My first body mods
Thanks. I really like the stagefright reference, lol
The base is scratch built and the motor is from a Dieselboy.
Today's fun...sectioning a body down the center.
Torinorod!
Sitting on a Bulletnose chassis. Still deciding on wheel choice...I'm thinking FTE's off a Carbonator.
Don't think I'm going to be able to section the windshield to fit though
Looks cool w/o the windshield. Can't wait to see what wheels and paint you choose.
looks very cool.
Try using a mustang funny car windshield, they are pretty narrow. If that doesn't work, use the original windshield and start cutting the outsides until it fits. If neither of those ideas work, cut a section out of a blister pack.....
Updates from yesterday...didn't make it to the hobby store for axle tubes...hopefully today at lunch
Painted the body. Needs a light sanding and few touch ups and then a final coat. GOLD!
I'm going to use the FTE wheels off a Carbonator, I think it will look great.
Jason, thanks for the tip on the windshield. I have one of those funny cars, I think I can make it work.
Damn, Jobe, you are on a roll! Your work is inspiring...makes me wanna go out and buy paint and stuff and get intimate with my Dremel. You should enter your cars in some mod pageants or something, that's good stuff.
I'm building these for a contest over at Hobbytalk.com
THought it would be a good excuse to tinker with the cars more
I did a bunch of wheel swaps last night but forgot photos.
Thanks!
Gold looks sharp!
Looking good.
I'll expect to see them in Dallas later this year.....
I'll see what I can do about getting to Dallas...shouldn't be a problem.
Progress from last night. Got the custom axle made for the rear, thanks Jason...works perfectly!
Got my exhaust on and a back deck made. I'm close on getting a windshield to work.
Sanding, repaint and clear tonight, install the rear bumper and grille and maybe get it finished!
the chop shop last night...
Lots of wheel swaps...BTTF Delorean FTE!
Gonna have to go to Hobby Lobby this weekend...that mod looks awesome, Bryan. Impressive...you should totally enter one in the Nashville race & show competition. I need to start working on mine soon if I want to have it done before June.
Jobe: that Gran Torino mod is absolutely beautiful. I can't see a seem on it at all. Love the paint!
Jason: somewhat reminiscent of the Stage Fright. I remember that is one of your favorite castings. The detail on the engine is amazing. It goes through quite a transformation from pic 10-13. From what car did you get that base engine you added to the Haulin' A?
Some incredible talent you two!
