So I figured, instead of cluttering up the forum with lots of threads, we can just have one thread which we keep adding too.

Any new cars you have picked up recently and want to share, post them here!

Ill go first.

So I found some AWESOME cars this weekend... and the two of the cars I was most looking forward to racing... ended up being complete duds. : / These cars being the "Gold Medal Speed" Ferrari Testarossa and this ridiculous fluorescent orange GT Racer. lol Both of these cars had wheels which barely moved. It was quite disappointed, especially since i've been looking for the Ferrari for awhile.

However! On that note, I did also pick-up some other great cars. I finally found a Cadillac V-16 (Bling wheels) and I have to say, that the impressive reputation this car has about it being one of the fastest track cars... is very accurate. This thing FLYs down the track. It has such a smooth ride too. My high expectations were exceeded... truly amazing car!

Other cars I picked up were a Straight Pipes FTE (Very good looking car, I like it!), Sweet 16 (A lot of tracks had one of these, so I definitely needed to pick one up), Pontiac Banshee (Nice car, faster then I expected!), Ford GT-40 and a Dodge Concept Car (Which I already have a lot of, but I couldn't resist. I really liked the paint scheme on this one... and I just like the styling a lot too. haha)

So anyway! Good stuff.

Sorry to hear, WorpeX. I hate duds. I found 3 unopened "Gold Metal Speed" Ferraris in my collection today and opening funny car so I was able to quickly loosen them from above. I'm hoping it will "break-in" with some repeated runs down the track.

And I'm still looking for my 1st Cadillac V16...glad that you're happy with yours.

YEA I GOT 30 OF THOSE TOO TIGHT FIREBIRD FUNNYCARS, I THOUGHT THEY WOULD MAKE GREAT "MATCH" RACERS, ABSOLUTE DOGS, AND NOT GREYHOUNDS... YOU GOT TO MESS WITH THE FRONT WHEELS EVERY PASS...

My friend got these Hot Wheels for me at an auction.

Another friend got me this shirt!

Thanks Brian!

Good to 'see' you Jim! cute kiddo!

Man I'm diggin that BMW M1...too cool. And the Speed Racer Mach 5!

I need to get some ADD shirts made up...

hello b.j.,
sing me up for a large A.D.D..tee, and FOR FRED, a kids med.OR SMALLEST YOU HAVE,HE'LL GROW.... he'll be gravity stylin...'
checkbook and pen in hand!. thanks smitty

I'll have to do kid sizes soon too, just so my own can have one! And that has to be one the happiest kids I've ever seen. Good to finally put some faces to names, my friend.

Love that Speed Racer car too..and a Land Rover, you know that thing can haul. Wonder how that Buick Stocker will do...? I think I have one of those that I got in Nashville, it's a promo car but it's all metal and more loose than the Chevy Stocker so it might do better.

Mines not bad... but also not good. It's one of those filler cars for tournaments that you know it'll never win, but you also still know that it will put up a fight! worpex.net/player_stats.php?playerID=16

Nice finds JDC! I have that exact Chevy Flashsider and it is INSANELY fast. (This one: worpex.net/player_stats.php?playerID=61)

I sooooo want one of those Land Rovers, especially before November 12th as my youngest son is just barley in the lead for the truck division in our league races---with just one race to go. I want to try one of these to see if it will clinch it for him. But man, they keep going for way to much on E-Bay. $9.00 and Im not spending that much on one of those.

Its my last must have car to race that I dont have yet.

For those buick stockers, I think the wheels stick out to far to really be a good race car.

Nice haul! Great looking shirt, too.

Just let me know when the ADD shirts are finished and I'll be inline for one.
I've done a couple of Texas Diecast Racing shirts but have been thinking of doing more.

Here's a couple of my recent finds.

Is that the highly acclaimed black w/ flames Camaro?

Where'd you find so many Rescue Rangers?

Yes it is! I got another back up......

One of the club guys had a bunch sitting out so I picked up all of them. Not bad for 50 cents each!

Nice score, Jason. I have one of those red `40 Ford Coupe FEs ready to ship out to Brian for a future fantasy league.

Lunch today...Walmart redline series cars and some Astro Funks for customizing...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

So stange that one Walmart has the must up to date cars with some 2012 cars already, and this one which is much nicer is putting out stock from several months ago, I has missed the White Astro Funks when they were released.

Love the white w/ redline wheel cars

I've yet to see any Redline cars. They're so cool too.

I need to get back out and shop, apparently! I love that little Astro Funk car and I'll be damned if I don't find myself an A-Team van. I just have some many cars in backlog for the league that I've purchased on top of donations and there's more on the way!! It's a lot to manage and organize.

liked the pix of astro funk...had not seen one...[ exept bryan's race car, i thought he built it from fangula] ...ordered a couple... see if i can make one go... ED ROTH LIVES....

ED ROTH LIVES....

That's funny. Dennis Roth is a friend of mine and he was with me when I first found the Astro Funk. I passed it along to him and then didn't find another one for a month, lol. He's a big fan of the car too!

Are the redline versions exclusive to Walmart?

These are my hauls from a recent roadtrip (excluding FTE's, they are on the FTE thread). There were a few more but they were uncarded and raced or tested in Austin last Monday.

carl,
i see a nomad and a '41 willys [ no wing ] in your stash... i can e-mail you rough plans to mount the willys on the nomad base... run a key chain ring trough the rear window of the spare no-mad body , or cut the roof off...
[pre- monkey mobile ]...

Nice find on the Camaro black with flames Street Freaks. I've been looking every now and then, but they are always way too expensive. I saw one go on The Toy Peddler for a few bucks a while back, so mad I missed it.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Group shot of the cars i've picked up over the last 3 or 4 weeks! I'm very happy with a few of these and quite surprised by some others! The top prospects in this list are the Way 2 Fast, Cadillac V16, Ferrari F40, Fire Eater, Super Comp Dragster (Great car btw, this is my second one and both are very speedy!), Italia, and of course, the Turbolence.

Also, I love the paint scheme on this Italia! I couldn't resist picking it up because of it, although I also love the one on the Dodge Concept Car, F40 and Firebird too. haha.

A few of these cars I only ended up getting cause they were in the Redline Derby (Like the Rennen Rig, which is pretty crappy on my track... although slightly better then the NSX). I was pleasantly surprised that Yur So Fast actually lived up to its namesake and wasn't half bad on my track at all! This Nova I picked up also seems to be a pretty accurate representation of the Redline car... its fast enough to win races, but slow enough to never really win any tournaments! haha

So anyway, that's my quick rundown! Most of you have already seen my video and watched the Sweet 16 and Lakester race, so not much to say on them!

Nice bunch of cars WorpeX. I think that Turbolence is a first edition model, very nice. These cars would make for a most interesting tournament on your track. I'd love to find out which one is the fastest

turbolance needs FTEs, mine has gold 5 dots, heavy but..... lakester ^, way 2 fast ^,

Nice bunch of cars WorpeX. I think that Turbolence is a first edition model, very nice. These cars would make for a most interesting tournament on your track. I'd love to find out which one is the fastest

Definitely! Perhaps I'll make a new video of it too. The first video was just a test with 4 cars, but a whole 16 car field would be fun! Would have to remove a few from that lot though... probably the FTE and some of the crappy ones like the Rennen Rig, Back Slider and NSX. Not sure what else though... haha.

WorpeX~ the 16 cars I'd like to see go: Sweet 16, F40, F50, Way 2 Fast, Italia, Turbolence, Mustang Fastback, Cadillac V16, Dodge Concept, Corvette C6, Ford GT, Yur So Fast, Fire Eater, Firebird, Nova and that hot looking green and black muscle car. If you think your Comp Dragster is faster than any of these 16, then by all means switch them out.

I think I can do that! I definitely want to put in the Super Comp though. Ill probably take out the Dodge Concept car since it isn't all that good (In all fairness though, are any?). The Super Comp has a good chance of getting pretty far in this tournament, so I'd like to see how it does!

Made the rounds today and picked up a few more cars. I got all the FTEs that were out there (some for the wheels!) plus a few others to modify someday.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Notice the yellow Corvette in the center, it has mismatched wheels! What's up with that?

And my buddy hooked me up with some track!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The plan is to replicate the Austin Diecast Drags 25ft track with the help of Redline Derby's plans. Now I've got to figure out a start box and finish line.

Nice score on the track!

Nice find on the Camaro black with flames Street Freaks. I've been looking every now and then, but they are always way too expensive. I saw one go on The Toy Peddler for a few bucks a while back, so mad I missed it.

I stole this one for $5!

Another roll? Geezoo! I just need to suck it up and paid the outrageous eBay prices...

Another roll? Geezoo! I just need to suck it up and paid the outrageous eBay prices...

I got lucky. Mine damn near fell in my lap! (thanks again Jim if you're reading this!)

CARL, I SEE A COUPLE OF ASTRO FUNKS IN YOUR HAUL...SNIPPED OFF THE INDUCTION AND SIDE RAILS, SANDED THE FIRE WALL AND RADIATOR SURFACES FLAT, DROPPED THEM ON A WAY 2 FAST BASE, SANS FRONT ENGINE, GRILL... "way 2 funky" ?

Finally found myself an A-Team van at TRU and and Astro Funk. The Boss looks pretty bitchin too.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Man I keep seeing cars I've missed in 2011...like that Mustang!

I found these yesterday at Target which usually has crap for cars...sure enough there were only about 20 cars on the pegs but found these

Ferrari FF and Skyline...thought it was an FTE at first

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

FF is definately getting new wheels...FTE's or ?

That Skyline is pretty sweet. At TRU I saw a few 2012 models out already, I think.

Walmart I usually go to has had 2012 cars for a month or so already.
My TRU is even worse than Target for putting out fresh cars, but that allows me to catch a few I missed.
I'm trying to slow down...I'm running out of storage area!

b

Yesterday at lunch I was out on my little fold up bicycle running some errands and stopped by a toy store I had noticed a few weeks ago. It's called Anna's Toy Depot and sells new and used toys, games, etc. It was great to see and was busy.
Needless to say there were 4 big bins full of little cars with lots of Hot Wheels.

I didn't get to spend too much time there but came home with these for $5.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Got a sweet Cadillac Cien FTE (wheels seem to spin forever), El Camino FTE, reissue redline Mongoose and Demon, a couple of Ferrari's and others that peaked my interest for customs, etc.

I'll be going back soon to dig some more!

That reminds me I need to go re-visit a little hobby shop in town here that had some older cars for still a $1. And they have trains!

Nice find Jobe. I'll bet there are still some good pickin's in those 4 totes!

Today I was on a mission to find FTEs with the old wheels. Could't resist picking up a few others too.
Stopped at a few Dollar General and Family Dollar strores and found these:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

. . . then over to Target for these:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

. . . next over to Toys R Us. They must have gotten a new shipment in! I saw cars I hadn't seen before. Ended up with these:

GO CARL GO...

Ahh the Lotus Concept! I was so disappointed by that car, haha. I saw it and was like, "Huge wheels, rolls pretty well, seems rather aerodynamic enough..." and then raced it to find out that it was complete garbage. Maybe I just haven't given it enough of a chance, but it doesn't seem to even keep up with the slower cars.

Nice finds their otherwise!

Thanks guys!
I thought the same thing about the Lotus Concept, hope mine does better. Right now I'm building some cars for the next Hardcore Downhill Series and I've got to get my track built so I can do some testing.

Wow, looks like you had fun on your little shopping spree! Nice Treasure Hunt score there too...especially to find those in the wild is a treat, I've only found a few. Love the Rescue Ranger in that 5-pack. And if you're into the modding/customizing, the Mad Fast engine is like gold. I know Jobe uses it a lot in his blown engine customs and they look great.

Best part is you got all that fun for like $20! I love this hobby!!

Thanks guys!

about that testing... every team in this season's H.D.S. has had their best total points day on someone else's track... there is NOT a home track advantage....yet... can't wait to see you in the other lane, on your track...

ditto on this hobby...$ $ $ mad fast engine for a buck....christmas....

Best part is you got all that fun for like $20! I love this hobby!!

Well said, Brian...and that really means a lot in this money-grubbing economy! Its also the main reason I got myself into this again.

Nice score, Carl.

Damn Carl...I think you got the bug serious like!

Wow, a treasure hunt. I've found one so far...wish it had been the Tucker.

Nice scores, I might to have make my rounds today at lunch to see if there is anything new out...or old...or cool...

yeah, I've got the bug bad as well...wish I had more time for customs but I've been out at my shop working on my truck, my car or building furniture every night lately...

