Rubber Tire test
Hello all,
I am new to the community and I have been adding details to some cars. I have noticed that you can do so much at the 1/64 scale and this is honestly amazing.
I am reaching out here as I am thinking of creating a rubber tire (real riders or aftermarket) tournament. I am building a custom table to represent a street racing scenario and looking to post the videos online. I wanted to test the waters and see if there was even interest in modifying and racing the rubber tires as I have seen mostly the plastic tires raced here.
I am new to the site and the community so I am sorry if I have posted a boring topic or posted in the wrong area. I would love to get some "street racing" tournaments going and create a racing scene for the rubber tire cars also.
Thanks

Just going to revive this topic a bit.
I have got my track and my ideas set up and have put my track on the directory here:

This is a rubber tire, launcher based, real streets, list racing. About as real to "street racing" as we can get. This is a totally new venture for most as this isnt gravity fed nor are we doing Modified plastic tire cars. I will be doing mail ins for the list and if you want to try to get on the list. Track will move locations and all will be on real asphault at real locatoins. Would love to get at least 10 different drivers to send cars to start this "Real Street' list.
Here is a link to the test hit on the track.
Looks good! I'd be interested in this. Maybe 70-80 grams would be ideal for rubber tires

First off, welcome to Redline Derby! Glad you found us and hope you have fun while you're here...and there are no boring topics!
I've often considered doing a Real Riders tournament as well, just never pulled the trigger. We all know the rubber makes cars slow but I think that could be the fun challenge.
So if you have a track and want to accept mail-in entries, go for it! You'll find some takers here and we'll do our best to support your venture into the hobby. And once you get your track built and ready for primetime, add it to the Track Directory and then create a new race event and you're all set.
