Braunstone Speedway
So after getting addicted thanks to 3D, clearing the attic that I have been meaning to do for 4 years, and buying Hot Wheels stuff, I'm I a position to start building a semi-permanent structure.
Semi because, it may be too loud up here when daughter is in bed and I have to access via a loft ladder, and we are hoping to get a garden room to have a track fully set up permanently! So this is a tester for me, and it's going well so far......

Awesome! Don't cars lull kids to sleep? Or is that only if you take them in the car with you? ;)
Ran some tests, I put a temporary wider straight after the Crash Racers track which helps when cars have spun on the Crash Racers set. They block the whole track if they spin side wards but the wider part allows cars past then.
So will need to have a play around and maybe have a wider straight on the middle section as well as on the finishing straight as well.
I'll have another play around with it tomorrow.
- Play around? You mean do some more research, surely? — EcuWeeEcosse
- Ah yes, research! Slight challenge is my wife's birthday is on Wednesday and she is 30, so the pressure is on! — ghenty
Good one!
Looking good Ghenty. There is some serious light in there for a loft space, very nice indeed.
I'm guessing you are in Leicester then?
- It's a massive tube light in there! Was there when I moved in, it's excellent. Yes, Leicester born and bred, you know Leicester well Pete? — ghenty
- Is Leicester particularly well-known for its light and airy lofts? — EcuWeeEcosse
- Not especially known for airy lofts, lol, but I recognise Braunstone as an area of Leicester. — TuxMcBea
- Reasonably well Ghenty, I live up the road in Long Eaton so not too far away. — TuxMcBea
- Ah yes, not far at all! — ghenty
Where can I get some good black track that will attach to orange hot wheels track. And I'd love to host races but I would need a quality finish timer which seems hard to get.
- If you mean black coloured single lane track, that is pretty rare as generally you can have any colour you like as long as it is orange! — EcuWeeEcosse
- I know that ghost jerker now sells some self-adhesive prints that can be stuck to (and then removed from) orange track so I presume you could get some sign vinyl from a local signwriter, they can even cut it all to the right width for you, and use that to colour it. I'll do a test with some vinyl I still have lying around and let you know how it goes. — Chaos_Canyon
- I'd be really interested in that as in an ideal world would maybe colour my single lane track grey to make it look a bit more like tarmac. Painting presumably not an option as would flake off when the track flexed and dyeing sounds messy. — EcuWeeEcosse