@Jobe - You're like the Gepetto of Texas! Watch out for those whales.

I didn't want to bore y'all with the cars I found this week but I had to share what just happened. I made a quick trip to the grocery store and while there I went down the smallish toy isle. Found the Hot Wheels peg and there were only three cars on it. The first car was some fantasy something or other. I reached for the second one and it was a Tucker Torpedo. As I'm taking it off of the peg I'm thinking that Jobe said he was looking for a Tucker Treasure Hunt and I was wondering if he'd settle for this one. Then I realized that it WAS a Treasure Hunt! Apparently Tuckers aren't popular 'round here and the collector guys must not frequent this store. Bryan, this one's for you next time I get over there!

carl,...............it appears that you're a good man charlie brown... nice of you to part with the little FU..., i mean, Tucker !

Awesome! I think I have both of your wants as well...

Ok, another lunch time jaunt to the little used toy store I found the other day.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Got a couple of Ferrari's I didn't have...Testarossa, 456 and a plastic bodied 308 with goofball graphics.
Lambo Diablo for customizing, sweet black Camaro and a couple of cars just for the wheels.
The Testarossa and Diablo have not been played with, they had dust all over them as if they were displayed.

Also picked up these two guys...light up McDonalds happy meal cars...too cool, again like new.

Like!

just got an order of $ .50 bent card cars.... the "toys for tots" kids will get 72 out of a hundred...
hey, even cool cars get their cards bent ! 28 GO UNDER THE KNIFE...

I think I need to make a Toy Donation as well this year...great idea!

in the box of cars was a '05 FTE "low c gt" not real heavy but large wheels, appears to be a metal base and a balanced body... any good ?

I only have one car thats still carded. That would be a final run Mercedes Unimog and its only still in the package because it has lousy wheels and would never be a good racer anyway.

Great that you're making a donation! I'm sure the kids will be very happy!

i'm with you worpex, open 'em up... [ 4 ] today...

just saw a - classic hot rod cruiser '32 ford special sedan delivery- on ebay, listed as new... does mattel make a midnight otto as a fenderless delivery ? tires look too shiny, rear quarter window seems too deep... like it was done from the inside...
if it is a custom, the guy should say so, as it LOOKS GOOD !

So, I took my daughters to a local dollar store to look for some bargains. Of coarse, they found some...but so did I.

2009 Drag Strip Demons "Wedge Dragsters" w/RR for $2.50ea...
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

and a 2008 Connect Cars "Arkansas" `57 Chevy for $3...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Believe it or not, the store had almost the entire 2009 'Drag Strip Demons' series on the pegs, but I got the last 2 dragsters. I know that 'Real Riders' don't exactly roll very well, so I might substitute them for a set of standard wheels and see how they do on the track. I bought the `57 Chevy because I really wanted a plastic chassis `57 for my racing fleet. My Connect Cars Woodie is already a scorcher on the track...we'll see how the ol' Chevy does.

Nice finds. Those Dragsters look like the vintage Rear Engine 1972 models. Sweet!
One of my fastest cars is a blue '57 Chevy with a plastic bottom.

Thanx, JDC442. I had those original rear-engine dragsters as a kid and my eyes lit up as soon as I saw the newer versions staring at me on the pegs. These castings are dated '2009' and appear to be a bit smaller than the originals. But they're all metal and they do roll...even with the rubber tires.

how much does one of the dragsters weight ? if you have had one apart, is there room for more "pounds"... ? thanks

I don't have a scale, but I'd underneath the opening 'cockpit wedge' to add several more grams if needed.

More? yes...more...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

New FTE's, Aston Martin, Datsun and Impala. Liked the Caddy in orange, TH Ducati, Chevelle, mopars and of course the new color Ferrari!

Ok, I have to stop going to places that sell Hot Wheels!

Today I went to Family Dollar and found the 240z Treasure Hunt and 3 FTE's for wheels and the Ferrari 5 pack that was on sale. I've only found 3 treasure hunts, 2 in two days...crazy. maybe they are making more of them.

My grocery store has 10 packs on sale for $5 but I held back and didn't pick up any..

WOW!
Ya' know I've been looking for a Z-car, huh?
And I've got this real ugly TH to trade!

I'm pretty sure that if I saw that TH Ducatti on the shelf, i'd leave it their for someone else to take. haha. I'm really not into bikes at all.

trade ya for a tucker?

it's also being issued as a Holiday Car, but those are sometimes hard to find as well.

lemme know and it's yours.

Bryan, the Tucker is yours regardless! If you want to part with the 240z I've got a place for it!!! I'll be in the Capital City the first weekend of December, hopefully we can hook up then.

I've been looking for the Holiday cars down here and haven't spotted a single one (except for a few of last years on a Walmart clearance rack).

Woah, a Datsun FTE...nice! That little car is speedy without the added wheel bonus. I need to find me one of those so it gets in the league.

That Datsun should have been put out with the original FTE wheels too!

You got that right!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Weird. I got a Datsun a long time ago and it was so bad that I tore it apart for the fun of it. Actually, the only reason I even got it in the first place was because it was so ugly that I knew I wouldn't have any regrets after stealing the wheels. I didn't really give it much of a chance, only 3 or 4 races down the track, but yeah... it was pretty bad... even the car which inherited its wheels is terrible. haha.

You got that right!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Now that is one SWEET Hot Wheel!!! A Bad-Ass 510.

no, i was not sleeping outside the mall waiting for black friday... but i did order a pair of "haulin' gas" - HERSHEY'S card...
$ 4.00 ea.... ouch ! but they do have large wheel wells, fair wheel base, and with a belly big enough to be one of....
JOBE'S .... "PIGGY BANKS"

Those are pretty cool.
Can't wait to see it Smitty-ized!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Hope it's not a "Dud"!!!

ditto on the dud delema...
can't do much as far as body mods... that's a serious beast to chop... hhmmm.... rat bomb's headers a mid ship ?, blower scoop through one of the roof "turrets", shadow jet's wheels ? , hey, JOBE... how much "cash" can i put in 'er ? .... looks like she could buy lunch... one just landed... 75.3 grams, stock...

Out and about again today looking for FTE parts cars and stuff to build. Here's what I found today:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
A Big Lots Store had a few small displays scattered throughout the toy department. Most appeared to have been gone through except one, that's where we found the TH Chevy Pick-ups!

Hah, nice.

I see lots of wheel less Ferrari's in the near future

no wheels...did ferrari have a recall ? or are they in the econo-pile...

wow, i just got my "Haulin' Gas"...the card size disguises the car's size... it won't fit in but 2 spots in your 48 car case...rear wheels appear to be 1/2" dia... she can haul enough quarters for her to dutch treat...and leave a tip ?

The way you work at 'em you'll probably have this one completely altered before supper!

not tonight, still can't hold much with the left hand... doctors tommorow AM... rather that than the dentists ! former hockey player...

Finally picked up a Ferrari FF the other day! I've been looking for one at Kmart for the past month, but when I went to Target, they had one sitting right out in the open just waiting for me. I also found a really awesome looking Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador, Gran Torino Sport and Studebaker Champ!

The best part about this pick-up though? All 5 of them are fast. The Gran Torino being the slowest of the bunch and the Studebaker being the quickest, but none of them are pushovers by any means!

i bought a bunch of 1st edition way 2 fast... as i was to cut into 1, i noticed that the base was painted silver not chromed as most, the card is a little different... i am not a collector, just a racer... should i cut 'er up ?

Smitty,

According to NCHWA.com price guide, the silver-painted bases are considered HTF than the unpainted bases. Should you "cut `er up"?....sure...why not? It's not like you're tryin' to paint a moustache on the GspeedR

I want to find that Hot Ones Shadow Jet and see how it measures up against the older ones.

I want to find that Hot Ones Shadow Jet and see how it measures up against the older ones.

I just rolled my 'Hot Ones' Shadow Jet for the 1st time last night. Sadly, it does not roll faster than my older 'Technobits' version. The front axle on my "Made in Thailand" car is a bit loose and the car doesn't roll as smoothly or as quietly as the earlier "Malaysia" car. Then again, maybe I just picked a poor example.

I tried the new Hot Ones Super Van and it is crap. Im afraid to spend the $2.45+ for another one that may also be a dud.

I tried the new Hot Ones Super Van and it is crap. Im afraid to spend the $2.45+ for another one that may also be a dud.

I ran a Hot Ones Super Van in an Austin Diecast Drags race last October (25 ft. track). While it wasn't as fast as my Ferrari 548, it held its own and lasted a few rounds among some pretty good competition that night. I musta' gotta' good one!

Most of the new Hot Ones I've bought have loose axles and aren't impressive racers.

LET'S SEE, THE SPEED MACHINES, HOT ONES, F T E 2'S, AND RED WHEELS... ALL CALLED FAST, BUT...

I guess the bottom line is...Despite Mattel's good intentions, muscle cars are pretty weak.

Now, please excuse me while I go check my mailbox.

GspeedR

No photo but I was at my local grocery store (HEB) and they have mainlines on sale for 67 cents.
Unfortunately the selection was not so good but I couldn't pass up the deal and picked up a few anyway!

Bifocal FTE, Astro Funk, Ford GT, VW BRasilia in green, 69 camaro.

wild crowd at wallyville, cards with the card HOOKS torn off...cars scattered all up and down the isle... but only 1 boulivard car...A-OK, and 1 hot ones...shadow jet... both cars i wanted... going to be a merry christmas

BEen sick the last few days, but finally got out of the house yesterday to do some Christmas shopping.
Found Hot Wheels at Academy (sporting goods store) of all places and picked up 2 more A-Team vans and a few old style FTE cars.

JUST RECIEVED A K-MART MAIL IN "BLOWN DELIVERY" TODAY, WEIGHS A TON...IT'S PRETTY NICE... I DON'T THINK I COULD DO MORE THAN CHANGE TO RACING WHEELS....... IYUH, WELL I ORDERED [2] JUST IN CASE...

Also found the Ferrari FF in silver and the Holiday Draggin' Wagon (selling/trading it off)
I picked up some others right before Christmas but forgot what I got! THey are packed away for a day or so.

Can't find any of the new IROC's yet, looks like a great casting

LOTS of A-Team vans out there now, picked up a few to customize

NO pics...again...but

You know what they say . . . without pics it didn't happen!

I hope you're enjoying your time off.

Well I didn't get any HW's for Christmas, except the ones I bought myself!

Here is the lot I picked up over the last week or so.

New Ferrari 5 pack has an all metal 308 with old school blackwalls and all metal 512m in a slick dark blue.
also has the fxx which I didn't have.
Found the Ferrari FF in silver, I have seen next to none of this issue Ferrari.
Couple of A team vans to customize
Found another 240z TH yesterday at the grocery store!
and of course some 458's for the FTE wheels.

wow, that is a crappy pic!

Well I didn't get any HW's for Christmas!

LIKE JOBE I ENJOYED GIVING AWAY SOME HOT WHEELS AT XMAS, AND I GOT A COUPLE FROM MY NIECE, A SPIFF, RED, AND FLAMED '56 FORD PANEL, AND A REPORTEDLY QUICK "FIRE-EATER"...PERHAPS A FUTURE LID LOWERING ? YOU KNOW, FOR BASEMENT FIRES...

I just scored a 'Tomart's HW Price Guide' @ Barnes & Noble....half price on the 'scratch-n-dent' table.

I just scored a 'Tomart's HW Price Guide' @ Barnes & Noble....half price on the 'scratch-n-dent' table.

Can't put the value of mine in a book!
Meeting all of y'all because of a little toy car . . . PRICELESS!!!

thanks carl,
shure is nice to have truely "friendly" competition... i've seen a lot less at the _ _ / _ _ mart['s] $1.07 hot wheels displays...
got a boulivard A-OK and FANGULA on the pegs for $3. ?? ea.,...
flea mkt. ; '34 packard [7 window], '64 lincoln cop car $1.00 ea... [3] '57 chebbies for $.25 ea. want the engines, but i turn them 180 degrees... now injected 289's - front distributer...sorry carl...

Can't put the value of mine in a book!
Meeting all of y'all because of a little toy car . . . PRICELESS!!!

Completely understood Carl....I really use the book to help familiarize myself with the castings & variations. After all, only the fastest cars are the most "valuable".

I wouldn't mind finding a copy myself for the very same reason. Hopefully the collector types aren't paying attention to us.

