my stock Redlines could take the stock competition here as they have at the RIHWC... — FOTF

Found two cars to mod for this, then looked up the Ferrari 512S on ebay to see if it was valuable or not.  I thought it might be rare and turns out it kinda is.  Well, I just have one to mod now I guess (the Bugeye) -don't have it in me to tear apart the 1972 edition Ferrari.  I have several original redlines, but either they're too narrow to be good racers, or precious to me to tear apart.

  • Fair enough... I'd rather see beater cars re-worked than the "good" originals — Traction-Event
  • Hey JDC that bugeye with enamel paint has some value too. — cliffordshaw
  • You're right. Back to the drawing board I guess. — JDC442

Nightstalker and C-10,  here is one option for the car length lead...  what do you think? My concern is the car higher up on the ramp will have an advantage...at least in my testing. Maybe the car length lead is the other way around in this case...so for you guys Stalker would launch normally, and C-10 get the "lead". this would give Stalker the height advantage.

Using a different starting height does make it a little tricky. How about putting  mark on the track (or something for the car to "hit") one car length back from the finish line and launching the cars from the same height...use the video to determine the winner.

What do you think, Stalker?

  • yup, even start with 1 car length marked off before the finish line. making 1 lane 1 length shorter. — Nightstalker

Ok, better Idea... like C-10 said at the far end of the track... I will place a foam block = to 1 car length (or whatever is negotiated) the car will hit this block and run it through the finish line. easy on the car and track.

CrzyTrkrDude's Demon, almost ready to go. I just need to get some weight in it...

http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w407/critterwerks/20151129_203132_zpspeawcxex.jpg

  • MUCH APPRECIATED BROTHER!! LOOKS GOOOOD!!! THANK YOU! — CrzyTrkrDude
  • chop top! ummmmm Luggage rack maybe?? lol — CrzyTrkrDude
  • I'll see what I can do! And I'll test it with the weight added...I'll see if you should joint the grudge match fray! — 72_Chevy_C10
  • crazy trucker demon ! — fordman

Here is my competing car: The Demon from 1970, nicknamed "Guillaume". Same color as CrzyTrkrDude's Demon. This could be the its long lost brother!

This car was once driven by a skilled drag racer who had once beaten a Noodlehead in 1971. As soon as the racer retired from drag racing, the car was left unloved and was eventually sent to a junkyard to be scrapped along with eleven other Demons (This was actually part of a junkyard lot). Decades later, the cars were discovered and one was revived into a slick drag racer. Weight was added and FTE2 wheels were installed. It also has a low center of gravity.

  • I had a long lost twin?? mind. blown! — CrzyTrkrDude
  • geez looeez, i may look an see if i have a demon? — fordman
  • long lost triplet?? — CrzyTrkrDude

This is gonna be tough competition for a skinny wiggler like the custom barracuda.....the plotting begins

Guillaume just beat every single Redline I own. It even beat a Heavyweight by 3 times its length! I might make a second car that might beat it once I get more FTE wheels.

  • I see a van in there...and some potential robber...are you planning on running in some of the upcoming races? — 72_Chevy_C10
  • is that a Warpath? a red white and blue warpath? from the track set? — CrzyTrkrDude
  • I have a White Warpath at home :) — 72_Chevy_C10
  • I bought a vintage single lane, 4 speed launch, loop track with a 180* bend — CrzyTrkrDude
  • in the orig box. orig rubber bands. back in Feb. Only the car is missing. the stars and stripes R,W,Blue Warpath. — CrzyTrkrDude

I will be sending in a second Demon, nicknamed "Marchal." This car is just as fast as Guillaume (maybe faster by a millimeter. It was from the same junkyard lot. However, the J.B. weld on its axles are weak, and if its axles are going to become loose, then I might choose a different car instead.

Also, I will ship both cars in a plastic first aid kit as well as $4 for return shipping to prevent them from being crushed (I once shipped a Redline lot to someone and they were pancaked when he got them). When they're shipped back, will they be shipped with the plastic case?

  • did you use J B Rivets on your axles? — fordman
  • If you want the cars shipped back in a case, then that's how they'll be returned — Traction-Event
