Cross Country Tournament
Do they still weigh more than 100 grams still over there?
I havent been able to make a working layout in a road course configuration - do to the limited space/layout of our sun room, we still have to be able to walk through! But I will participate in the series.
This sounds cool! I don't quite understand that third course, though. Would it be like the second one, but with one big hill instead of two smaller ones?

sorry FOTF, blueprint habit... a assume everyone sees a top view and a side view...[24 years at GE],
but I failed to designate them... duh !
top illustration is the top or over view [track layout]... the lower one is the side view [track's drop, 2" at a time]...
I think the track drop will help keep the momentum up to one that lets all the cars finish... !
this spring on a warm day I will give it a shot... but anyone that want's to try it please do... save me some stair climbing...

Oh! I see what you mean now. Winds back and forth--makes much more sense than going up and down to that extreme.
But the third thing that Stroller mentions--"Pikes Peak Blast"--yeah, okay, that's just one large hill. When I first saw that, the idea of a launcher came to mind.

Sorry FOTF no launchers will be used.............just gravity..............
Awesome! Diecast tri-fecta!

Gravity and momentum--sounds good to me.
I'm very interested in participating. Depending on your track designs, plastic-on-metal cars might be favorable. They're more likely to maintain stability if the wheels should leave the track over the peak(s). Our Indonesian friends have incorperated 'humps' in thier drag/stunt tracks and P/M cars seem to be common entries there.