I just scored a 'Tomart's HW Price Guide' @ Barnes & Noble....half price on the 'scratch-n-dent' table.

Sweet! Tomart's my Hot Wheel bible!

got my tomart's about three weeks AFTER i cut up a [moc] v.w. bus...it's also great for finding out just what castings are out there...and, yea, i'ld probably do it again... race 'em...

I used to have the Tomarts book back in the 90's, can't seem to find it anywhere now. The latest edition must be twice the size. Mattel has really been cranking them out the last 10 years or so.

I made a major score at the local flea market yesterday...picked up a complete 2006 Sizzlers Giant O race set, brand new, sealed in a beat up box for $30! I now have 24ft of strait Fat Track sections so 'open track' racing just became much more interesting.

local guy mario and his bunch drag race sizzlers... gee, G, how about a 24' mail -in sizzlers drags in PA., i can bum a sizzler from my niece !... but, in the long term, "i'll" continue to abuse gravity

local guy mario and his bunch drag race sizzlers... gee, G, how about a 24' mail -in sizzlers drags in PA., i can bum a sizzler from my niece !... but, in the long term, "i'll" continue to abuse gravity

Cool idea..but I'm also a 'gravity racer' at heart, so the Sizzlers cars & Juice Machines are to become Ebay items. I only use the Fat Track in my gravity coarses.

JUST GOT LAWYERS DOZEN SWEET 16 II's FOR WHEELS, 3 USED PADDIES AND A COUPLE '34 PACKARDS FOR THE BODIES... COUPLE OF '57 CHEBBIES FOR THE ENGINES,[ REVERSED 180 DEGREES ] INJECTED 289's ]...LET'S RACE !

I need to get some fat track, looks like fun!

Stopped by the local flea market after work yesterday with the wife and found these...
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

as well as these Treasure Hunts
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Nice ones Jim! Dig those 57 fury's.

Ditto on the '57 Furys! And you've got a couple of fast ones there to (Escalade & Turbolence).

If you want to trade of those Furys for another Treasure Hunt, I'm your man!

If you want to trade of those Furys for another Treasure Hunt, I'm your man!

Sounds interesting Carl. Let's make a trade

PM sent.

I want in! I'd love one of those fury's...just know it's going to come out of the package!

I have a couple of newer TH's (still in package) and about 300 other cars to trade ya!

Okay, one went to my nephew, one's going to Carl, I'm keepin' one, so that means the last must being going to Austin

Nice bunch of cars!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I haven't posted here in awhile, so here are the newest additions to the WorpeX.net Racing Family! Got all these over the last few months, just haven't posted anything on them. The top Prospects here are the FTE2 Impala, Toyota Truck (High Speed Wheels), Ferrari FF, Ford GT LM, Studebaker Champ and Torque Twister (High Speed Wheels).

I was looking for a new Screamin' Hauler for awhile and I finally found one to replace the one I have which has a bent wheel (still runs good, but not at full potential at all). Sadly, this new one isn't faster then it, haha. They're very close in speeds, but the old one edges it out by a hair. The crazy bat car here is pretty good as is the Lambo and F-Racer. The rest are not that good. Bedlam, Lotus Concept and the Retroactive are mediocre. The Dodge Charger, Straight Pipes, Gran Torino and Scorcher are pretty bad. Lastly, the Yur So Fast is so terrible that it has since been put into the trash can after this picture. haha.

So there you have it! I ran a tournament for all these new cars plus a pseudo-new Arachnorod (which I just randomly found laying around) and the Mustang Fastback I had from before. Didn't run the FTE in the tournament since I already knew it would win (the thing is ridiculous). If anyone is interested, I would gladly post the results of it.

Are you kidding? That's why we're here!

Are you kidding? That's why we're here!

Fair enough! I posted it in the other forum though. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=661

Went to Wallyworld tonight...the pegs were totally full, obviously a fresh post-holiday restock. I picked up 5 'HSW' cars...Hyperliner, `84 Pontiac, Lotus Concept, Torque Twister, and a Prototype H-24. I left the flatbeds & motorcycles behind. I also bought a Retroactive and an Open Road-ster from the `12 Track Stars. I was kind of pressed for time while I was there so I didn't look through all the pegs...a potential 'TH find' moment lost, oh well.

GspeedR

So far not impressed with the Team cars. The one I tried was a total dud. Now I see they have other color wheels, red, white, green and blue

the pegs...a potential 'TH find' moment lost, oh well.

GspeedR

I love finding a fully stocked display. Looking through ALL the pegs can be a lot of work, and don't you love it when you're flipping through to the back of the row and one comes off making a loud clammer as it works its way toward the sales floor - "now do I pick that one up right away, or just go right on searching knowing it's not the last to fall?"
And speaking of potential treasure hunt finds, I really want to find one of the 2012 THs. They're no longer marked by the green stripe and therefore harder to spot.
Check out this link for info on finding the new treasure hunts...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHERII9A2xQ

Jim

There are still green stripe TH's, the Super TH's are the hidden ones, also some hidden normal ones I think as well.

Funny, I actually have the '69 Chevelle SS. Didn't realize it was a 2012. Good to know there are still some green stripes for this year, but I really want to find a hidden treasure hunt. Pretty sneaky stuff, I like it.

SUNDAY FLEE MARKET, $ .50 ON THE CARD TOTE FULL.... FOUND A '34 COUPE, A GREASED LIGHTNING, A '40 PICK UP,
A SHOE BOX, [2] MINI S, [2] '66 BATMOBILES, [4] RIGOR MOTORS

RIGOR MOTORS

Wish we had that kinda' stuff down here.
Maybe I just don't know where to go!

The "Redline" Derby might not have any Redlines.... but WorpeX.net does!!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Randomly decided to go to the Dollar Tree because it seems that most people have better luck finding cars at the weird stores that you wouldn't think to find rare cars at. To my surprise, I found the Walmart exclusive Redlines here! Months after they were released too! I'm quite happy as I was looking for these at the time too with no luck.

Trouble is, they're rubbish on the track. All of them. The only one with any hope for a future is the Mini, and even then, its a miserable one filled with more losses then wins. Still, they look good and thats all I wanted these for!

I like that redline look

had a classic paddy wagon with those wheels, went good...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
One of about a dozen original Redlines I'm lucky to own

NICE PIC, NOTICE THE AXLE END DOES NOT SHOW... EARLY REDLINES ONLY '69 TO '70 ISH...[4] SEPARATE AXLES, ALIGNABLE... BALL ON BALL INNER WHEEL... VERY QUICK !

There are a few redlines in my collection...but I don't think any of them are racing, probably because they'll slow! Although I have to admit the redline collectibility is lost on me...but then again, I don't do much "collecting" in the true sense of the word anyway.

WEEKENDS ONLY INDOOR FLEE MARKET ; [MOC] $.50 HOT WHEELS TOTE... OLDER RELEASES...FOUND A STOCKAR, '69 FIREBIRD, '69 GTO, '01 MINI COOPER, LA'TROCA, ..... ALL ARE F.T.E.WHEELS, MINI HAS METAL BASE.... ALSO SECOND WIND, '34 ROADSTER, WAY 2 FAST, AND [2] BONE SHAKERS

Nice finds, if you want to sell/trade any of the FTE's let me know...I'm missing a few of those.

I think the bug has bitten my 11 year old son, he's now collecting Laborghini's. We went for a quick HW hunt today and found a few new cars and some Lambo's for him. I picked up the 73 firebird...still on the hunt for the 85 IROC.

shure thing BRYAN, i like 1st edition way 2 fast, sweet 16 II, rigor motor.... chrome 5 spokes... no colored wheels please... P.M. me if you want all the FTE's he has... $ .50 ea.... NOT MY BAG...

My scores found some nice FTE & FTE2 and some basic ones Im liking the tr6 for a featherweight.

. . . I can tell u I have big plans for that VW bug.

Care to share?

Im liking the tr6 for a featherweight.

Yeah, I thought about that too.

That Chevy truck, does it have a plastic body? I wonder how that one would do. Maybe good.

That Chevy truck, does it have a plastic body? I wonder how that one would do. Maybe good.

It does have a plastic body. I've got one and it's in my "under 30 gram case"! Damn thing only weighs 28.4 grams.

The VW I can't disclose lol and the Chevy is gonna get some fte wheels and axles so will see about it going lightweight. Just waiting to get this moving done to start in mods and track.

Found a couple of the new releases that I like and some hot rods I didn't have:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
There were lots of new Mopars out there too!

Ahhhhh...finally! I've been turning up nothing in my HW searches since Christmas...I think I was going through withdrawls!

Out of town visiting projects today and hit a Target and Walmart on my way back to work...Got some goodies!

FInally got the IROC Z, it's a sweet casting...narrower than I thought it would be. Also got the new RX-7, 81 Camaro, 68 cuda, 68 dart, 65 GTO, Mooneyes 8 crate, sweet Hot Ones Second Wind, 69 coronet, something called the Growler...under 35g...way under! plus some new FTE cars, another A Team Van, cool MB 4 Runner, Lamorghini's for my son Cooper....
I did find the 73 firebird this weekend and already did a wheelswap...

Nice. Those are also pretty much the same ones I picked up recently. Nice photos too.

ditto on the pix... like the moon eyes '57 wagon [wish they'ld fill the roof]

I have not found the Green Firebird. Did it come with those wheels? The earliest ones had those same wheels as the IROC. A lot of people didn't like them. It looks good with those wheels. We have not got any new "The Hot Ones" around here in ages. Well, before Christmas and there are the same bunch sitting at Wal Mart forever. I'm waiting for the clearance sale.

I did a wheel swap on the firebird, like you said it came with the 5 spoke IROC style wheels...suprisingly it's a pretty quick car on my 25' track

I was at Target and Kroger grocery store recently and they haven't seemed to switch their inventory since before Thanksgiving! I'm striking out for 2012 cars so far. I love that Speed Racer looking car and that NGK car looks pretty sweet too.

Brian,

I'm picking up some extras to send your way so there is some new meat for the new season...and so I have matching cars for the 'away' races!

I love that Speed Racer looking car

brian, i picked up a couple white ones, the pair [moc] for $ 1.xx... need 'em, they are your's.

Holy Moly! I just hit the jackpot in old Ferrari's! My local used toy store just got a big buy of Hot Wheels in...just dug through and picked up about 12 Ferrari's! All new mint in the package. Then in the used bin I got some really cool 70's and 80's blackwall cars. Jackpot baby! ALso got a couple of Lamorghini's for my son's birthday including the 25th anniversary Countach.

Jackpot baby!

Stoked!

-What's the mailing address for donating cars to the fantasy league? The local Wal-Mart seems to be keeping up with the latest mainline stuff since at least last Halloween.

Ok gang, here is the new finds of the day...10 Ferrari's in total...a few I had already, but some new ones to me....so much red! Picked up the two Lambos for my son for his 11th birthday. Also found the M Roaster all metal and Chaparrall.
Also picked up a Way2 Fast, couple of sweet 16 II's that will be getting mailed to a certain crazy modifier of the North East.

Where is that used toy store? Next time I'm in Austin I'm gonna' check it out!

the speed racer's wheels seem to have seen some miles, the body did not, plastic ? featherweights

Haha, my thoughts exactly Smitty...yes plastic body

Carl, it's my little secret! It's hit or miss but I always find something in the used bins.

LUCKY finding all those metal/metal Ferraris!
THANKS for posting all the sweet pics. I'm a visual kinda guy. -You know, like the books that have some pictures in them to save me from having to do too much reading!

Found some 2010's on the pegs at Walmart today. Being a rookie to all this they were all new castings to me!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

There were even a couple of 2009's:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

And 7 of the 11 weigh in at less than 35g!
Things that make ya' go hmmmmmm!

Love the last two...sweet.

Walmart is crazy, never know what you're going to find.

sooo fast is my favorite short wheel base chassis, there is a flat black one too carl!

So I've come to the conclusion that unless the car is a first edition, track star, FTE or non-mainline car... its probably going to be poorly made and be crap. Even the track stars are only 50/50, some are good some aren't. For example, the 1st edition 24 Ours had a metal base and while it isn't super fast, it isn't a slow car either. The track star version is all plastic and awful. On the flip side, the new Nerve Hammer track star is blisteringly fast!

I've pretty much stopped buying all other series now cause they aren't worth the time or money. : /

I almost never buy anything but the mainlines, but I picked this thing up the other day.

