Hey CrzyTrkrDude,

Is this what you are missing?

  • looks like the one on the box. yeppers!! that one was my favorite when I was 7/8 years old too. I loved the little opening doors!!! — CrzyTrkrDude

My Super Van might be used as a secondary car instead of Marchal. It's got a lot of weight but not too much. Since the car can easily be pulled apart without drilling, would I still have to drill its rivets?

Hey TrackSurgeon,  no further drilling required, of it already comes apart, but be sure to JB Weld it before racing. But, check the weight on that van...the limit is 57 grams and those are usually up around 70 stock...I'd hate to see it get painted pink!

  • I might swap its base to a plastic one from a Ranger Rig if its more than 57 grams. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon
  • the modern red or white supervan should match right up. they are pretty common now. — CrzyTrkrDude

Are Hot Wheels with the first type of FTEs still being made? I use them on my second car. FTE2s will cause too much friction.

  • You're looking for 2005-06 FTE's for the best results...the later ones aren't as good — 72_Chevy_C10

Tore the roof and windshield off the "hot heap", packed the interior with lead, JB riveted on a pair of polished axle, corvette, FTEs and a '34 convertible grill and mill...

way 2 fast's grill, front mill, low c-gt's polished FTE axles on the vicky's '34 coupe base, needs windshield and lead.................. assembly

still no pic skills

FTE2 wheels will cause too much friction, so I've created Guillaume II, which has FTE wheels instead. I also added a motor from an Ice T by drilling a hole in its engine bay. I might still race the first one, but I might use a different car model such as a Mutt Mobile or a T-Bird.

  • Demon cars all over the place! I have one as a 'Robber' car as well! :) — 72_Chevy_C10

  • Guillaume II is much faster than the first despite being lighter. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon

I'll be sending my cars in next week...and I'll send your Beetles back to you in the same box. I'm looking forward to these races!

Like the back parts of Redline wheels, would bending the axles outwards reduce friction? I kinda gave Guillaume II some negative camber.

  • experimentation will prove out your theory, test it and see. make sure it tracks straight, that will pay big dividends. — Traction-Event

IMO... i feel that any camber will transfer weight / friction out to the flared end of the axle or back against the "backing plate"/ base...

Okay, I've found an old redline I'm willing to disassemble.  Hoping to find time tomorrow to set it up with some smooth fte axles and a good supply of lead.

I've found 15 good candidates for my second car while searching through a box of them.

  • I've always thought the Ice Tee would make a cool 5th wheel truck for a custom car hauler or camper of some type. — CrzyTrkrDude
