Matchbox 61st Anniversary Mail-In Series
Round the Third:
78 D6 vs. 73 WC--close racing, D6 by a car length (which WAS close compared to many of the races)
77 FOTF vs. 70 Traction--NECK AND NECK, but the Laser Wheels are too much for the FTEs
96 C10 vs. 79 D6--C10 barely manages to avoid being skunked, but his one race pales to Delta's two; Audi moves on
69 TE vs. 75 Webber--Traction's "Mustache Car" (you can thank Kyle Morin for coming up with that) prevails; Webber wasn't feeling it this round
WHO'S READY FOR THE SEMI-FINALS?!?!
Semi-Finals:
78 Delta vs. 77 FOTF--very close racing between these two, but American Muscle loses out to the Foreigner Tuner; 77 Nissan moves along to face...
79 Delta vs. 69 Traction--Delta has better luck against the Mustachemobile, winning by 1/2-car lengths
Who will go down in Pontiac Festival history? Probably everyone still around at this point, but read on for particulars...
THE FINALS HAVE ARRIVED.
FOTF, with a Stock #77 Red Laser Wheels Nissan 300ZX
vs.
Delta 6, with a Modded #79 Matte-Black FTE Audi R8
First Race: Close run down the track--Audi gets ahead and takes it
Second Race: Close run down the track--Nissan gets ahead and takes it
Third Race: Delta picks the absolute worst time to forget to use the gas, getting a slow start and pretty much giving FOTF the win
Congrats to everyone who scored points, thanks for letting me host for this series, and FINALLY I've won SOMETHING with one of the alleged Laser Wheels! Thanks also to D6 for his Audi's apparent generosity--I checked the wheels after (and actually before) the race, but did not find anything wrong with them.

Thanks and Congratulations FOTF. I loved the commentary. My car and I both have enough weight to be an anchor but not a winner. I need to get lucky and draw Brain again next race.lol Great job thanks again.
Congrats FOTF! Thanks for hosting and good job on the write up!
I was glad to see that my Javelin made a few more rounds...and that the F100 finally got out of the first round! I'll be looking forward to the results from the next two weeks!
Are the cars at D6 raceway park? .... looking forward to more action this weekend. I'd like another shot at that Javelin....
- I'm hoping that the Javelin likes D6 as much as much as my hauler did! :) — 72_Chevy_C10
- They should be there soon. — KandORacing
- You won't be disappointed C10 — JDC442
In case you were wondering why on earth I built a Javelin (of all things!), or why I had an old Javelin Matchbox car, here's a pic of my first car...a '71 Javelin, 304, 4-speed

- nice first car...go c10 go ! — model40fan
- Thanks Smitty...I had it my Senior year in HS...had to be a little different! — 72_Chevy_C10
- I wish I could have a car like that, I just have a '93 Jeep Wrangler. — KandORacing
- It was a great car, but I had a black '73 Javelin with a 360 , that I wish I still had! — 72_Chevy_C10
Glad you enjoyed it, C10--nice Javelin, by the way!
The cars should be arriving in WA today (I should still have the tracking number--just not on hand--so I can post it if necessary). As for where they're going in WA...
This week, I have been extremely bogged down with getting my college application ready, and with looking more into the college in question and contacting their staff. I did not get that package out until Wednesday. It was already way too expensive at that point (I figured it would be, but I won't say what it actually turned out to be), so I wanted to get it out then instead of waiting till Thursday. I got the box ready shortly before SDR got come (very shortly before the post office closed), but I realized I did not have Delta6's address. K&O didn't, either, but he said that Delta6 lives right next door to JDC442. So, he...had me ship it to JDC. (Happy Birthday, JDC--have a box of Matchboxes.) I don't know if he's told JDC or D6 about this yet--I haven't, I've hardly even been on here.
Also (again, forgive my ineptitude--I was in a rush), after I had sent them, I realized that I apparently still have the brackets. As far as that goes, I will see what I can do with copying and pasting pictures here and/or scanning them and sending them to D6 in an email.
Sorry again for this. If nothing more, at least I've made JDC's day by giving him a free surprise package.
- Yep, I let JDC know about the cars going there, he said it's OK with him. Can't wait to race! — KandORacing
ROUND NUMERO DUE:
Brian's Police Thing vs. 78 Delta--need I really say who won? Ha-ha-ha--sorry, Brian
73 Webber vs. 95 C10--Webber wins with some fairly close runs
94 Stawka vs. 77 FOTF--nothing went wrong with the Challenger this time, but it still couldn't quite keep up with FOTF
70 TE vs. 81 K&O--no hope for Oregon
83 Old Hen vs. 96 C10--72_Chevy takes it, with a car-length in the second round
76 FOTF vs. 79 Delta--Beauty coincides with speed here, the Audi defeats the Ford in three runs
71 Ralley C. vs. 69 Traction--69 pulls away, especially on the straights, to the win
75 Webber C. vs. 80 K&O--they were neck-&-neck...the first time. Webber wins
Onward to round number three...