WORKING FOR BATMAN HAS IT'S PERKS, THAT BEAUTY HAS GOTTA BE ALFRED'S SUNDAY GO TO MEETING CAR !
NOTE THE REAR BUMPER'S SHAPE, CLEARANCED FOR THE BATPOLE !

Really? A white Batmobile? Interesting.

This was the only thing I found of interest at our local Walmart last night.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
This is another casting that I've wanted for quite some time. I used to have one when I was a kid. She's a beauty!

The white car is the Lincoln Futura, it was a crazy prototype car that Ford built and then Barris bought and created the Batmobile out of for the original TV series.

Nice Porsche 917, I had the orange version myself as a kid

Here are some recent FTE purchases I got in the mail yesterday...99 cents each! And a tooned Deora for fun.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Really? A white Batmobile? Interesting.

That's a Lincoln Futura, yet Barris gets the credit for building the Batmobile!

I have a couple of those tuned Deoras, they're kinda cool
What's that FTE at top left? and is that a Hummer FTE? Those wheels are huge!

Top left is the Billy Goat...I think it's going to be a quick one. I have a non-FTE version of it already.

Yeah, Hummer with HUGE fte wheels...but they are inset so we'll see how it handles the track.

That Porsche 917 must be an error or variation because everyone I see hanging on the pegs has the rear window floating around in the bottom of the blister pack.

Nice bunch of cars for 99 cents. That's the right price!

looks like a way 2 smitty in there...

That's a Lincoln Futura, yet Barris gets the credit for building the Batmobile!

No kidding. He made a bunch of minor changes, but he didn't exactly start from scratch.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Picked these up today. The VW is from the Decades series and the 442 is from The Hot Ones. The VW is very heavy and has a metal chassis. The 442 is metal/metal as well. The 442 is lighter than the VW but it turns out that the 442 is faster.

Nice! I want that car!

My local Target had several of those Hot Ones 442s on the pegs, but I picked up a GT Racer & Meyers Manx instead. The Ultra Hot wheels on the GT Racer spin Epay...about 2.00ea w/shipping.

a buddy wanted a dairy delivery, he didn't have the gold father's day edition, i had a few,(use the bases under '40 sedans) well...."dad" has a metal base, weighs in at 80.1 GRAMS ...plastic base one weighs 72.2 GRAMS... there has to be more that 8 GRAMS difference between the bases... so if you put the reg. body on the metal base it should put you in sight of the century mark...

I like the Bimmer, although it can probably be easily mistaken for a Datsun 510 because of its shape...I'll hafta keep an eye out!

you know i'm a pain in the but ford guy... in't that a T-Bird ?

Sorry Smitty, that was a silly mistake Correction made.

Jobe~ that little BMW is cool. My parents had an orange '72 Datsun 510 as well as the '69 Cutlass I learned to drive in when I was 16. The 510 was called the 'poor-man's BMW'. At first glance, I thought your BMW was a 510 as well.

Love the clear wheels on the JL's...

It was actually a female collector I met on Hot Wheel Collectors.com It turned out she actually worked at the college I was attending. Not sure how she did it, but it sure looks cool. The label on the package said "To Dye For"

Very cool! Those clear wheels are pretty spiffy. Good spread of cars and types from Tom's, he really pulled through. I hope he'll consider sponsoring future seasons once I get things up and running.

wild stuff 442, dyed, hmmmmmm... i like the flat black roof...hard to tell but those clear wheels look to be acrylic, and solid, have you CAREFULLY raced one ?

I just opened the cars last night. Will have to wait until I'm able to set up the 25 footer before I can race 'em. That Challenger is crazy all jacked up like it is, and very heavy. Who knows, it just may be surprisingly fast -it's got the lightning bolts!

Working over near Houston today. Got done a little early so I hit Walmarts on the way home. It took two of the three to find all four of these Muscle 2012 cars (still looking for Follmer's red Mustang). These are great looking cars with lots of detail.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Now I gotta' find my drill, the wheels on these things are all wrong!

is that a red mustang w/ #18 on the door ? if so bernies the guy...

My wife picked up a Hot Wheels storage case at a garage sale recently for my son Calvin. So we had a big package-opening for him last night finally opening a lot of the cars we'd bought for him over the last year and a half.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The package that says 'Calvin' on the back that Danielle is holding is a sweet 442 Smitty sent him. It's the only one we didn't take out of the package. He likes to just carry it around. It's definitely one of his favorites he's saving for a later race

Then we threw together a two lane track and had a race-off of all of his cars and these were two of his fastest cars right out of the package.

Plus some FTE's for the wheels

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I'm pretty sure the "collecter dudes" frequent our HEB, although I did find a TH there before Christmas. Pick up all of those FTEs you can find!

i stopped in another HEB plus on the east side last week and it had TONS of HW's...all 2011 and lots of FTE's.
I've got a pretty good stash already but might need to pick up some more

Love the the blue w/ flames on that wagon T-Hunt. Nice find!

wallie had 3 fleetline taxis, and 4 cars with THOSE wheels... i haven't jumped over to the other side yet.... but all but one
[thanks G] of the finalists seem to whare them shoes

On top of them being ugly and the gold part being proud of the side of the wheel...I don't think they spin at all as well as the older style FTE. I've been experimenting a tad...

Why do you think Carl and I are hoarding the older style? And the 2005/2006 ones seem to spin even nicer!

axles...

of the finalists seem to whare them shoes

Smitty, I think you should stay away from THOSE wheels. We should be through 'testing' them in a few years. We'll let you know how they work out!

Why do you think Carl and I are hoarding the older style?

I'm not hoarding, I'm gathering for research!

oh, they were for ..er.. fred, ya fred that's it

Well, the worlds fastest rental van rolls on the FTE 2's. Swamp Rat style!

Anybody have a Krogers near them? I guess that's the only place you can get the St. Patricks Day "Clover Cars". I'm thinking the Viper,GTO and Mustang don't look half bad.

hey,T.L.D. how did tri-power do against the world's fastest rental van ?

I didn't get to race them...or the Shadow Jets.

It's been awhile since I've shown off my new cars! So heres a recap of the last 3 months of additions. I'm not too interested in the stuff in the current cases so there isn't a lot of new mainlines in here, but the real jewels are the ones I found at the local flea market! Some of these cars are RIDICULOUSLY fast. I'm looking forward to doing a new tournament!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Darn it, can't find the IROC Z or RX7 anywhere. Or the 81 Camaro for that matter.

Yeah, I never could find the Green Firebird or the IROC, now new colors are already coming out. RX7 are plentiful round here however.

Darn it, can't find the IROC Z or RX7 anywhere. Or the 81 Camaro for that matter.

Its funny, I found all 3 of them at the same store. haha. I haven't been able to find many of them since. They're pretty rare. This damn ugly Datsun FTE is filling up shelf space like nobody's business around here.

That looks like a good bunch of cars. That Blue Jag in the upper left with the Ultra Hots, mine anyway, is a dud. Otherwise the ones in there, that I've had experience with, are a fast assortment.

This damn ugly Datsun FTE is filling up shelf space like nobody's business around here.

Same here.

Great finds WorpeX. The RX-7s just recently filtered into my area.
Any guys, it's not the 510 that's ugly, it's the wheels they put on it!

Well, I did specify FTE! Although, I really do think that those 510s are hideous... those wheels just make them uglier.

I'm partial to the 510 because I learned to drive stick in a bright orange 1972 510 -loved that car, and therefore love the casting. But the new FTEs don't help.
Great group of cars WorpeX. There's nothing like having a flea market near by where collectors that want to get rid of their 'excess cars' will drop off bin-fulls from time to time for our buying pleasure
I used to have that Shadow Jet from the 'White Ice' series. I bet it smokes on the track. I'd love to find that dark green Trans Am and RX-7 too. That black Gov'ner was pretty fast on my track until my son tossed it into the bathtub. He must have thought it was a color changer -we were both disappointed.

sorry about the car... but most of our local govenors could stand to wash off a little "DIRT"...

I really like the White Ice Series. I have a few cars from it. Yes, this Shadow Jet smokes the track! Its faster then the 'Hot Ones' variant which was previously my best SJ. I'm a little disappointed with the Gov"ner... its not slow by any means, but compared to the other cars in this group it just can't keep up. I think i'm just spoiled with fast cars these last few months! Sorry to hear about your Gov'ner, I can see how your son thought that as it does have the same plastic consistency as the color changer cars!

but most of our local govenors could stand to wash off a little "DIRT"...

Hey, I resemble that remark!

I'm gonna go diggin' through some boxes looking for Shadow Jets. For the most part I'm just a fan of Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, sports cars ect,...but over the years I've had a soft spot for the Shadow Jet and a few other random "fantasy castings" imagine my surprise when I found out the Shadow Jet is some kind of speed monster!

Got this 'Decades' 67 Camaro for my wife recently (a favorite casting or hers) Here it is with an older version from her collection.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

It looks lowered in the decades version.. hmm..

I'm diggin' the 60's card!

the card is indeed Groovy... Daddio !

I like that Decades Camaro. Cool colors and decorations.

At my local Wal-Mart there has been one of those "mystery car" baggies sitting on the shelf under the mainline Hot Wheels since Christmas. I finally picked it up to find the code and see what car was in there. "Surf Crate" oh, I guess I'll take that one. I guess it was good timing too, because I saw on Hot Wheels collectors.com there is a new bunch of mystery cars out now.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

A metal/metal Mystery car -nice find.
One of my collector books shows the Mystery cars from 2006. There are only five of them and they're very nice vehicles. Dairy Delivery, 70 Chevelle, 55 Chevy Panel, VW Drag Bus and an Airy 8 bike. They look like Treasure Hunts. They're way too nice be be regular Mystery cars. I don't think they came in the black blister. Anyone know anything about these cars?

yeh, I once j.b.ed a "'47 fleetline" hood onto her and dropped it on a sooo fast base... took first 2 runs...then spanked hard !

One of my collector books shows the Mystery cars from 2006. There are only five of them... They look like Treasure Hunts.

I think 2005/06 the mystery cars were mail in quarterly cars. Each one came with a voucher and if you got all four you could mail in for a fifth (and the fifth actually was an exclusive Treasure Hunt). Those quarterly mail in cars were very nice back in the day.

Woo Hoo! Walmart had some fresh ones!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I really like this casting:

Nice finds Carl!

Nice Carl, I saw the exact same ones this morning at Wal Mart. There was still a Maverick Treasure Hunt when I was there.

At least one of each (and two of most) are headed your way Sunday.
Bring some good tradin' material!

You left a TH on the peg?
Say it ain't so!

You left a TH on the peg?

No, actually it it was in one of the big bins. I spent like a half hour going through the whole thing. I was disappointed that there was nothing "good" in there since it seemed like I was the first one to go through it. Then when I was putting them back in the bin I found it. There were other Mavericks' but only one with rubber tires, ect.

it. There were other Mavericks' but only one with rubber tires, ect.

LUCKY!!!

I really like this casting:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Cool! I also picked up two of this casting when I last hit Walmart. One to play with and one to display.

That Galaxy %00 is a stand out. Also in that batch is a purple Superbird, purple coronet, aqua challenger, green chevelle...I picked those up as well.

Luckies! Put that super TH on the eBay and make some money to buy more cars!

Thanks Carl, I'll bring some good trade fodder.

All the stores around me still have 2011 on the pegs usually, lame.

Luckies! Put that super TH on the eBay and make some money to buy more cars!

That passed through my mind. I looked on eBay and they're going for $25/30 bucks! Now is the time to sell. The collector in me wants to just put it in a box or something and store it away, something I'm trying not to do anymore. I'm a terrible businessman, but 25/30 more Hot Wheels to cut up, switch the wheels on,paint, race, ect sure does sound like a lot more fun than having a Ford Maverick stored away in a box somewhere.

and the TH's lose their value if you just put them away.

I know if I find a super on the pegs it's going on sale quick like!
Hell even the KITT cars were going for $20!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Nice!

Woah, nice Grabber...and is that KITT?!?! Holy shit, need to grab me a few of those. Knight Rider is in my Netflix queue right now even. Nice.

Yep, that's KITT a ton at my local Wal Mart, there was yesterday anyway. I predict they should be readily available judging by how many were in the dump bin.

That is a good looking Maverick.
If it ain't got green the only way I would find a Super is by pure accident!

I was in Kroger and Target tonight and I think they must have a TON of inventory left from late last year because I've been seeing the same 2011 cars since before Christmas. We never get the good stuff here...either that or it looks like I'll have to brave Walmart to get the good stuff.

One word: davidhasselhoff!!!

Wife found this TNT Bird and picked it up for me at an antique bazaar she went to yesterday.

yeah, it was 12:30 am! I wasn't tired at all and decided to take a little late night journey into the abyss that is Wal-Mart.

For some reason they had moved the end cap they usually have in the toy section over by the Easter stuff...joy!
Must have just been loaded as there were lots of new cars, but no TH's or supers...you could tell it had been picked over already.

Got the new KITT car, very cool custom interior. Lil Red Express, 68 chevy truck, Super Snake FTE, Aston Martin FTE, BMW race car, Mystery Astro Funk in pink, Mystery Lambo Estoque in white, Lambo Aventador silver, Galaxie, new Firebird color.
And I got several of each for customizing of course! There were lots of KITT cars and Lil Red's

Went to a different walmart today down where my girlfriend lives and found some different things! Didn't pick up any mainlines because I was more interested in the "Hot Ones" that they had! I picked up a black el ray special (didn't like the green one, but this one is slick!) a porsche 917 and I was impressed to see that they put Ultra Hots on the GT Racer!! Snagged that one instantly! I also found an FTE1 Italia for modding which was still left around in a bin. I'll be using that one for a wheel swap soon enough!

Edit: Holy hell, that GT Racer is FAST too!

This is what I found at the Walmart on the way to Seattle.
Lots of muscle...

WorpeX: I also found that GT Racer with Ultra Hot wheels. Good to know it's fast. It's the only one I found with those wheels.

i'm working on an under 35 Gram hot heap i call "hopped heap", 6 months ago it came with no glass, interior, engine or rear suspesion, i got it for under $5.00 shipped... but i want to do one a little different...
wow ! what a difference 6 months make... no more buy it now... junkers going for $15 to $20... poor economy ? ...
any hints on finding just a body casting ? ... i'm looking for a recent find to share...

i'm working on an under 35 Gram hot heap . . .

Can't wait to see what it's gonna' look like.

CARL, i'll email you some poor pix to post if you wish... wanna build one with a bumper.... longevity

Went to check out Wally World today. Suprised to see that the 2010s are making it to the pegs still. The open cars are some of the 2012 Mystery Cars. Oh, and I found some green too!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Is that an Astro Punk with full front wheels? The one I have has the half-skinny wheels. Gonna have to pay more attention next time.

You know Brian, I hadn't noticed that, but yeah they are full small wheels.

It's a new Mystery Car, not a mainline.

Found these FTE's and Ferraris at the Goodwill of all places

That IS a nice haul JDC!
Quite a few 2005 & 2006 FTEs in that bunch.

Great finds JDC!

Holy nuts, good score for the Goodwill! Man, our thrift stores here must just really suck. Most I've ever found was a raggid old Matchbox carrying case. But if you're looking for a VHS copy of The Running Man, let me know, my local thrift can hook you up.

Wow, a Mini FTE and a couple Testarossas! Jackpot, man.

indoor flee market, $2 way 2 fast [moc]... $1.39 used t totaller [red]

I've given up on looking for HWs at my Goodwills, never ever find any there. Just figured that they put them up online for their e-bay style auctions since you can always find them there.

Stopped at Wal-Mart last night and they now have their HWs at 88 cents. Walgreens has a coupon I believe this week for 79 cents. If you need to stock up on some newer models--good prices!

Nice scores Jim! If you want to sell/trade some of those FTE cars let me know...one of two things I collect now...all the FTE cars and Ferrari's! What can I say, I like to go fast!

must be a new boulivard series release...got a scalloped, yellow, metal based, '32 3 window with moon disced R.Rs for $2.47

Dying to show you guys my recent finds thanks to GspeedR and Redlinederby! Check 'em out!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

For the record, only one of those codes were used since the site didn't let me get the achievement twice! I won't tell you which one though! Isn't that demon a beauty? Heres a close up!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Excellent! Love the Aqua.

Nice!

Good looking cars. What's the deal with those codes? Did I miss something?

what memory i have left tells me that demon's 1/1 show car from the '60's was called lil' coffin... a black one [5 spokes] won it all at our race in Fryburg, ME. '09...

@JDC - I sent some cars to PA to hand out, each of them with a reward code on it for some extra points. Just a little bonus for people that made the trip and hopefully some got in the hands of new players too.

Just a little bonus for people that made the trip and hopefully some got in the hands of new players too.

They did because I handed out the others myself...I gave WorpeX the left-overs at the end of the day.

deora, a few morris wagons, the Queen's fords with funny wheels, cropped out the cowabunga deora.

FTEs Smitty?!!
Those must be Fast Freds

no, they are for FAST RED...ok, grey.

Early FTE's! Very nice Smitty. I have quite a few from the '04 Roll Patrol series, but never saw that Deora -sweet lookin' Hot Wheel.

Nice cars! I love that Deora!

Passing by a flea market in the parking lot of a local grocery store I slowed down. As I passed by, at the last second I saw a tupperware bin with a bunch of Hot Wheels. Pulled over to check 'em out. Asked the lady how much they were. 25 cents each. I went though the bin for a while, ans as I was doing that, the lady told me a couple different times, "We have bigger ones" and kept trying to show me bigger toy cars. As if bigger was better or something. Ha! I picked out 16, she said we'll round it down to $3.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

More than half of them have metal chassis and there was a pre made ready to go Gasser in there.

Plus a couple funny cars which was funny because I had just come from Wal-Mart where I picked up...you guessed it, a couple funny cars.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I love the flea market!
Nice cars, especially the Testarossa, 80s Corvette, black w/ flames 57 Chevy (have not seen that one before), and I think I spy a 67 Camaro in silver. Very nice score Jim!

That Testarossa must have been a special one to whoever owned it before. It's like new. In the bin there were a lot of rough ones that had been played with hard. Not a problem though, the '56 Flashsider has already had it's wheels removed. That black '57 says "Airwalk" on it like the shoes...I've only seen it in photos once in a while. Don't know what the deal is with that one. Yep that's a Camaro back there.

and you got the brand new Batman vehicle...sweet!

Nice finds.

looks like a '33-'36 willys 5 window coupe... GASSER to be...

Nice finds Jim . . . I need to get out more! Although a buddy of mine told me there was a bucket of Hot Wheels at a garage sale a while back. I got there 15min after he sent me the text and someone had just bought the whole lot! B@$t@rd!

I made a nice little score @ "Five Below" last night. They normally don't carry mainlines there, but they had a small dump bin of `12 mainlines set up near the checkout...here's what I brought home:

BMW M3 GT2
`12 Camaro ZL-1
`71 Plymouth Road Runner
AMC Greased Gremlin
2010 Chevy Impala FTE
`68 Chevy Nova

But I also found ugly car will give any Escalade FTE a run for its money.

Since then I've added FTE's to the all-metal one and gave it a HalfFast paint job

Nice Carl...how well does the "full metal Escalade" roll?

On another note, I saw some other racers racing these two castings @ the Collector's G2G last weekend. I was impressed by their speed, so I decided to dig `em out from my collection and crack `em open.

The "Sinistra"
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Both are 2003 First Editions. The Zotic has a plastic chassis...the Sinistra is black painted metal, although it looks like plastic @ 1st glance. Both of them have shown 'above average' speed on my open coarse.

Nice cars! I was also very impressed by the Zotic's at the featherweight challenge, although I don't feel that mine is all that impressive in comparison. Glad to hear that yours is pretty good.

"

What do those things weigh?

The Zotic is 34g...the Sinistra is 36.8g.

Some really nice finds JDC.

Yeah, those are all cool cars.

Nice JDC. I've never seen the 'Vintage Series' Splittin' Image in silver either. I have one in metallic brown(25th Ann.) that's pretty fast. I also have them(unopened) in Yellow and Pink.

this one's an FTE

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Well, after checking in at the local Walk Mart all through March and right up to Easter Sunday. No Wal Mart Easter Eggsclusive cars ever to show up. Now about 2 weeks after Easter they do show up. I got this one and another and Sadie picked one up as well. The next day they were almost all gone.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Nice Vette

I wonder how that Crate8 with the FTE's does. The Mooneyes version I have is possible the slowest car in my collection that isn't broke.

Did you you get that Vette Treasure Hunt at the fairgrounds too?

Actually found the vette in the grocery store I manage.
ALSO, just got back from an unbelievable Hot Wheel adventure. I got to shop at an estate sale where there where about 50,000 Hot Wheels in this guy's collection. I scored a bunch of Treasure Hunts and a ton of FTE cars. I'm working on photographing the lot. Stay tuned!

Holy Cow!

Picked up some new cars last week finally...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Black IROC, GT Racer, Chevy SS, Fairlane, Ferrari California and the new Batman 5 pack.
I bought the 5 pack for the Joker Bone Shaker, has the Joker face on the front and the new Batmobile.
I raced the Ford Fusion police car just to have something to race against...and it's a rocket!

Its only 31.1g and it's been beating many of my fastest cars!

Maybe I should have kept that info to myself!

Oh yeah, my GT racer is a total dud...totally.

Nice score, Jobe....and thanx for the "secret tip"(lol) on the Fusion cop car.

Oh yeah, my GT racer is a total dud...totally.

Are the wheels rubbing against the body? Mine didn't really 'wake up' until I applied some graphite...now, it will literally plow through almost any car that gets in front of it on the open coarse.

Been awhile since i've had any recent additions! Thanks to GspeedR, I have acquired two awesome old school cars: The Paddy Wagon and Beatnik Bandit. So, in return I found this awesome Bugatti FTE which I plan to send his way!

I finally found a car i've been looking since I started collecting: Snake! hmmm Plus, I've always thought that the Baja Bug in the Fantasy league was awesome looking but the ones i've seen in stores were hideous. Luckily, I scored the fantasy League variant. Also found an AWESOME looking Way 2 Fast to add to my already large Way 2 Fast collection! It's quick too, but its about 1 1/2 car lengths slower then my first edition... which is actually a good thing because that W2F is more closely related to FTE's in speed then the normal cars! Ill be replacing the bent wheel'd W2F with this one from now on since its a good deal faster! The others are just cool cars I found and picked up - Acura HSC and Nitro Doorslammer.

Man, those are all so nice. I dig that multi color Acura and the orange Beatnik Bandit...and the snake and the Buggati FTE....

Thanks guys!

There is a shop in a flea market near me which has a bunch of the vintage series cars. If anyone wants me to pick them up one, let me know and i'll be glad to do it. They have another snake left on the shelf for $8 but its the flat yellow version, not the metalflake one like I have. If my memory serves me correctly, they also have a bunch of Nomads and I believe the monster mutt and Deora for $5... I'm sure you can find them cheaper online somewhere though.

Those are some sweet cars WorpeX. Are these the Vintage series from the early 90's. Great finds! Yes, I'm glad you're sending GspeedR that Bugatti, cause he totally loves it. A cool runner up prize for nearly winning the Fantasy League

@ Jobe: interesting that police car with the black wheels is so fast. Must be something to those all-black wheels because I believe the Fantasy winner had similar wheels.

Yup! Those are the ones from the early 90s!

Is that Beatnick Bandit a "Vintage Series" or "25th Anniversary"? I don't remember any of the 25th cars being orange. It's looks cool!

I checked the local "Swap & Shop" message board...and found this sweet deal. I got a total of 36 cars for 57 cents a car! Plus I got two 1960's Batman cars in the deal...I'm one happy camper.

I like the Fandango... the rest I couldn't care about either!

Ha! The only good thing I could think to say about those is something like, "That Fandango is fast"...Worpex beat me to it.

Is that one where it crashes and gets damaged? I think I have a silver version of that.

looks like it has too many seams not to...

I think the cockpit spins over to the damaged side.

I think the cockpit spins over to the damaged side.

Yep dats the one! I found it at a consignment shop, it looked pretty cool, and it is HEAVY. I figured it might be a good down hill racer, with all that weight. Haven't tried it out yet on the track, but maybe in a few days I'll set up the 25 ft track and give it a run.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I freaking LOVED those crack-up cars. I had several of them and they suffered big time in my grubby little hands. They should release a new line of those, it was a clever idea that worked great. And they're much more fun than cars that change color with water (and less messy too).

Went to HEB this morning. They had lots of new old stuff (NOS?) on the pegs.
Among the others I picked up 9 Astro Funks and 4 Fangulas and 1 Surf crate, to replinish parts for more gassers!

I just bought a loose speedy after 31yrs.

checked it out... cool ride... didn't see a gold one.... fast huh... let us know

just won a me-pay auction for a dual race track...drag race / dual jumps, i wanted the finishline as a spare, they are flimsy...one section appears to have a little fan that blows a powder out of a vent between the starting lanes... like tire smoke... also has two launchers that might work their way into the track set up as power for the return lane... track sections are multi color striped, parts are red and white... future fun !

What is that above the Z4?

That Hurst Olds looks pretty cool. Didn't know anything about that one.

What is that above the Z4?

Lambo variation.

That Hurst Olds looks pretty cool. Didn't know anything about that one.

It is a schweet little car! Gold wheels and goldish interior. And with a little massaging and some FTEs it'll weigh in at less than 35 grams!

I saw that Hurst 442 on Facebook actually. Mike Zarnock posted the pic a couple weeks ago. I have to have it!

just got home from running the featherweight challenge cars,,,results to carl...

i didn't place at the races but i think this makes me the winner...

You are always the winner when the Easter bunny leaves race track at your house.

that bunny is a silly rabbit ! but i ain't whining...

So I went to K-mart yesterday and didn't find anything good. Today I had to go back because one of my tires is deflating and I wanted to get a Tire Gauge so I can pump some air into it... Well wouldn't you know it, I found a SUPER TREASURE HUNT Maverick Grabber! I picked it up immediately. I've never found a TH before, let alone a Super one... what do I do with it? I'm too scared to open it...

Also picked up a normal one for kicks and a K.I.T.T that was on the shelf today and not yesterday. Pretty nice find! Perhaps some pictures tonight...

A Super Treasure Hunt found on the pegs is a 'Super' find! Pictures would be nice.

Wow, I didn't know there was a "Super" variety of TH. Is it solid gold?

Wow, I didn't know there was a "Super" variety of TH. Is it solid gold?

Super Treasure Hunts are hidden within the mainline as an upgraded version of the original car with spectraflame paint and rubber tires. It's a cool idea and it helps keep down employees stealing the rare cars before they even go onto the shelf. Unless you know what you're looking for, the Supers are easy to pass over.

Anyway, here are the 3 cars I was talking about! K.I.T.T is in the back with the mainline Maverick Grabber on the front left and the Super TH Grabber front right:

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

And I took a picture of my only other Treasure Hunt with the new one:

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Lastly, it may come as no surprise that the TH is useless on the track. haha. However, the mainline version is SHOCKINGLY fast. I didn't expect that car to be quick at all!

The 'Frontrunnin' Fairmont' is !!

Awesome! I love that Fairmont.

WorpeX: That Grabber is sweet.
GspeedR: Does your Fairmont have a metal base? I'm looking at one on eBay right now, but it doesn't show the base.

The ol' school Fairmont is all metal...50.2g

We need pictures of this Fairmount! It sounds awesome!

Is it a bad thing that I want to mod this Grabber TH and put some real wheels on it? These real riders are worthless. It looks so cool though!

Make that thing roll!

Well, since you already took it out of the package...

BERNIE came through with a box of '05 / '06 stuff, some very ugly...but most all with FTE's...
speed bumps, dodge vipers, what 4 2s, mitsubishi eclipses, ferrari 512s, '69 corvettes, chevy stockers...
sorry no-pix....allthough i will have a bunch of "parts" left over ... any above body / base wants ?
while i'm at it, any Monty Python... er... Carlo fans that might want a sandboxed yellow #38 rsw?
got it for a dime... not a collector and i'm a ford guy

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Does it look like this one? If so, I'll take it

it looked like "that" when it was a pup... now the decrepit old sandbox beaten chebby is all your's... future GASSER ?

Make that thing roll!

I wish I had more will power to do it! I put it on the scale today to weight it and its a lightweight... how awesome would it be to send a Super Treasure Hunt into the Lightweight challenge?

I think there was one (regular Treasure Hunt) in the first series...

I was gonna do up the Willys T-Hunt for the Gassers race, but didn't get to it in time.

I stopped @ a local Wally on the way home from work today with a $4.00 HW budget. The pegs were about half full, but I saw many new2me FEs that I've wanted. There was also a good assortment of 'Decades' cars(The `92 Mustang & VW Fastback are NICE!!). The pegs that normally hold the 'Hot Ones' were sparse...but roll so they're keepers!! That's $4 well invested.

The green one is a '73 Ford Falcon. XB I think. It's the Australian car. The one from the Road Warrior.

I really haven't shared things on here, so I decided to jump in. These will all eventually be opened. We just do a few at a time. These were from Garage Sales and a couple from a flea market. All $1.00 or less.

2010 Ford Mustang FTEs that I hoard. The pink interior ones really perform well on our league track as they have multiple wins.

I get that 2010 Mustang FTE confused with the 2007 Shelby FTE that is 2/11 in the Fantasy league, so I stayed away from buying more than one. Good to know it is fast though.
Thanks for sharing the cool pics Iowa!

That is a good bunch of cars for sure. I think that Mustang is fast even without the FTE's.

Alright! Great find! You were trying to convince me to put some fast wheels on my Super TH... perhaps you'll do it to yours now?

Thanks for letting me know before I cracked it open

Yeah, somewhere way back in this thread I found a Maverick Super Treasure Hunt. There was discussion about what to do with it. I ended up putting it on eBay no reserve and free shipping, 'cuz I didn't want to get greedy and I have some negative feelings about the whole re-sale/hoarder side of Hot Wheels collecting...long story short it sold for $32 bucks. I immediately spent the 32 dollars on buying a bunch of Shadow Jets off Ebay. That's what most people do right? Trade in Super Treasure Hunts for Shadow Jets.

Holy Cow! I just check eBay and one of those bugs have a $100.00 bid! Previously sold ones are anywhere from $32 to $70.

Yup, people are silly about those TH's. If I ever find a super, it's going right on ebay like you did...so I can buy more HW's!

honest, i wouldn't know where to look to see if a car is a T.H.....
just cut the hood off a maverick grabber and threw in way 2 fast's rear engine and a fuel cell, some gasser wheels to come...
.. was worth $ ? . ?? .... now worth $0.00 ...gee, hope it's fast !

What year is that Maverick?

What year is that Maverick?

First year was 1970 and the last was 1977.

A friend of mine in high school had one of those Grabber Mavericks. We used to make fun of him relentlessly. I had a Chevelle, another friend had a Mustang and the third friend had the Maverick painted Candy Apple Red. Those Mavericks just seemed to come from a different, less cool era along with Pintos, Vegas ect...

Great finds this weekend for me! I've finished up my collection of cars to be sent as donations to the redlinederby and in the process found some great stuff for my own collection! A Chrysler 300C Bling, B Engineering Edonis, Ferrari 430 Challenge, Lancer Evolution FTE and a Reverb! Pretty nice finds!

Where did you get them?

Background story on a non HW car that is really fast.

A guy showed up at our racing league and had a Tony Stewart NASCAR car that just smoked all cars in our Feather Weight division. It beat some of my better cars. I started looking at the car and realized it was a car that you can buy at Wal-Mart. But they are about $5.00 each because of that NASCAR name on them. More than I would normally spend for a race car.

The entire family are NASCAR fans and for mothers day, the boys bought mom the same model but a Kasey Kahne car and she was able to attend the May league races. She had never raced before, but opened up the Kasey Kahne car and entered it in the Rookies class and again, it blew all of the other cars away.

What I noticed is that it is really wide and long. And of course, a great roller.

Up next, we got my youngest son the Kyle Busch version (his fav driver). We will see if this car is 3 for 3.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

... $ 15.00 total... yeh baby !

For those of you out there wondering how to get cars/wheels for the upcoming FEATHERWEIGHT CHALLENGE, there are still older FTE wheeled cars out there! Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in our area have older inventory. I stopped by a Dollar General today and picked up these:

(the Ford is headed to Ohio)

Had to crack this one open, Ferrari 458 Spider:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Looks to be the same chassis as the FTE Ferrari 458.

I've found a few new ones lately but I think they're mostly late 2011 models...but I do have that Ferrari Spider. I found a Honda 2000 that had this sweet matte blue finish. I already had the Honda but thought the paint job was extra cool, you don't seem to see too many matte metallic colors. I dig em. Several of the new ones are a teal/orange color combo that makes me want to barf a little...but at the same time that color combination is totally Hot Wheels.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I'm also trying to get better to get cars into the league sooner after I buy them, which forces me to photograph them. I shoot all my cars (even variations) and put them over on my super Flickr collection.

www.flickr.com/photos/themorning ... 990278302/

I really need to do an inventory of cars soon because my cup overfloweth and I'm starting to lose track of which ones I have and don't have when I'm out shopping and end up with dupes.

I found one of the 458 Spyder's today as well. Also the Ford GTX FTE in red. Slim pickens.

What year is that Maverick?

It's a mainline '71 maverick grabber, H W RACING '12, blue w / H W tampos, .... set up for gassing...

Two castings never released as standard carded mainlines. Like most Color Shifters, they are plastic body/metal chassis 'cars'. I keep looking at that Hammer Down in the store and keep wanting to get it... but just never did. I actually think it looks kind of cool. Now that I know its quick, I might be more willing to shell out 3 bucks for it!

Also interesting to note that both 'extremely SWB car.

Picked up the Hammer Down today. Cool car! I really like the look of it, especially when its in a hot room. Sadly, my track is in the basement, so i'll pretty much never see it like that. Oh well! Mine isn't much of a track burner - although its not slow - it doesn't keep up with any of the faster cars on the track. Beats my featherweight challenge 1 Bedlam by just a nose!

Came across this Dodge and a few other new cars at the local Wally. I did also get a Mustang and a bug as well.

just got a '70 torino...looks like it has broken spring shackles... just in case it's the next cup car...

On the way home from work I stopped at a K-Mart I hadnt been two in over 8 years. When I got to the cars there was a guy there with a open HW box filling up his picks. I figured he got what ever might have been good. I checked the pegs and found two 67 Chevelles (help to replace the two I just killed). Some funky 69 Chevelle and a few FTE cars I had not seen yet.. There were some cars on the wrong hooks down the row and I smiled to find me another 66Nova

The thing is in the main rack on the very back of a row I spoted an odd card and pulled out this.

I'm like oh look rubber tires! A tribute car to Dan Wheldon.

Nice finds Kracon. Not only did you find another '67 Chevelle to build for the CSSC, you also scored three candidates to build for GASSER WARS II!

Congrats on the Dan Wheldon find. Im still looking for that one.

Its in honor of the Indy car driver that died at the Las Vegas speedway last year. Its one of the few mainline cars that has the rubber wheels that is not considered a super treasure hunt. It seems collectors are taking all of them though as though they are super hunts.

haha, I found one of those DW1's and I tore it apart. It's on its way to the Featherweight Challenge as we speak!

Last night I hit a Kmart and came out with another 25 bux in cars. I found the A-Team Van kinda of funny. after that I went to Ralphs and crap they had this new display there yet I always find 2011 cars there. Found a Bone Shaker on the peg and I end up pick up like 10 more cars. I took all the NOva both places have

[size=150:3lpoupm9]teal GT-500 Super Snake FTE.

Then I went to the local farmer's market where the cars are 7 for $5. I picked up a Turbolence FE(that will remain in-package for a future C4 stock class race) along with 3 different `90s era 'Gold Medal Speed' Dodge Vipers, an F-Racer FE, an Impavado 1, and a non-FTE Speed Bump.

That's $7 spent for 9 potentially fast cars....not a bad night, eh?

Not a bad night at all Bill!

Would love to see some pics of those beauties!

there were like 10 A-Team vans at wally world awhile ago, and i was in a hurry and said i would come back for one. and wouldnt ya know....havent seen another one since. want to find KIT also.

Yesterday was a good day. I received a '16 Angels' FTE from a trade w/JDC442 in the mail. Then I went to Wallyworld and found a '4ward Speed' HSW car that I've been looking for. And then I stopped by the local farmer's market and found a metal on metal )

They might be on clearance now at your local Wal-Mart. I saw a couple locally.

just shared my recent finds.... with the "kids" at CAMP SUNSHINE.... serious illnesses all round... great bunch of racers...
patients and their siblings [ who get left out all the time] were racing in three classes... tykes ran on the battle of the burnouts track, the (2) older groups ran on the DRAG TRACKS set...all got to keep their car... very well behaved crew.... (84) racers in all... had a ball... wonder if the kids did ?
i just finished up the build on another battle of the burnouts track, this time using all hot wheels orange track parts, for donation to their cause... if any of you would be interested in donating a few of your duplicate [ on the card (because of deseases)] cars to the kids, i will personally take them to camp sunshine with the track...they have a new group of "racers" each week all summer... IN my local grocery store chain (HEB) picking up lunch makings and the Boulevard cars are in the closeout cart.
75 cents each! These are all metal cars with Real Rider wheels. I picked up 2 of each. They had probably 20-30 more if anyone is interested or collects them. Mustang II, AAR Cuda, Demon, Packing Pacer, Torino, stingray concept.

ditto bryan, talked to the sales person, local wallies are not restocking the expensive releases, saturday evening post etc.
there is a pegboard out in the grass seed, potted plants section [marked clearance]... most are $3...get what you want now... if wally and k-mart stop carrying these cars, the EBAY price will sky rocket

It figures...the one weekend that I visit my local farmer's market with a rather thin wallet is the same one where the vendors bring out their newest stuff....a virtual treasure trove of FTEs and htf FEs. With a meager $6 budget I came home with:

Fast Fish FTE (Gold)
Honda Civic Si FTE
Toyota AE-86 Corolla FTE (White)
2 -`70 Chevy Chevelle FTEs (Green & Gold)
Audi R8 2008 FE (Black w/os5s)

Fortunately, one of the vendors was nice enough to set aside about 20 cars for me to pick up next week. Most of them are FTEs that I already have, but with different color variations. Still no sign of the coveted 'Formul8r FTE'...maybe next week.

GspeedR

Found at the local CVS.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The Camaro is a "08" model, the forklift is a Matchbox, and the Knuckle Buster Truck was loose on a rack $5.99

went to k-mart...after the DAYS... got an angry pig [friend thinks he's one]...
an altered ego ['47ish crosley]... and a street creeper [either one, trimmed on a way 2 fast's base ? ]

Hammerhead (#3/10 - 32.9g)....I found only 1 example of each on somewhat freshly stocked pegs.

Also, I picked up a `08 Tesla Roadster, a Nissan Titan FTE and a few more FTE doubles @ the farmer's market. I wish I could've found the ultra-low Nissan FTE in time for "Truck Wars" ....its fast & stable on flat straits, but suffers a bit on hard angled transitions.

Cool, may have to hit up Target tomorrow...

I have been rapidly building my collection since getting the bug a few weeks back... been hitting Dollar Generals (which currently have a 5 for $5 sale), Walmarts, Mejiers, and this weekend I went to Kmart for collector's day (but was late for the case openings), Dollar Tree, and Toy s R Us. TRU had a BOGO sale so I stocked up. Here's what I've picked up over the

Preacher, how well does the Hammerhead FTE run on your track? I haven't had a chance to test mine out yet.

I was really looking forward to the Hammerhead FTE as I think it ranks up there as one of the faster non FTEs from the 2011 releases. But mine just stunk, big time.

I was also looking forward to the FTE Hypertruck. That one barley made it down the 50 foot league track. Might give them each another try (buying another) as I had high hopes for both of them.

huh... thats disappointing. I almost bought the Hammerhead FTE this weekend thinking the same thing as you. Ended up buying new track instead. I blame the FTE2s.

Thanks! It's addicting, I just see so many cars that look so cool!

I just wish I had a better way to display my loose ones... right now I have them all in a bin.
I've seen some good looking display cases, but the ones online sell for $$$, more than
I really want to dump on a case.

I went to Kmart yesterday and they clearly dont stock their shelves every often in Idaho... so I found few older cars from the past few years. The highlight of the bunch was Custom V-8 Vega FTE!

Preacher, how well does the Hammerhead FTE run on your track? I haven't had a chance to test mine out yet.

Sadly tonight I raced the Hammerhead and it crashed out alot and had stability issues. I also noticed that several other of my cars that have the FTE 2 wheels have the same issues. Some of these cars that have the FTE 2 wheels run great with no problems...but it seems that there are more cars with these wheels that have a tendency to crash and jump around on the track. I think, in the future I'm going to stay away from these cars...just too many issues with instability. The CCM is still KING of the track at my house.

CCM = "Country Club Muscle" in HW speak.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

nice Carl

edit: I ran my Hammerhead FTE on a 20ft kicker coarse for the 1st time tonight...not bad for a lightweight car. I think it needs more weight in the front end...mine bounces its front wheels over every joint in the track. IMO, It definately isn't the fastest of the `12 FTEs, but its still a decent rolling car.

CCM ? ... canadian cycle and motor.... i wore their hockey skates for 22 years

Yep...mine did that bouncing thing as well. Then I filed the pizza shapes on the outside of the wheels and it has stopped the car from wrecking, but not bouncing. Today I'm going to adjust my track to solve the bouncing problem. It seems some cars can handle transitions and bumps better than others...not really sure why they are so different...must be car weight, and where it is located.

Preacher

Since my initial testing of the Hammerhead FTE on single lane track, I applied some graphite to the wheels and began racing it on the open test coarse. Is it forward, it'll run with the fastest cars I have.

Cool. Still haven't quite figured out the new Treasure Hunt system yet.
I see the "TH" on the Charger but how is the Ferrari marked?

If you look at the cars, they're unmistakably different. The regular Ferrari is bright red but the TH is spectraflame red. Not to mention that the TH has real riders and is branded with the TH symbol. When looking through cars on the shelf, you can't miss them unless you're clueless as to what a hotwheels car looks like. When I found mine I was just mindlessly looking when I saw it towards the back and immediately noticed that it was completely different looking then the other grabbers I had just past.

Nice T Hunts.

forgot I took some of my doubles to trade but didn't take them out for the haul pics.

nice haul V M .
i spy an eye candy in the haul, if you drill her rivits out you'll find that it is a great hot rod base, z'ed at both ends w/ headers that support most hot rod boddies... sweet 16 II's rear wheels roll well and fall out when the rivits are drilled.

Nice finds vidmouse!

I love the BIG Hauls! Now get to racin'!

Great photos! Good-looking group of cars there.

No bad at all. Maybe see what you can do about brightening the up, some of them are kind of dim. Maybe just a brighter light on your photo area would help. And don't forget to get light on the background too...try for more white and less brown/grey. I know some of my league photos are grey background, but I'm hoping to replace them eventually. And if don't lose the above angle...should see the top, front and side.

Found an '10 FTE Fast Fish on the pegs at Right Aid yesterday... must have been sitting there for 2 years just waiting for me! Was a dud out of the package though, but I noticed that there was some excess paint in the wheel well scrapping on the bad tire. I cut it out with an exacto knife and it runs like a champ now!

Sweet!...I checked out your pic. The funny thing is, I work for a VW dealer and I've seen many old, full-sized Rabbits/Golfs in that condition.

It looks like it had a 36 year rally across town on the sidewalk. It has severe scrapes on the side, but it's my new oldest car, dethroning the Front Runnin Fairmont.

Glad you liked my photo. What is your oldest car? Toy, not the oldest at the VW dealership.

My oldest car is an original `69 Torero(Spectraflame Orange). It rolls well, but isn't exceptionally fast. I shot some video of it racing on my dragstrip recently and I'll post it up soon. I also have a Front Runnin' Fairmont that's pretty quick...it barely lost to my MC entries.

Found another Super Treasure Hunt today! I was at CVS and saw a display of hotwheels, went over and right in the front... was one of the cars i've been DYING for ever since I saw it! Don't have time to take a picture right now, but its this:

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Excellent!

The CVS in my town hasn't had new Hot Wheels in about a year, and even then I think they were old stock from another store.

Target finally updated their inventory so I snagged a few new ones and a couple that just looked good. I'm really liking the HW Showroom line. A lot of them are models I already have but their dressing is just spiffy.

The Custom Camino caught my eye from across the aisle. At first I thought it was a Mad Max licensed car but it wasn't. I'm still waiting for his Falcon to join the KITT and Ghostbusters movie cars.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Was in Target last week getting some last minute Halloweeny stuff and ran across these...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Angry birds are going to the kids, but I got caught up on FTE releases and some other new cars.

I picked up the new Caddy FTE @ Target last night. It was the only one left on the pegs and it seems to be a well built example w/tightly mounted axles & free spinning wheels. I haven't applied any graphite to it yet, but its almost as quick as my heavier Charger Drift FTE(w/graphite!). Comparatively, this car has similar dimensions to the Infiniti G37...although it is 2mm wider which may give it a slight edge w/stability.

I also have a orange CTS-V and it is a champ! It can keep up with my 2nd best car, a MM 70 Chevelle SS Convertible.

I also have the Cadillac, but I have found that the FTE2 wheels sometimes cause instability running down the track. I'm shying away from cars with these wheels...I only have a few that really run smooth and fast...just too many issues for me.

It's great to see that Alien casting. I still have my Alien from when I was a kid...one of the few cars that survived childhood, although I painted mine with stars-n-stripes so it's a little "custom" to say the least. Mine has the ultra wheels so I'm not sure what year that makes it but I think I had it mid-to-late 80s, if I had to guess.

BTW, discovered that the Target here in town restocked with cars and have found quite a few that I didn't have from '12 and a few new '13 models. Look for them to be in the League soon.

Why not put a TH on it like before... That symbol is pretty stupid looking.

Why not put a TH on it like before...

IMO because it was hard to find a TH on the pegs when the store's stocker could easily spot them!

This morning, my daughter sent me on a mission to CVS for nasal decongestant. Naturally, I couldn't help but notice the freshly stocked cardboard display on my way to the 'cold remedies' isle. After some rigorous car shuffling, it yielded a `65 Ford Ranchero TH....my 2nd TH find of the year(no, I don't "hunt" aggressively). While I'm proud of the find, I'm not really attached to the car. Any takers? Any 'reasonable' trade offer accepted. Just pm me.

There is also a message behind the car about it being highly collectible. Althought the Bread Box hides it.

The rest of my MBs needed graphite to bring the performance up to an acceptable level, but I don't think this one will. I gained some interest in these cars after reading about the undefeated MB Nissan @ the Rhode Island HW Club:

http://bluerealriders.com/dark/challenge1.html

While I understand that not all Laser wheel cars are going to have this type of performance, my example should at least give me an idea of what makes these cars "tick". However, they aren't 'cheap'....if you can find a packaged example for under $10, its a "bargain"!( )

Yeah, I read that same page some time ago and it got me thinking the same thing about these cars. It will be interesting to see what your findings are about these cars.

Merry Christmas,

Preacher

I was able to quickly set up a 10ft test rolling track and give these cars a brief run. These old MBs have a working suspension with a few mm of travel. The suspension seems to compress under the weight of the car when it rolls through too wide(34mm) to perform well on orange track. However, I do plan of keeping the car and eventually try it out on an Expert drag track(slightly wider lanes).

But I haven't given up on MB performance yet. my price range.( )

And I'm sure some of you will be seeing(and/or racing against) my Chevy Pro Stocker in one of WorpeX's videos soon enough. I think its going to raise a few eyebrows.

Be careful getting the axles out as that car has a metal base.
After taking the body off I use a pocket screwdriver to seperate the lock down thingies holding the axle down. Whatever you do don't get in a hurry or you'll have bent axles.

My birthday today so I went to all the stores in my area! It's funny how they all have their own purpose! K-mart has the older stock where I picked up the Spin King and Hammerhead FTE2. Then I went to Walmart accross the street for the new stuff. Found the Chevro8ter, CUL8R and Ratified there. Next, to Target which has the best stock of the "Special" cars. Thats were I picked up the Chevy Monza Hot Ones, Tacoma HSW and Drift King HSW along with the prize purse for the RNL!

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY... buddy had a garbage bag of hot wheels track from a co-worker... 25 sections of track, a 180, a launcher, a loop de loop, and a handfull of connectors.... HAPPY NEW YEAR... oh and he had fireworks !

After cashing my paycheck Friday morning at the local Stop & Shop I hit the toy aisle and found this. I like the Muscle Machines but the price tag is ridiculous. $7.50 with the sales tax, and they are more than that at the new Hobby Lobby, so they'll stay hanging. I only bought this because it's the Chase car and it's rare for me to ever stumble across one.

Forgot to take a pic, but picked up a few new ones at Target this weekend while birthday present shopping.

New Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, BMW 1992 M3 and a matte black Lambroghini Aventador.

Really some nice looking castings coming out, and lots of Ferrari's...which I like!. Hope to find a couple more of the M3's to paint in the bright yellow and red they came in originally. They have kind of ugly wheels on them though.

I also see regular cars coming with the solid color wheels in green and red, etc.

Expensive Hot Wheels from Hot Wheels Collectors . com . Usually cool old castings.

whats a redline club car ?

Hot Wheels produces a special line of cars. Most of them are reproductions of the early Customs. They are much higher quality and only Members of the Hot Wheels Redline Club can buy them. They are all over ebay and kinda expensive. $10 to $25. Check'em out. I was just wondering if you had done one before so you tell me what kind of axel they ran.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
This pic was "borrowed" from the ol' www.

Wow!!! Do you recall how much it weighed in at. Although the RLC cars are metal top and bottom, they usually do not have the same chassis as a production car. That may not be the case with the Cylone since the headers appear to be part of the chassis molding on both cars.

I've got my eyes on an RLC Bye Focal and Poison Pinto. maybe convert them both to FTE's.

I brought a couple of them to work with me this moring for a closer look. They don't have a bushing of any type. The axel just appears to go into the back of the wheel. No way to lube.....so they gotta go.

the cyclone also appears to have a diecast rollbar inside... heavy !...... yahoo, just got a case of bent card cars in the mailbox from bernie's wheels.

A little info on what MB ran fast this past Sunday at our inaugural MB class race at the LJLRC meet. This being a points class we also keep track of the fastest time as it's worth points and a trophy at the end of the year. Anyway, my Dodge Magnum Police car registered the fastest time fairly early. A short time later The green version of the New Superfast For F150 SVT Lightning pickup beat it. Next time down the Ford beat it's own new record, with a 2.258 on our 24 ft. track. Just after that my red Jeep Liberty tied the time, and nobody else really came close. Neither vehicle ran that fast again. The Jeep ended up in the finals against the orange Ford Transit Taxi, which while it didn't set a speed record was still very quick and took first place. Don't know if this helps you at all. This new MB class was a hit with everyone and I know I'm looking forward to the Feb. meet. Sorry for the poor quality pics, I was in a hurry to get them taken.
This is the same Magnum I ran.

I have been trying to figure out where the line is with the production of Matchbox where they went from fast to slow, this helps to add some data to that.

Dodge Magnum-2006
Superfast-2006
Jeep Liberty-2002
Ford Tranist Taxi-2010

I have failed with most Matchbox cars that I have tried (not tons) over the last few years. The only ones that have been somewhat competive with HWs were made in the late 90s to early 00's. Heck, we have a slow poke race in our leage--last to cross the finish line wins and current Matchbox cars rule this class.

I found this car at Big Lots today. It seems to have been imported into Canada. The description on the back is in about a dozen different languages.

I dont think Im going to crack this one open at least not yet. I am amazed at the yellow wheels and the name, Ferarri Racer.
Is this thing any good?

It was a car from the Ferrari Racer series made in 08 or 09. I actually have a 365 GTB/4 a.k.a Ferrari Daytona.

It probably wasn't imported from Canada because I live in the southern USA. That's sorta the opposite of Canada.

That's a pretty snazzy looking car. Is it all metal?

I haven't opened it. So I don't know. The yellow wheels make me think it's not that fast......lol

Oh I don't think it was imported from Canada. I think it was imported to Canada. But I'm not sure.

Toys R Us carried them around here. I have a collection of about 80 Ferraris but passed on these.

I've only been in this hobby a little over a year.
It would be great to just run across a car like that!

It's all subjective. I've left Treasure hunts hanging because I didn't like them...one mans garbage is another mans gold or something like that. If you just pick up the ones you like you can't go wrong.

Thank you guys. That makes sense to me. Keep'em rolling!

Well I guess my find wasn't that great. Live and learn.

If you like it, then it was a great find. The reason I didn't buy any of these is because I don't like to spend what they were asking for it. I really have to like it to want to spend 4 to 5 dollars on a HW.

Thanks guys, all but the el camino has plastic chassis...easy axle removal....

The nice thing about "collecting" FTE cars is...nobody else does...they are all looking for old original, or Treasue Hunt and Super TH cars. Therefore the value has not gone up.

That's a good bunch right there.

Nice finds! I had many of those same cars when I was a youngster.

You know how the Goodwill sometimes has plastic bags full of random cars? Well my wife found five bags of these cars for $4 each.
Although half the cars weren't anything special, there were some keepers The majority of these have redline tires.

Funny thing is that a lot of these were the exact same cars I first got as a kid, except that they all had basic wheels, NOT redline. It was amazing to finally get to own/hold the redline version after all these years

No problem. Smitty. I'm anxious to see what it gets turned into!

Today was a good day... 1/2 day at work so I thought I'd stop by a Kmart to see if they were still BOGO. A little out of the way on my trip home, and I have been there before. Checked the pegs..couple bump arounds, nothing I had to have. On my way out of the store I catch a rotating rack over in the garden section...never saw it before. This baby was sitting two deep on the pegs.

I work as a kid's entertainer and it takes me all around my region. When I have a chance I scope out to see if the area i'll be working in has a flea market or something, and I got lucky this weekend. Was just a little farmer's/antique market, and when I walked in I wasn't expecting to find anything, but lo and behold back in a corner there was a guy with diecast cars.

Anyway, he let the packaged cars go 3 for $5, and the loose ones for 50 cents. (he had an enourmous pile of loose ones but most were in pretty rough shape)

Anyway, that's my haul for the weekend.

In the card. (yay I found another Bone Shaker...love those Bone Shakers)
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Loose ones. Couple of them were a little iffy for racing but will look ok on a shelf. Its my first Nomad, and my first Demon. The Demon is a "reproduction" redline, and its pretty cool. I had a lime green one as a kid and it was one of my faves. When I gave them the once over at home I realized that the green Surf Crate is actually a Yu gi oh themed one. My daughter will love it.

These are some well-loved cars so I'll be restoring a few for him but then I plan to start modding some of the others so I can join in on some upcoming mail-in tournaments.

Last weekend, I finally found the white version that I have been looking for that says "Scum Bum" on the backend in honor of the Smokey and Bandit movies.

When Smokey and the Bandit first aired on American network television in the early 1980s, censors were faced with the challenge of toning down the raw language of the original film. For this purpose, they overdubbed dialogue deemed offensive, which was (and remains, to an extent) common practice. The most noted change made for network broadcast was the replacing of Buford's often-spoken phrase "sumbitch" (a contraction of "son of a bitch"; usually in reference to the Bandit) with the nonsense phrase "scum bum". This phrase achieved a level of popularity with children, and the 2007 Hot Wheels release of the 1970s Firebird Trans Am has "scum bum" emblazoned on its tail.

That's a super cool bit of trivia. Smokey and the Bandit was one of my all time favorite movies growing up.

That's funny. I first saw the movie on TV as a kid, and I thought "scum bum" was just what he said. Then one day, well into adulthood, I rented the movie and found out otherwise.

Buford got some awesome lines in that movie.

So, this is the most I've bought at one time in a long time, but I couldn't resist. I hit a local WalMart I have been in for quite a while. They had nothing new on the pegs. I found the huge bin in the aisle as I turned to leave, this had all the new stuff. The buses were for my grand kids to run in the school bus feature race this past Sunday at the LJLRC.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Smitty, do you need a couple of the '34s?
The Daytona and one of the Zamac Mustangs went to people at the club. One of them will go in my Mustang collection as will the Boss 351 (really sharp!), and a '34 is for the hot rod collection. The blue MIG Rig was just kinda neat. One of the VW's ran in the any brand race but but didn't do so well. The school buses by the way were dogs. That race was won by FOTF. Congrats Cameron!

thanks dad, but I have about 40 of the '34s lying in wait !.... but at $0.97 I will re-load... bunch of good parts for a buck !

Nice score! Since 68's are one of my favorite series of Hot Wheels -super cool!

Yeah, just what I needed another series to collect...Ha-ha. The Hot Rods series (10cars) is first on the list,...the Top 40 series has a number of cars that don't do much for me.

good deal...I also dig the Neet Streeters ... there are 3 or 4 different castings... yellow India release is a poor casting, and has a bad base, the surface the wheel hubs rub against is like a dull blade ?... your green n white release is much better... compare the sizing of the door windows... they all need a windshield, and a chrome air cleaner/ blower scoop !

I have tons of cars with Ulta Hot wheels and I don't think I've ever found one that is fast. It's so odd that I've started looking for them. Looks like you found the one.

The Redliner was part of the original 'Ultra Hots' series(1984-86). I also have a Speed Seeker, Quik Trik, and Sol-Aire CX4 from the same series and they perform well too. Touted as being "The Fastest breed of Hot Wheel cars!", they had thinner gauge axles which encourages higher wheel RPMs....basically, the "FTEs" of the early `80s. While Ultra Hot(UH) wheels had continued to be used on mainlines into the late `90s, the thin axles seem to have disappeared sometime in the late `80s.

IIRC, the thin axles fell out of favor because of thier poor durability. It doesn't take much effort to bend them...I store/handle mine carefully.

FOTF Told me to get an axle wrench for axles that bend.

FOTF gave you good advice. The thicker gauge axles in late-model HWs are more resilient and can usually be bent back into position without losing too much strength.

Yeah I'm going to see about getting an axle wrench off eBay or from Redline parts. I have a Tiger Wheels '69 Camaro with axles that are slightly bent, and they look to be the same size as older Hot Wheels, so I'm going to try to get the wrench for it's axles.

By the way, if any of you ever find one of those Boneshakers with the Co-Mold 6 spoke wheels, let me know. I'd be willing to spend an arm and a leg on it. It's a really rare car and I need one

ok whats a co-mold 6 ?

I had to look it up, but here is an image (wrong one though - this is the 5 spoke version).

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Keith - what has come out in them recently?

The one above is the 5 spoke version of the co molded wheel. (Dont know what the extra red "spoke" is in the above shot, but it looked off to begin with.)

Here is the 6 spoke version of the co mold. (I have only found a Bone Shaker, an F430, a Manx and Gangster Grim with them at the SW Texas Die cast Site and an fleabay search

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I like the look of them on the LeMans type race car, though! (Whats up with the painted axle - dont recall seeing that before!)

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

ok whats a co-mold 6 ?

I was puzzled by this term also. I did a search on ebay and found several cars listed with co-mold wheels. The rims are not black or chrome. The rims I saw were gray, white or tan with a chrome beauty ring on the outside. Most of them appeared to have real rider tires though.

co-mold 6...
two molds ?... one grey ?... one black ?... must be at least 6 of them...

nice hoard, is the lower center car a blown delivery ?

Yes.

In the name "Co-Mold 6", the "Co-Mold means that the wheel/rim part is molded in one color of plastic, and the tire part is molded in another color. It is basically a two-piece plastic wheel.

Milton, the most recent release of the Boneshaker in the pink color came out with OH5's. (The non-FTE FTE's).
Also, if the 2006 First Edition Boneshaker was the rare one, it would have brownish/copper colored Co-Mold 6's with black tires.

I think it is! I was thinking incorrectly when I thought it was the Black one that is rare if it has the Co-Mold 6's. Supposedly it's only rare if it's on a mainline card though.

love to see a closed roof, FTE, "SHAKER"...

You havent built one (or seven) yet?

This one?

Is this the Boneshaker that has the closed roof?

the shaker with a roof is a '27 ford truck, [longer doors, no rear quarter windows], the 5 window is half a '27 ford coupe, the turtle deck removed with half a '27 pick up grafted on...... hate the skull grill !

I had to look it up, but here is an image (wrong one though - this is the 5 spoke version).

I like the look of them on the LeMans type race car, though! (Whats up with the painted axle - dont recall seeing that before!)

The painted axle tips seemed to be on a lot of those Speed Machines series cars. I agree they look nice on that car, but believe me, they can also kill a car's looks too sometimes Just depends on how they use them.

I RAN A SET OF THOSE RED TIPS FROM A CADDY, THEY ROLLED WELL...
BUT, AS I OPENED THE BLISTER FROM ANY OF THAT SERIES, A QUICK WHEEL SPIN DETERMINED IF THE CAR WENT STRAIGHT TO FRED OR WERE OK AND GOT CUT UP...

Went roaming around town and found some new HW 2014s and a 2012 MB "Hybrid" to test out.

New toy store in the mall had a few 2014s and a box of "1st editions" from Cali in the back. Dating back from 2000 to 2011 - no RLD ringers, but did pick up two Vettes for the wall display.

I have picked up the bullet proof a couple of times, but always put it back for another...have you tested it yet? I hope I can find some color shifters around here - we seem to be a week or two behind the rest of the country in distribution and by the time I notice a new case alotment they are pretty well picked over.
